I had a lot of thoughts. Um, you know, we we try to keep it as undone as possible here. Um, so we going to we going to talk about some of the some of the weird that I saw as well. When I say weird, just not great. You know what I’m saying? Um, interestingly enough, I said this to Brian Bris today on the Doing All right podcast. Shouts out to y’all if you um tapped in with me. But I was like, I know there’s a lot of people that are hype about Nate Thomas playing left tackle. No disrespect to Nate Thomas, but Nate Thomas was having close fights with people that Tyler Gayton was beating consistently, right? So, when people kind of asked, “Yo, Vash, what you thought about Nate Thomas?” I thought Nate Thomas showed some good promise, but I still thought Nate Thomas was a backup. If you saw that uh episode of the Doing All right podcast, just let me know in the chat so I can know that you saw it. But I said that earlier. um run game started like it looked like there’s a lot of room to go. That was a lot of words. Pardon me. The early portions of practice, I’ll say it like reporter V. Uh in the in the in the early portions of practice, run game was a little shaky. Mike, get your run game was a little shaky. You know what I’m saying? And I would need the cartel view to kind of see what was going on. You know what I’m saying? But it looked like some of the same issues that we was having uh last year and the year before, right? A lot would be good, but one would be weird, right? So, four blocks would be executed perfectly, one block would look a little weird, and that’s where a lot of your pressure would come from. And you know, when you run gap schemes like that, if you kind of break one, the damn kind of breaks for a lot because, you know, yeah, I’m one guy dealing with this. But for example, um, three offensive linemen are responsible for three defensive linemen. Okay? And it’s all about timing. So you may whoop the left tackle, the left guard may have a good combo arm on the three-te, but if the center loses to the three tech, then the left guard becomes compromised. You understand what I’m saying? And then based on what happens with the running back, the left tackle’s block could be compromised as well. So yeah, even though we might be doing more individual blocks, even if it’s an individual block, it could still be compromised by a little bit of leakage. if necessary. If necessary, right? So, what I saw was I just saw five offensive linemen that weren’t all the way on the same page. That’s normal, right? Cuz these guys just now coming together in this way. Uh Nathan Thomas is new here. Tyler Smith was there, but he didn’t play a whole bunch. I noticed that. Maybe he’s still kind of resting that knee uh with that knee soreness a little bit. I find it uh I find it hilarious. chat. Did y’all notice that when Tyler Smith has some uh some knee soreness that we all like, “All right, get better, Tyler Smith. We believe you.” But when Mazy got some knee soreness, we just assume he faking. Ain’t that funny? Ain’t that funny? Or am I the only one thinking like that? I might be the only one thinking like that. I don’t know. Um, but you know, of course, when Hoffman is in there versus the Rams ones is not good. Nate Thomas in there versus the Rams ones is not good. Jar verse Kobe Turner, like those dudes can play. Those dudes can play. I think from what I saw from BB and Big Tyler when he was in there, he was fine. I didn’t get a whole bunch of looks at Terrence, but it is what it is. Early stuff, the offensive line wasn’t really looking in sync, right? And maybe that’s because, hey, this our first time as a unit going against some other, you know, some other team or whatever. Offense uh seems to not seems to, but offense tends to need to be a lot more in sync. If you a defense, you can you can play chaotic. If you’re a defense, you can roll out the bed with chaos and thrive in there, right? But if you offense, you do need to like we call it mid-season forming for a reason. That’s something that I’m always saying. It’s mid-season forming for a reason. You know what I mean? The Cowboys didn’t look in mid-season form today with the run game stuff early. The run game stuff got much better later. Uh Jaylon Blue got involved. Hunter Licky got involved. Chat, y’all sick get involved in running back. Did you hear what I said? And he took a carry. I believe it was a like a red zone period or something like that. I love that. Let me tell you what I love about that. Cuz if you got Hunter Lipkkey in and all he’s doing is blocking, then Hunter Lipkkey becomes predictable as to what his job is going to be. Just like I was pissed off at Turpin, if he’s only going to be jet sweep guy, he’s predictable, right? At some point with Hunter Licky at running back, you got to earn the respect that Hunter Licky could get the ball and he got it done. Demarco, he got it. So, I was happy to see that. I think when the Cowboys got in their red zone period, you really start to see especially the first team turn up a little bit. Something interesting. Chad, tell me if I’m lying. They really really got busy in the end zone. I wanted to see more from the Cowboys defense, but they were on the other field and I guess all the media cats chasing offense like they do, man. I kind of wanted wanted us to hit them back a little bit. But just keeping it keeping it funky, the Cowboys are are are still developing as a tough team. I think the Cowboys are still trying to get a little better as a team of toughness. You know what I’m saying? So, they got a little work to do in that department, but I just saw the Rams thumping the hell out tarping, thumping wide receivers, catching the ball, thumping the running backs a little bit. And I ain’t see much of our defense, but all I wanted to see was us thumping them back. Just a little taste. But um we won’t get the the uh full picture until a game gets here, right? But my biggest question, um, even though I didn’t get to see a lot of the defense, is really about that interior Dline. It feels like our top three interior D linemen are all three techs. And it feels like Fluence is kind of settling for rotating these three techs, you know, and trying to be creative with these three texts between one and three. Um, and so and then I heard from Bratus a little earlier about us showing some 34 looks. So I started looking at it and I was thinking to myself like, man, we might have to go all the way back to Wade Phillips 34 to even think about the last time we stopped the run. Sure. In your opinion, do we have more 34 personnel than we have 43? And what do you think about that switch? Appreciate your player. Good call. Good call. Um, I don’t even know if it’s necessarily a switch. I don’t even know if it’s necessarily a switch in that way. I think it’s going to be a I think it’s going to be a even front for the most part. Um, I think the the different types of guys that can that can uh go like I don’t think it’s going to be like everybody has the same kind of role. Hey man, we got these kind of guys. I just think I mean think about how white Cotton used the Jets defensive line. Those guys were all types of guys. They were even front, but they had some bigger pass rushers. They got smaller pass rushers. They got bigger three tech, small three takes. You’re not wrong. We got a bunch of three tech adjacent styled body typeyped players in there. Um but it’s more than one way to play run defense, you know. Um, when your big characters are in there, then maybe you play run defense like you take up double teams. When you got smaller guys in there playing one tech, um, then maybe your linebacker shoot gaps a little bit more. It’s going to depend. I think no matter what, as long as it works and as long as Overshon’s not compromised, um, I think I think that’s the the big key here. You don’t want like you want Overon to be as comfortable as possible. You know what I’m saying? Um, so you you might have to you might, you know, you might need some some bigger bodies to help you in like a like a trouble situation. You know what I’m saying? As long as you got a clear vision of what you trying to pull off, then cool. But even if you have a clear vision, you still need like something dynamic to keep you safe. And even though I still keep my circle incredibly small, part of my gratitude journey or whatever is I have an incredible following. I’ve done an incredible job changing my life talking football on YouTube. And I did it by showing my face and being informative around other people. So even though old Vatch didn’t do a bunch of collaborations, New V really still don’t either. But I’ll go on a channel just to show love, salute, bring some viewers if I can cuz I know how dope this [ __ ] could be when you get where you want to go. You know what I mean? So petty vot. I got a lot of petty bones in my body. I’m still working on my ego. I’m trying. I’m trying real hard to be the shepherd, but I’m steadfast and ten toes down that gratitude comes first. All right. And I’m grateful for y’all. I’m grateful uh for everybody that uh that uh taps in with me. There is no amount of of of talking [ __ ] that somebody could say that could uh you know make me go crazy on on somebody like I like I used to do back in my old day cuz I’m too grateful for that. I’m way too grateful for that. There’s this one YouTuber um and I never say his name. He was about to get hands and feet. He was talking [ __ ] to Vach when Vach was in the peak of my Muay Thai training when I was doing tour days and [ __ ] And I was like, if it’s like that, you can get hands, elbows, feet, knees, and shins, mother. Like, it was like that, right? Boy, life too good to be worried about people not thinking positive things about you. Why am I so worried about people saying positive things about me? If people saying good things about me, thank you. I’m grateful. But if people saying bad things about me, I may not be grateful that you saying bad things about me, man. But life’s so damn good, boy. What the hell going on? Well, what I’m going to be mad that you mad at me for? Don’t that sound cra DMV? Don’t that John G. Don’t that sound crazy? I’m mad I’m mad at you cuz you mad at me. Don’t that sound crazy? Old V used to be mad at people cuz people was mad at me. New voucher. Somebody mad at me. You just mad for nothing. What you mad for? So that’s all I got today, man.
