Cincinnati Reds vs Chicago Cubs (08-04-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets

Mike Sroka and the Cubs at – 135 total of 7 12 juice to the over at minus 115. Kenny I just locked in. I saw the 6Ks at plus money. I couldn’t believe they didn’t juice us up to seven. Uh because I mean his last start he had sixks through two innings. Struck out the first six Dodgers he faced or his first six outs that he recorded I should say in the first two winnings were strikeouts. Uh seems to have a stuff back. Has a nasty curve fast ball in the mid 90s. Uh I could see some low scoring here early on from both these guys, but I’m just locking in looo 6ks plus 110. Uh I think that’s easy money today. What do you think on this one, Kenny? Yeah, I honestly like beat up. I’d love to love to hear what like your model has on this here because I I thought this number was was almost shocking especially after that that outing he just had against the Dodgers. I I woke up today figuring we would see 6 and 1 half at minus 120 and maybe see like a really a really juiced 7 and a half. So I think five and a half at plus money feels like a gift. Like I don’t I don’t know what I’m missing here. So um Kyle, that’s what I was going to do, but then I saw that you know he you already had him on your sheet so I got a little crafty with it. But um I almost want to just do the 6Ks as well just just to just to have both in case the Reds sell me. So I’m going to do it. Give me I have I’m doing Lollo 6Ks and Red’s money line parlay plus 285. Um and then I’m going to double down and just take the Lollo 6Ks as as well. Yeah. And I mean look, even if he doesn’t hit this, look, nothing’s guaranteed in betting anything, right? We know that Bub. But this is a case where you’re just it’s finally feels like a fair price where you feel like you’re not getting raked over the coals here. They’re not making you reach for seven at plus 125. You know, they’re not they’re not straddling the out of us here. Uh, excellent price, fair price for me. Real quick, Kyle, shout out to the bet us because again, we’ve talked about this in the past. The uh the starting pitcher strikeouts parlayed with them with the money line. Obviously, there’s there’s naturally some correlation there. Like if the do is shoving it, it leads to more likely that the Reds win. Bet US continues to have the best prices by a billion in in that specific type of parlay. Soka’s had the strikeout itch this year a little bit more than uh typically used to. Uh sort of kind of reemerged resurged his career, you know, after some he had a lot of potential in Atlanta, right? that he got hurt a lot. Then he comes over to Washington. This pitches well since he’s been there and now you know he’s on a contending team in Chicago. So good for him. But what do we think in the spot here? Lollo versus Srooka Cubs Reds. I haven’t put it out as a play yet, but there’s value on the Reds here. It’s price in the market. Cubs minus 138, but I have it at minus 114. You know, you talk about these guys getting particular pitchers and you you don’t really see anything in the numbers. I I don’t want to like chastise any kind of front office cuz they have you think these guys they have like I’m sure the Cubs have three and four deep analytics guys that are smarter than me but you’re looking at Sroas you look at his K percentage last 17 median I don’t know if they look at that maybe they should 6 percentile location plus number I know they’re looking at that that’s 10 percentile pitching plus is 4 percentile and hard hit per nine is 25th percentile so the only thing I can think of is they look and say, “Well, this guy’s got something that maybe if we change one thing, just little thing, uh, he he we can make a difference with with this guy.” But, uh, you know, I don’t know. Why would you get this guy? And then Leo looks pretty good. He’s 18% better than average stuff plus 83rd percentile. Uh, the one thing that’s kind of kind of giving me some trepidation to play it is I love this Cubs offense, third in baseball. And the Reds I don’t really have up there. I have him like kind of more toward the bottom of baseball. One of the things too, we’ve talked about this Cubs, we’ve actually had heated debates about the Cubs bullpen and uh they’ve been in by my ratings in the 20s uh most of the year. Now they’re 18. So I guess they’ve they’ve gotten better because I don’t think they’ve really made any significant deal at least on the the closure situation. It’s Palencia uh is their closer. But uh so you got 18 and the Reds bullpin a little bit worse 19th. Uh it’s a game that I think if I put it out I’ll put out Cincinnati. Kyle. Yeah, I think I’d lean the Reds as well, but again there’s always the uh concern with that Cubs offense. But for purposes of the show, we are locking in. Both Kenny and I are taking Lolo 6Ks. And then Kenny’s also going to take Ledo 6K’s Reds moneyline parlay at plus 285. So a little we got a little triple dip going on today on the Doolo 6K. just really like that lido 6K.
