This is WAY BETTER than we thought…
This is way better than we thought and following what has been a wild off seasonason of move so far for the Leafs. Some new reports and updates have dropped revealing one particular thing that is way better than lease fans thought. We’re going to break that down, but also discuss some new comments from new leaf Michael Pazetta surrounding not only his excitement of joining the team, but some interesting things he had to say that has fans fired up. A ton to go over today, but before we get into it all, if you’re part of the percentage who aren’t subscribed to the channel, but 70% of you who are watching right now aren’t subscribed. You guys have been absolute beasts of the support. So, make sure to hit that subscribe button. Thank you guys again for your support as we’re on the road to the big goal of 25,000 subscribers and the bigger goal of 30,000. Darus, obviously more moves are coming for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Regarding the moves, the flurry of moves that they’ve made, whether it be Pazetta, Nick Wah, of course, Machelli, all these different guys, some new updates have dropped surrounding one of them in particular, and we’ll dive into Pazetta later in the video, but one in particular surrounding Nick Wah that has me pretty fired up here. I think this is going to be the move of the off seasonason that of course you know as at least as of the time of recording there could be a bigger move you know I think there will be a bigger move coming soon but surrounding the Leafs you know Nick Wu Machelli out of those guys I think Nick Wah is going to take a huge step forward and he spoke out and revealed some interesting things about what he’s going to bring to the roster next season and let’s dive right into it he goes on to say to play like I said for a Canadian team a bigger market obviously there’s going to be a little bit of pressure but I think that’s a privilege as a player and when there’s pressure it means the expectations are high and that’s when you play your best hockey so yeah I’m really excited. So, obviously, obviously there’s like MNER, he’s the replacement for MNER. Is it a one for one replacement? Technically, but that’s obviously not the expectation that we have of him, but there is some pretty big shoes to fill here. And based on what he’s saying, it’s the first time really hearing from him. It’s better than I initially thought. And I think truly that under Craig Breub, he’s going to have a really, really important role next year. And I think he’s prone, like a lot of players on the Leafs, especially the newly, you know, acquired players, for a big breakout season next year. He’s going to play a big role for this team. And now they finally have a third line center, a solidified third line center that can go out and and do the job for that line instead of, you know, who is it tonight? Is it Max Doi at center playing out of position or is it, you know, somebody else? Is it somebody from the Marlies, Montes Holberg? No, you have a solidified third line center who’s won the Stanley Cup. And I think that’s very exciting for Leaf fans. But I think the biggest thing and the biggest story out of all of this and what he said uh yesterday is that yes, we know that you can continue to change out certain players. you can, you know, keep shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic, like they say with the bottom six, moving guys in, moving guys out, right? All of the stuff season after season. They’ve continuously done that. But this year, there’s going to be some seismic change in terms of like Mitch Marner’s gone. The team is actually going to look a little bit different. They’re going to be heavier. I would imagine they’re going to be harder to play against. But the biggest messaging here is that he’s not shying away from being a Toronto Maple Leaf. He grew up being a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, which is pretty surprising. And then obviously he said he shifted over to being a Habs fan. But uh the biggest thing here is he’s not shying away from it being a Toronto Maple Leaf. He understands that there’s pressure everywhere. There’s pressure in Vegas. There’s pressure in San Jose everywhere to win. And I hate this narrative that it’s harder to play in Toronto because people care about the team a lot, right? I I I’m so sick and tired of that. So he understands that. I’m really excited for that uh heading into next season that just a lot of the guys and listen, it can be a PR campaign. Maybe the team’s telling some of the guys to say some of this stuff, but guys like Joshua coming in saying like, “I’m very excited to be here, to play in front of this fan base. I’m excited at the prospect of what we can do with this roster right now because make no mistake about it, you lost Mitch Mner. They’re still built to win. This team can still win. So, uh, yes, do they need one more piece? Maybe. But I think the biggest thing this offseason that we were talking about is changing the DNA. And that’s not necessarily the player personnel on the ice. They did change that and I think that they’re better for it in certain positions. I think the thing was the mentality heading into this year, right? And what certain guys uh felt like heading into this year and uh Craig RubΓ© said it after game seven last year, the problem is between the ears for this team. It’s a mentality problem. So, I feel like with some of these guys coming in who’ve won the Stanley Cup, Dakota Joshua coming in uh with a chip on his shoulder, he wants to have a better year, I feel like they’re in a better spot right now as a team. Uh mentality wise, everything. A lot of these guys are getting older. Uh, I’m sure they’re realizing like Alex Ovian did at one point like, “Hey, I I better win because I’m going to run out of time here soon.” So, uh, I feel like they’re kind of in that territory and I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. So, that’s kind of what I’m pulling out of this. Is he going to be a great player for the Leafs next year? Yes. He’s not a Mitch Mner replacement one for one like you said. He’s not here to put up 100 points or anything like that, but he’s going to play a defined role. I I think that’s very exciting, especially heading into the playoffs. Uh but it’s the mentality of that some of these guys are bringing uh that should be shifting that it’s like hey actually it’s a privilege to play here. People really care about the team. Let’s give it 100%. Just put our heads down, get to work and try and win some games. The same attitude that Matthew N has and has been talking about, you know, since he signed his contract as well. So I feel like it’s infectious and the team will be better for it. Yeah. He also wanted to say that I know I’m never going to be the flashiest guy out there or the fastest or have the best shot, but I think I can do it all, especially when it matters most. I’m hard to play against. I like going up against top players and I can match up against the best lines which ultimately can. I was showing while we were speaking, you know, some of the charts, he has projected awards a bit lower than you’d like, but his defense, he’s very responsible defensively. He can score goals at an above average clip in general compared to his ice time. He’s going to be a third liner on this team, but you pair him with, you know, the rest of the third line. You look at some of his stats. He had some very good years. Yes, last year a bit of a not really a downyard. It’s pretty much in line with where he’s been, but he’s had obviously won the cup there a couple years ago with Vegas. 41 points year before last, 15 goals last year. If you get 30 or even 40 points out of your third line, uh, you know, center next season, you’re in a very, very good spot for this Toronto Maple Leafs team. I think that’s ultimately what they’re going to try and get out of him is, you know, really, I mean, especially for Craig Bub. Craig Brew obviously he’s a perfect player for Craig Buru. Only 28 years old, fits the mold perfectly. And actually hear from him that he wants to play in Canada and that he’s excited to be here. Obviously, there’s a narrative, especially because he was the one pushed out for uh you brought in rather for Mitch Mner once Mish Miner pushed himself out. So, it’s a it’s an exciting time and I do think that he’s going to be not only is it better than we thought in the sense of I didn’t, you know, necessarily think that he was a big fan of, you know, coming to Toronto when the rumors were going on. Of course, once the trade happened, you kind of just assume that everyone will adjust, but there were rumors going around, you know, players going from Vegas to Toronto. It’s an interesting, you know, big change obviously, but the bottom six still has some work to do. But you mentioned it, Dakota Joshua much better. Um, you know, a much better third, he’ll probably be third liner, but regardless, fourth or third liner than we had last year and he wants to be here. Same with Nick Wah, Scott Lton. Hopefully, he has a bit of a bounce back a season. Again, it was pretty much a down year for him all the way through. Whether it’s his time with the Flyers and then even his time with the Leafs, it is exciting and have a bunch of guys out there who want to play for the Leafs is something that I think will ultimately just make the team better. And also the vibe replacing the guy who didn’t want to be in Toronto is is a big 180. Definitely. When you look at the bottom six too, like you’re bringing up, I think that they’re going to be harder to play against first of all heading into next year. And there’s going to be more goal scoring as a collective. Like will, you know, Nick W scored 20 goals. I don’t know. Maybe that would be fantastic. But I think as a collective group, that bottom six, which isn’t complete yet, like you mentioned as well, will score more goals as a collective. And that’s something that we haven’t really seen. And that’s been a problem. The Leafs biggest problem throughout the playoffs the last couple years, which is pretty surprising, is goal scoring, right? You think it would be the opposite, maybe the defense, maybe the goalending. That’s not the case anymore. That definitely wasn’t the case last postseason. So, the problem is goal scoring and from the bottom of the lineup because look at the Florida Panthers. They got a lot of their goal scoring, especially in the series against the Leafs, from guys not in the top six, right? So, they kind of cancel each other out. And I feel like the Leafs are a better team in the bottom six heading into next year. Of course, they still need one more piece. I think uh not just in the bottom six, but obviously top six. So that’s going to be interesting to keep an eye on. But I think that they’re they’re a better team. They need to continue to shift this mentality. That’s the biggest thing that needs to shift. And I feel like it already has after, you know, the playoffs ended. You saw John Tvar saying, “I’m going to take a a significant pay cut just to stay here.” Matthew Ny, same deal. I feel like he probably could have got more and that was kind of the conversation for a long time, but he wanted to be here. Uh Austin Matthews, obviously the captain of this team now, right? And then these guys like Nick W saying, “I’m excited to be a Toronto Maple Leaf. Dakota Joshua, I’m really excited to be here.” All these things, right, I feel like they’ll be better off for it. And it’s it’s more so a mentality thing, but yes, Brad Living, I think on paper has made this team better. Yeah. Speaking of wanting to be here, Michael Pizzetta came out and said a similar thing. New Leaf Mike Pazetta grew. We knew this, but you know, once he came initially, he even dove into it some more. He grew up idolizing former Leafs captain Matt Sundine, chasing down stars. And feel free to pause and read the whole quote. He is very excited to, you know, to be on the Leaves. You can see here one of his buddies texted him and said, “I still can’t believe you’re on the Leafs.” And there are definitely times where you pinch yourself. The culture has already shifted. He talked about a DNA change. Brad Tivian did. It’s much different. You have Machelli, a young guy who’s going to be hungry now to not only, you know, perform well, but he’s in the last year before he’s an RFA. He has a lot to play for this upcoming season. Same with Scott Lton last year before he’s at UFA. Ton to play for Dakota Joshua. I mean, obviously him and Nicholas, they’ll be in an interesting spot. Bobby McMahon, if he stays on the team, he’s also a year away from UFA. a lot of hungry players here and uh it’s going to be interesting to see how they actually, you know, not only perform with that, but what Brad Living does to augment the team even further heading into what’s going to be a crucial season for this team and quite frankly, probably the most interesting season in the uh the Austin Matthews era with by far the most changes. Definitely the most interesting season, especially maybe a first couple with Mitch Miner being gone. But folks, that’ll wrap it up. Let us know down below what your thoughts are on this. You excited about the additions? Who are you most excited about? She has her.

Where is Connor McDavid
Hi Darius π
Hi Nick π
Itβs the 1st line that has to reach its potential in the playoffs if this team will win the Stanley Cup. The boys making over $10 million per season have to show up and shine, in the past they hibernated π’
It was the botton six that carried the leafs through the playoffs last season – The top six floated
I want Pezzetta on that 4th line with Laughton and Lorentz.
I've had enough of the Jarnkrok/Kampf show.
Pezzetta will chew through the boards for Berube and the honor of wearing the Jersey.
I can easily see him playing his way onto that line, in a consistent role.
From leafs on X
One of one π
Congrats on an amazing career, Cliffy
Kyle Clifford has retired from NHL
media cracks me up! We're a bad team with Marner! Can't win! Now we get rid of Marner and now we're worse off!! I think the "Shannaplan" got us on the right track but failed against heavier teams in the playoffs! Personally, I think the Leafs will be much more balanced and finally has some "truculence" in the words of Burkie!!
Pretty sure they cant replace Marners points, but i think they are going to prevent being scored on more…..i think it will balance out over the season, and the playoff's being a harder game, they will be better served with grit than with grace. Just my opinion……time will tell.
I like him. We obviously downgraded from Marner to Roy, but I like what Roy can add to the team. Reminds me of Keith Primeau. Perhaps because he will wear the number 55 and is as tall as him. π
There has been No Pressure for the Raptors and Blue Jays because they have won a Championship. There has been No Championship since 1967 for the Leafs, so once that happens the excuse of Pressure will not exist.
Toronto is the hardest place to play because it has the lamest home barn in the league.
Can the Leafs make the playoffs with what they have? If they make it. Can they beat Florida? Answer is no!!! Expect the same result. Out in the 1st or 2nd round, then Golf.
