Last NHL season, the Tampa Bay Lightning continued their strong play, finishing the season with 102 points. When asking the question if they’re going to be better or worse this season, the first thing I look at is the fact that the Tampa Bay Lightning scored 294 goals last year and they were a plus 75 in the goal differential. And that was good for second best in the NHL behind the Winnipeg Jets who are a plus 86. When I look at this team, they’ve got an excellent GM, an excellent coach, and this team is loaded with Stanley Cup pedigree, guys who have hoisted the cup and know what it takes to get back there again. They are still rock solid between the pipes with Vaselki. When you look at what they’ve got as far as their pedigree goes, guys like Cooerov Point, Gensel, Hegel had 90 points last year in Tampa and they’ve still got guys like Headedman and Mcdana on the back end. I don’t think much is going to change this year in Tampa and I think they are going to keep on rolling. I think when it comes down to the playoffs this year, they’re going to give the Florida Panthers a little bit more than they did last year. And I think in the regular season this year, the Tampa Bay Lightning will improve by three wins and finish anywhere between 108 and 110 regular season points.
