HOWELL UNDER CENTER. SNEAKING UP THE MIDDLE.
AND — TOUCHDOWN! THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS FIRST
PRESEASON TOUCHDOWN COMES FROM THE LEGS OF BACKUP QUARTERBACK,
SAM HOWELL. >> SAM HOWELL HAD FIVE RUSHING C
TOUCHDOWNS TWO SEASONS AGO, WE up that exact question. He
paused. He gave a very
thoughtful like consideration to all the other positions, like,
yeah, I think you’re right.
>> Clovis. Trouble hit down, throws it away. Might be a sack
for Eric Wilson and Rick Wilson.
That’d be super cool if they had to run four times. And here
come the Houston Texans. Kedon
Slovis still at quarterback. First and ten. Woody marks the
USC rookie. He gets the call and
down to the turf he goes. It’s a loss of one on the tackle is
Brian Asamoah.
>> Well Pete was talking about him in the first half. He didn’t
have a really good camp. He
comes out on a blitz right down of vibe today.
>> Let’s see if we get a sack or
a tackle for loss. >> Woody Marks.
>> Tackle for loss. That’s what
you do. >> There we go.
>> I mean, you jump on the mic.
It’s a tackle for loss. So now it’s going to be second and 11.
Let me let me get the business
out of the way. How’s the hamstring. How are you doing.
>> It’s coming along. You know
just every single day. Just a tough offense. You know, we
asked we ask a lot from him. And
to be a quarterback in this league and to have all of the
pressure on him. I feel like
he’s doing a phenomenal job with it.
>> All right. Bear. Bear hits a
field goal from 43 1310 Vikings last year. How many have been in
the top seven? Oh, Xavier. Nice.
Look at him go. Left side, 2530. Shook a tackle, dude. Xavier’s
got big and strong. Well done.
How many of your seasons in your when there was a little scuffle
with Aaron Jones and all this
stuff, and he’s like, I just have the hockey player
mentality.
>> Go get it. Go get it. >> Are.
>> Come on JJ.
>> Rippin deep right. Jayshawn. Jay. Sean. Yeah that was Jay
Sean. And they couldn’t bring.
>> It in. >> Incomplete.
>> Okay okay. You want to talk
to the people who you got to coverages, asking him how he
likes, you know, our defense
versus the Philly defense. And how is it different. How is it
better. You know so there we go.
Good play. So it’s been a learning it’s been a learning
stage for him. But I’m excited
to see what he has. You know anyone come out here and get
hurt, especially on their first
opportunity of the season. So that’s that’s definitely going
to be a tough loss for us. But
you know we’re going to be praying for him. We’re going to
be having his back the whole
entire way for him to get right back on his feet.
>> And Justin, we.
>> We were just. of fun. 1310 Minnesota into the
fourth quarter. Mertz, rookie
fade left. Incomplete. Nice play at the 42 yard line. That indeed
was an excellent play by Rhett
Stewart. First full year from Troy. Reggie Stewart fourth
down. And that’s it’s for a
cornerback. Yeah. You got to Lakes. Visit vikings.com to
learn more and purchase tickets.
Welcome back Brett Rypien is sacked. That’s what Jonathan
Greenard does. All he does is
sack the quarterback. And Tatum managed to run him down. Tatum.
>> Yeah it’s funny that you
mentioned all he does is sack in game the same way you do in
practice. So it’s just a simple
thing of just keeping the same things basic and watching these
boys fly around make plays.
>> All right, well, can’t wait to see you walk. Moving around,
flying around, making plays real
soon. >> Very very very very soon. So.
Can’t wait.
>> All right. Thanks, Jonathan. We’ll send it back to you in the
booth.
>> Thank you. Tatum. Oscar Chapman, the Aussie. Oh, it’s a
fumble. And the Texans fell on
the muff. Hard to catch the who he was from Houston. Blake
Cashman, stuff like that. I had
no idea how good. Look at look at Graham. Go on the boot left.
Interception. Yes, I knew he was
in trouble. I knew he got himself in some trouble rolling
out the wrong way. Ambry Thomas,
fifth year from Michigan with Leading 1310 with ten minutes to
go in preseason game one. Max
Brosmer. He of the lanky variety stands tall in the shotgun,
fires to the right and it is
caught for a Minnesota Vikings touchdown. Dante Felton with the
touchdown and Minnesota leads
1910. thing Josh McCown in.
>> 2000.
>> Three Brosmer takes the snap. He steps up fires to the end
zone. Touchdown. Vikings. The
price was right on that play. all we’re all having fun. Some
of the boys are showing out. So
it’s exciting. >> Who are some of the boys that
have shown out today that have
impressed you the most? >> You know, I mean, I got to go
with the tight ends, you know,
our boy Ben, he was blocking And to watch him learn the game,
understand the offense has been
fun to be around. You know, I’ve tried to try to give him some
nuggets here and there. You
know, whether it’s after meetings or at snack, you know.
So he’s he’s he’s performed
really well and he’s a guy I look forward to. You know,
playing on this team and making
an impact. Mertz goes out of the shotgun.
He’s going to pass Mertz dump
left. Caught Brooks. Oh, he shook on Kobe King first down
for the Houston Texans. Trailing
20 to 10. For more on Levi Drake gives them autonomy to call
games in the preseason.
Interception by the Minnesota Vikings. The ball was tipped and
its picked off. And that’s Caleb
Halasi who has two interceptions. And Paul you take
a look at this team last year in
the turnover ratio 2520 I’m quarterback. When J.J. McCarthy
says the feet and eyes tell the
story. What blue brosmer. Fleming court. We’ll get into
that after the two minute
warning. It’s going to be first and goal for the Vikings. I
mean, Brosmer is just looping
things left and right and statistician here into his 19th
year. As the numbers pointer in
the statistician for the vast and ever expanding Minnesota
Vikings audio network. And also
one of my very best friends. And I love you very much, buddy. And
finally, we have another
luminary taking in the

  1. JJ is a rhythm player like I thought, he’s quick with his decision making and gains more and more as this game goes, and I knew he was way more mobile then people give him credit for, if every stays healthy he can definitely start kicking it into gear βš™οΈ in the second half of the year I might be biased but 11 game winning season with the supporting cast around him he won’t need to feel like he needs to play hero ball till he really needs to make 2-3 plays and that’s easy to do when you are around talented players
