Oakland Athletics vs Baltimore Orioles – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | August 9, 2025 MLB Season
A special night here at downtown Baltimore and we are so pleased to share it with you. It’s Hall of Fame night at the yard. Adam Jones Hall of Fame bobblehead the giveaway and Adam Jones himself delivered a wonderful emotional speech as he joined Joe Orselac and Tom Davis as the 60th, 61st, 62nd members of the Orioles Hall of Fame. Jim Palmer, Scott Garcelo, and Buck Shoalter making his return to Camden Yards, delivering the Jackets. And there were the first pitches from the three. A one hopper, a one hop strike from our friend. Yeah, thanks to Keegan. Toby didn’t get hurt. Well framed, the Orioles and the A’s will play baseball tonight. Here is their lineup featuring four 20 home run hitters, two through five, behind Lawrence Butler. A’s are managed by Mark Kay, year four. And they’ll face the rookie Brandon Young in his 10th major league start. Away we go. Young and Butler and we are underway on a Saturday night, August 9th. Had three runs all in the first inning. Only three hits, two of those in the first inning. And the pitching held the rest of the way. 3-2 fastball is way high and Lawrence Butler leads off the game with a six pitch walk. Butler takes a huge lead. Had a running start. didn’t go and then Chase slugs it to left for a Langalers home run. Up onto the home run porch and left field between the old and new walls. Shay Langaliers hits his 23rd of the year, tying Brent Rooker and Nick Curts for the team lead. And the Athletics have two runs and two batters. Yeah, they’re going to try to do what Orioles did in the first inning last night. Athletics record for most extra base hits in any month. Kurts drives the ball to center field. Greg Allen in his second Orioles game and the only regular might be part of the future older than 27 is Rooker at 30 into center field. That’s easy for Allen. And out number two coming off two runs unearned against the Cubs last start. He gives up two earned in the first inning but gets out of it with a strikeout retiring the final three. Jackson, they’ve had some injuries. They have had some ineffectiveness. Jackson Holiday one hot rocket off the glove of Luis Seras that’ll sit in right field and Holiday leads off the bottom of the first one two West little half swing down to Gioella who couldn’t get it there in time to third. He goes to the fast ball. Henderson puts it in the air to center. Goodbye. It’s a three-run homer right off the top of the wall and gone. And the Orioles before they’ve even made it out take the lead right back against the A’s. Well, obviously he did not read the stats that I read cuz this is not a horrible pitch. A quality pitch here or he’s going to hit it hard and he does that. And you throw a better one. Well, Ron, and that’s the point. And a major league game was that game 62. He strikes Al Mayo on a high breaking ball. So, three strikeouts after three hits. And it was hard to argue. And it was breaking ball strike three. Young gets her knees. Yeah. When they first came out with high definition cameras, it was against the Cleveland Indians. Two booths down. This one popped a short gunner. Uh, and then only gave up what, one hit the rest of the game. And there’s the breaking ball. So again, a young hitter, you know, most of the young hitter, if you’re, you know, high draft choice or you come through the minor, you can hit the fast ball, but looking to retire six straight after the home run. And Allen jacks one to deep center field, but Butler will track it down. So another one, two, three sequence for Perkins. And he lines this one in right. It drops in front of Jeremiah Jackson for a base hit. The ball scooted by Jackson. So Langalers takes second without a throw at 167 this year. 238. It’s quite a bit better. And he can hit for power. And he slugs this to deep left. And Rooker has put the A’s on top. The second Athletics home run out to the home run porch. And it is five-3. Maybe a couple of hundreds better at home than on the road. That ball shot to left. That’s a fair ball. Bangs off the green padding in the green and goals have another hit. Four for four Langalers, Curts, Rooker, and Sodro to begin the inning. And they do a fast ball to center field. Allen makes the call. No chance to get Sodom at the plate. It’s a sacrifice fly for Hernese, adding to a fourrun third. It’s the Brewers, Red Sox, Mariners, and now the A’s. This one to shallow left and Dylan Carlson will end the third. No, no. Well, that’s the problem. If you go for home runs and you hit if you hit 220, then you’re out of the league. But, uh, striking out was about the worst feeling you can get as a hitter. 158, 160. and they taught me, you know, that if you don’t, you know, show up and play, you can’t do anything to help the team. And Adam Jones, I’m Kevin Brown, Orioles Hall of Famer. Jim Pauler with me. Rob Long, our mass crew. Special night as Curts’s ground ball is knocked down and picked up by Holiday whose throw is late. So, Nick Curts is out again. We had, you know, throws about 94. Rooker having a big night now with a double to add his home run. Kurts to third base. He’s going to be waved home. Carlson had a long time picking out that ball in the corner. And Nick Curts comes home on the double by Rooker who’s now driven in four. And he gives the A’s a seven to3 lead. Another good change up throw to third is in time. Rutman big picks Ruter. Rutman, watch this. Perfect. You got a left-handed hitter. You don’t have the hitter in front of you if you’re right-handed. And then you can see Rooker. He’s trying to get a good jump. Doesn’t not a fast guy. Home run hitter on a 3-2 with two outs. Ground ball. Henderson can’t get there. He’s been getting everything of late for this one. Kicks off his glove into left for a base hit. Maria scores Beday days ago. And he comes in against Gioella. Seventh athletic of the inning. Urella to right. That’s a fair ball. Jackson stumbles. That’s going to score her. Here comes Urias around third. Holiday double clutch with the throw and it’s a little bit late. He just had a two-run double and is out at second. He’s going to score a run here on a long fly ball from Langalers that will stay in the park for a moment. Bounces into the bullpen. It’s an automatic double. It does save him a run as Butler going to have to go back to third. Perfect pitch. There you go. That ends the inning as the A’s score five and lead it big in Baltimore. I I never really asked them because didn’t matter. But what did it feel like when you’re a high draft choice and all of a sudden 69 and then won it in 70. You know, those folks are in the Orioles Hall of Fame as is at him. Meanwhile, Jack Perkins is trying to get into the A’s Hall of Fame. Yeah, you thought in a row. Yeah, they got all those runs. He might uh get a little tarnish. Not the case. Soderstrom off the glove of Gunnar Henderson. Still has time. Well, what if he came in 411 in his recent run? Show off his great defense. Mayo from first to Martin and they just nipped Leeday at the bank. That’s a 1, two, three, sixth inning. Can’t manage their secondary pitches. It’s not the case with this kid. Another cutter slicing into left center for Soderstrom. It’s a hard cutter. That must be thrown. Adley Rutman to second base. I guess the world will never know. There’s no way to look it up. Ooh, we want to take you to the seven. Walked and this ball is a dribbler pulled to third. West makes the play. Yeah. Does he ever I Everything’s moving. If you’re going to cut it at 96. Holiday makes a leaping grab on a softer shallow line drive. And once again, I mean, that’s just a quality pitch. You can’t hit it hard and he didn’t leagues. Jackson in the air right center field a little bit short of his first Camden Yards hit. You want to get a hit if you’re Dylan Cart. Laid on that fast ball down the left field line. Sodestrom planted his feet center field. Schuman and Grant Wolf ends two scoreless innings. Last I know you guys don’t pay attention to me. Right side there’s a base hit. That’s the Orioles first hit since the first inning. We haven’t seen him throw the kick change a whole lot. pitch to both sides of the plate and once again pitch well and have the Orioles score a bunch of runs.
