I agree with them that Demidov is the favorite. But, it is a smaller pool of Calder candidates this year, as of now.

I’d love to see Snuggy emerge as a league star this season. But, I’ll settle for 25-30 goals. It’ll be fun watching him. I think he and Thomas would be a lethal duo on a line.

  4. If I’ve learned anything from the past decade or two, it’s to be sceptical of these projections. I remember when Gretz vouched for Nugent-Hopkins being the next big thing. Bedard also didn’t live up to his hype so far. Lafreniére looks like a #10 pick. List goes on and on. Hughes vs Kakko was a hot debate at one point.

    I know it’s the offseason, but these projections with concrete numbers of goals are borderline worthless.

  6. While I think you worded this in an unpopular fashion, I do think that if Snuggy gets consistent time with Buch & Thomas with PP1 time he will be in the Calder conversation.

  9. OT, but I’m still salty that the Minnesota Golden Gophers lost in the championship with a top line of Cooley, Knies, and Snuggerud and guys like Faber and LaCombe on the back line.
