😱JCM Deserves ALL THE HYPE! Newton DOMINANT! Special Teams WAS TRASH! | WSH vs Patriots LOSS Review!
Hey, what’s happening y’all? It’s your Rico from Street Scores. And I know that was an embarrassing loss. I mean, that thing was ugly. But we’re going to dive into, first of all, you already know me. We’re going to talk about every single position group, quarterback, running backs, wide receivers, everybody that was out there. Now, granted, I left with like seven minutes left in the fourth quarter, but I feel like I’ve seen all I need to see cuz my biggest takeaways before we even dive into the video is that the backups, the third and fourth stringers looked awful. But at the same time, and this is not even a glass half full view of it. This is my honest opinion, the guys that we came to see looked really good. Like guys that we actually expect to contribute on Sundays and actually play for us in regular season game as starters or even at least heavy rotational players. Those guys look good. Johnny Newton, Jaka Crosky, Mary, Trinavian Amos, um, uh, Josh Connelly, um, even Tyler Owens had some flashes. Like, we’re going to dive into all of that and more, of course. Now, my biggest worry is special teams out of everything as far as like this potential guy as far as getting and we’re going to play on Sundays and this group is actually going to play for real. Ignoring the super backups that got throttled today. Special teams is my biggest concern, but I’m still optimistic about a lot of other things. Again, we’re going to dive into it, good and bad, for every single player, every single position group. We’re going to go all the way through it in order. But before we get into everything, make sure you stick on that like button. Stiff on the subscription button and stiff arm the bell next to that subscription button so you get notification each and every time I release an informative and a P& video just like this one. Make sure you stay tuned to all of the content. Appreciate y’all for staying tuned, man. Really appreciate y’all for everybody that pulled up to the live stream, left likes, donated, all of that type of stuff, became new channel members. Really, really appreciate y’all. The super chats, the cash app, it was beautiful. Even though the game was awful, y’all made it amazing. So, I really appreciate y’all. Make sure y’all pull up next week cuz I will be live streaming that upcoming Bengals game as well. And there should be some starters playing in that game, maybe even Jaden Daniels. So, you definitely want to pull up for that one. And without further ado, let’s go and dive into this video right now, man. Let’s get it. Adam, Adam. [Music] All right. So, first of all, man, hey, that when we were still in the third quarter, it felt like we had watched six quarters of football already. We need some the clock keeps running rule in the preseason or something, man. I know these backups want as many opportunities and reps and as much time as possible to show what they could do for a chance, a fighting chance to make the roster, but that was awful. Especially Mike Vrael out here challenging everything. Like, come on, dog. What are you trying to prove, man? You were already up like 30 something to like 11 or something like that. And we’re challenging. Like, come on, man. Now, one of them worked, but golly, man. We just trying to get up out of he made that game way longer than it had to be and it was already long. Also, shouts out to Logan Paul. Also, he brings up a great point. I completely agree. He said, “This is one of the reasons preseason is so important.” So, to talk some of y’all off the ledge, young players need game reps under the lights, especially these bright lights with everybody watching. Lots of penalties tonight, but this is the first live game a lot of these guys have played at all in their entire careers, let alone this off season. And it feels different when you were under the lights. And this is coming from Logan Paulson that has played, he’s been there, done that. And also, shouts out to Seaw Wall Sports. She brings up a good point. And she said that on Wednesday, Dan Quinn said the plan for joint practice and the game was to maximize evaluations. Now it’s basically the weekend. Now that this game is over, we’re going to the weekend. And the Commanders have a lot of tape to study to figure out the next steps for improvement. I like the fact that you look bad in the preseason, so you know exactly what to correct going into the regular season. And now everybody has homework. I actually like that. You know, you don’t necessarily want your team going out there and looking that bad, but everybody has homework. There’s nobody walking away like, “Yeah, man. That was a perfect game. I’m good to go. Get complacent. Get lazy. Now everybody, you got some homework. You got to work on this and this and this. You got to work on this and this and that. And I like that. Then even some injury updates before we really start to dive into everything. First, first of all, Percy Butler got hurt. He eventually went back in. Luke McCaffrey walked into the locker room. I don’t know what happened after that. We got to wait for an update on that. Quarterback Kavon Seymour limped and hopped off the field at some point, favoring his right leg. Don’t know what’s going on there. Quarterback Bobby Price hit his head hard on the turf on the pass break up. He almost had the interception. Then he hit his head on the turf like the back of his head. It looked like he may have been concussed for a small amount of time and he dropped the interception. He went into the blue tent. Um don’t know what happened there. And then Jaka Crosky Merritt, the the injury that of course scared me the most cuz this is the player that I’m most excited about out of every player that we’ve just listed out of all these injuries. And he went to the blue medical tent as well. JB Finley said that it was unclear what happened, but he walked out just fine from the blue medical tent. He had his helmet in his hand, but it was pretty much like they shut him down. Like whatever injury scare he had, they were like, “Oh, and and maybe it’s not that bad.” And they were just scared to throw him back out there cuz um he was hooping. I mean, before we even get to the running backs, while it’s still on my mind, I do want to point out the fact that Jakory Crosky Merritt, ignore that unofficial first dep chart that they put out where they have him as the fifth string running back. When we went out there in this game, and it was second stringers basically, it’s Brian Robinson and Austin Eckler as your starters. The very next running back, the first running back that went out there in that game with all of the second stringers was Jaori Crosky Merritt, before Chris Rodriguez, before Jeremy McNichols, before Dietri Felton. Jakori Krosky Mer may already be the third string running back like right behind Brian Robinson and Austin Egler. So, I think his spot is safe as far as making a 53man roster. I felt like it already was, but that just further solidified it. And then he went out there and bowled out the way that he did. We’re going to get to him when we get to the running backs, man. We definitely are. Also, Sewall Sports brings up a good point. and she said the veteran commanders are keeping the energy going on the sidelines. So at some point in the game, even when they were losing, the veterans were stepping up and showing very great leadership qualities as to keep the excitement up. She said it’s nice to see all of the excitement despite the score, the team very much still locked in on what’s happening on the field. So even during that embarrassing loss, um you know, the the the leaders and the and the the veterans were trying to, you know, the starters really were like, “Hey man, keep your head up. Let’s keep it going. Like you this is your moment. You got to go out there and prove you deserve to be on this team.” All that type of stuff. like this, you better take advantage of this. I know the score is ugly, but at least you got to do your job to show that you deserve to be on this team. And I mean, a lot of our problems just look like we were gassed. So, I don’t know if we weren’t practicing hard enough up to this point, but I’m pretty sure we’re about to work in our conditioning moving forward. Now, moving on to the quarterbacks, of course, Sam Hartman went out there and it was ugly. Literally, until the last drive that he had, he was ugly. He heated up in that last drive though. He finally started to get on point, but the I mean the first drive was awful. His first pass was ahead of KJ Osborne. Then Chris Moore dropped what would have been a third down conversion, but it was kind of like a throw behind him in in a way, but it was No, no, no, no. That was before that. It was like a a overthrown screen to KJ Osborne. Then Sam Hartman threw it behind somebody, so they dropped it because the pass was inaccurate. And then when Sam Hartman finally throws an accurate pass, Chris Moore drops it for would have been like a 20 yard gain or something like that on third and five. And then at least Ben Sinned on that drive had a five yard grab, but that was like the only positive play and that’s not even a monumental play. And then the next drive he was mi he missed a wideopen send it at one point. Then Matt Gay went out there and missed a 49 yard field goal. We’re going to talk about him when we get to the special teams part. And then Sam Hartman was late on an outbreak route later on in the game and he was trying to target Michael Galla, but he threw it late and he didn’t put a lot behind it. So it was intercepted by DJ James of the Patriots. I mean it was ugly, man. He put no like strength into that throw and then the throw was inside instead of outside. And it really sucks that that play happened because then when Jaylen Lane got open later on in the game, it seems like that interception where he threw it too close inside and didn’t put enough on it. It seems like he tried to overcompensate for that and then he overthrew Jaylen Lane in a similar route but to the other side of the field. So Sam Hartman was just in his own head and because of it, Jaylen Lane suffered sadly cuz we didn’t get to even really evaluate him in this game. We’re going to talk about him when we get to the receiver part of this video. But I mean, nobody ever did him any favors. He never even got the opportunity to show what he could do as a receiver nor a punt returner. And even John K at a certain point said Sam Hartman has been inaccurate all night when hitting guys rarely even giving them a chance to run. Even when the passes are completed, it’s inaccurate in a way the guys can’t even turn around and run with the ball. They’re always having to reach behind them or around them some circus catch to even bring it in. and he said he’s a bit unsettled and and on the interception he was a bit late but also no drive on the ball. It was just bad man. It was bad in every way possible. At a certain point he was four of 12 for 23 yards and an interception. So I was definitely I mean walking away from this game. We’re going to talk about Josh Johnson as well. Based off of this game, Josh Johnson looks like QB3 based off of everything I’ve heard and seen from training camp. Sam Hartman was QB3 after Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota. But I don’t know, this preseason game showed a little something different. But it’s important to note that Cliff Kingsberry was even asked earlier this week about Sam Hartman’s play in camp. And he said that it’s been up and down. And he said, “I think he has all of the ability. He’s smart, good footwork, solid arm, just a couple of days, got to take better care of the football.” And and you saw that with that interception, but he didn’t practice much in the spring. And he and Cliff Kingsbury basically provided the excuse like, “Yeah, this guy was hurt a lot of the offseason. So training camp right now is really his first warm-up where his guys had voluntary otaas, mandatory mini camps. Sam Hartman was not really healthy all the way until training camp. So maybe that’s the reason why for a lot of this. But then midway through the second quarter, he Sam Hartman finally settled in and started to make plays and some good throws. Once Cliff Kingsbury asked Sam Hartman to kind of start running with your legs, scrambling while you’re looking, you know, get out of the pocket. He started to finally heat up. He was a little bit more comfortable throwing on the run and things like that, especially running to the right. Now, it sucks that KJ Osborne dropped a perfect dot of a touchdown from Sam Hartman at some point in that game cuz that probably would have made up for a lot of the mistakes. But even if the stats don’t show it, you got to remember that perfect dot touchdown that he threw to KJ Osborne. It was a terrible game overall, but at least he had some flashes with throws like that. I mean, it was at a certain point that he went five for seven on that last drive. He made quick decisions. Shouts out to Jaory Crosky, Merida, and Ben Sinnet for some big-time third down conversions on that drive. It was a pretty good drive. And even Pedro Smith pointed out though that Sam Hartman had one of the best PFF grades from the Commanders at halftime. I thought that was interesting. That’s scary. I don’t know what PFF saw. But then Josh Johnson came out and he immediately looked like the veteran. Between the two, Sam Hartman looked like he was going into his second year. And then Josh Johnson looked like he was the oldest player on the team. He was so calm. He was so accurate. I mean, it was just he wasn’t perfect. I wouldn’t say he looked like a starting quarterback, but he looked like the veteran amongst a bunch of third and fourth stringers. I mean, he just looked better than Sam Hartman at the very least, man. And his interception, his only interception was a drop pass by Jacobe Jones. And it may have been even Jacob’s fault that the ball seemed overthrown. Some people are going to say, “Well, it was a overthrown ball, so it was a hard catch for Jacobe.” But I, it looked like Josh Johnson was expecting Jacobe to run the route a little bit shallower so he can get there quicker, and Jacobe just didn’t seem to run the route the right way. I don’t know for sure 100%. I would have to be in there in the when when they watched the all 22 film of this game again to know whose fault it was that the ball was overthrown. But at the end of the day, it went through Jacobe Jones’s hands. You got to catch that. And then early in the fourth, Josh Johnson was the lead blocker on a big running play. I don’t know if y’all saw that, but he was the lead blocker on like a big Demetri Felton running play that was like 20 or 30 yards. Josh Johnson was out in front blocking people. It was beautiful. Now moving on to the running backs. Jaka Krosky, Mary. Man, you know that’s who we came to see, right? At least me. I know that for me. Even before the game, during the live stream, I asked everybody like, “Who are the players y’all are most excited about watching in this game? Who do you have your eye on the most?” And I ranked them. Number one, Jakari Cross Meritt. Number two, Tyler Owens. Number three, Jaylen Lane. Those were my top three. Of course, I was very interested in a lot of the second year guys like Luke McCaffrey, Johnny Newton, and Ben Sinnet. A lot of the rookies, especially Chavian Amos and Josh Connelly, your first and second round picks who are projected to be starters for your team. But I feel like Jaci Kroska was the player that I was the most excited to see by far because he’s going to have to go out there and earn snaps and and carries going into week one of the regular season. As of, you know, before this preseason game, it wasn’t just automatically a given that he’s going to be getting any type of carries in week one. He may go into that game and not even be on the active roster. They may not even play him yet. You just never know. But he showed enough in this preseason game to where I think even if he’s not your starting running back week one, I think he plays, man. Shouts out to I mean, he had a couple of really good runs. You saw vision. He was very difficult to bring down. I mean, his contact balance was even better than I thought. You know, I’ve always touted since even before we drafted him. The reason I wanted us to draft him is because his explosion was elite. His acceleration, his deceleration, all elite. His agility, his change of direction, his jump cutting, his his speed, his home run hitting ability, all ridiculous. all better than every player on this commanders roster out of this running back room especially. I mean Brian Robinson and Austin Eckler have them as far as like nuance as far like pass protection and little things like that that comes with playing in the NFL for some years like they have. But as far as just pure god-given natural ability, natural talent that you just wake up with, Jaka has everybody in this running back room beat in a lot of ways. And his vision is even further ahead than I expected as well. But really interesting was the ridiculous contact balance, man. The first guy that tried to get him never got him. Either he jked them out of their socks or he ran through an arm tackle or whatever. Like the first guy never brought down Jakory Cross today. And that’s one of the biggest compliments that you can give a running back. Now granted, he did make a rookie mistake. He had one false start and then he immediately made up for that. And then even moving on to another running back, Chris Rodriguez was subbed in at like the start of the second quarter. And then he turned a negative gain into a two- yard gain off a pure strength. So he looked good at times as well. And then the next play, he even had a really good pass block to allow Sam Hartman to complete a first down to Michael Gallup. So Chris Rodriguez even had a pretty good game, but then JaKoRi came back in. So after Chris Rodriguez came in, I was like, uh-oh, that means Jakory Crosky is probably not coming back in this game. But then he did, and he was making plays even in spite of bad offensive line blocking. And I felt like the offensive line overall had good pass protection, but they didn’t block very well for the run. And Jakari Crosky Merritt said, “I don’t care. I’mma still make plays, man. I’mma still get crazy.” Grant Paulson even said, “Jacori Krosky Meritt is crazy shifty. I don’t think he’s been tackled by the first defender to touch him yet tonight.” The numbers, of course, seven attempts on 24 yards aren’t crazy, but the outing has been impressive, and he definitely helped himself depth chartwise and and percentage of carries wise. I mean that boy Jakair Jakori had that crazy catch and run to as well that was called back where he caught the ball out in space and made a couple of guys miss and picked up a bunch of yards. That was called back. Then how about the very next play on first and 20. He caught a pass underneath after Josh Johnson scanned the whole field, saw nobody open. Then after he caught the ball, he made like the first two guys miss with some ridiculous agility in like a phone booth scenario too. Like they were already closing in on him by the time he caught the ball. He was able to turn around and go uh uh uh and made two like a guy and a half miss, two guys miss, and then the they finally brought him down. But his agility is insane, man. And most importantly, he makes catching the ball look easy and natural. Like Chris Rodriguez had a dropped pass at some point in this game later on after we we saw Jory Cross leave the field and never come back. Once Chris Rodriguez like took over as the running back um at some point later in the game, Jakory Cross had no problems. No bobbles. play. Literally, the ball hit his hands and it stuck to him like a magnet or glue and he was good to go and he was able to make plays after that. So, as far as like running the ball, catching the ball, being a receiving option, all I would say at least a minuses at worst at worst. I didn’t get to notice any pass protection reps from him. So, I’m still trying to, you know, watch out for that. Like, can he pass protect cuz that’s going to affect how soon and how often he’s on the field on Sundays in the regular season, especially like early in the regular season. Um, but other than that, I mean, 32 total yards with eight yards being in the passing game, 24 on carries. I’m telling you right now, that’s your future RB1 from everything I saw, man. And Disco brought up an interesting point. He said someone on the radio compared Cross’s run style to Isaiah Pachenko. He said, I think that’s spot on. I mean, I would agree, but I think he’s a little bit faster, quicker, and more agile than Isaiah Pachenko. I can kind of see it. I I do see it, especially out there in that preseason game right there. But I think Krosky Mer is gonna be even better honestly like dead serious. And then like I mentioned earlier, Chris Rodriguez after Jakori Krosky Merritt came out of the game. Now granted, Josh Johnson kind of underthrew it a little bit. But if you want to make this Final 53 man roster, you got to make those catches cuz it hits your hands. If it hits your hands, you got to make the catch no matter what happened. And then shouts out to Demetri Felton because he had one play we had to stiff arm like five people and it looked crazy. It looked like a video game because he stiff armed all five people the exact same way. It was like the same exact animation for all five of them. And then he ended up picking up a big time first down. We needed that one. Now moving on to the wide receivers. And first of all, I just saw JP Finley upload a clip of AP and Adam Peters walking into the locker room. They did not look happy. And that’s a good sign that when you get embarrassed like that, you’re not looking for like the silver lining or anything like that. No, you’re mad. You’re upset. You’re like, this we got to do way better. It’s time to ramp up practices. It’s time to make a lot of changes and it’s time to coach them a little bit harder. we need to be better than whatever that just was. Now, moving on to the wide receivers, Chris Moore, big drops, couple of them, and he’s had drops in camp as well. So, you can pretty much scratch him off from making the team. I mean, at a certain point in the game later on, we thought he had a great catch, like a contested catch, and then he couldn’t hold on to it going into the ground after, you know, further replay, and it ended up being called an incompletion. Then you got Michael Gallop slipping on routes, leading the interceptions. That wasn’t good. Um, I mean, you could just tell that Terry and Booty, um, and I said Booty Baker, that that might be what I start calling them on purpose from now on. But Terry and his agent, Buddy Baker, they’re probably watching this game like, “Yep, see, this is exactly what I was talking about. This is exactly what I was talking about. This is what y’all like. These are the receivers you plan on going to this regular season with in a Super Bowl run. Okay, that’s a bet.” We had so many drops today, man. So many. But Tay Martin had a pretty good day and was catching his targets. Michael Galla started to heat up as Sam Hartman finally got comfortable, too. KJ Osborne was making some tough catches today, even though he had a couple of drops as well. I mean, he dropped that one touchdown. That was a perfect dot from Sam Hartman. So, I was a little dis I was a little disappointed in him on that one. But then Josh Johnson came in and that’s when Tay Martin really started to shine. Like, he really stood out from the rest of the team. Like, by halftime, he already had three receptions for 36 yards. He looked like the best receiver on the entire Commander team for a little while in that game. So, shouts out to the DC defender own Tay Martin over there. But Chris Russell even at a certain point, and this was like in the third quarter, he said that’s like six or seven drops on catches by the Commanders offense. That boy Terry man, pay that man. He said, “If you’re looking for assurances that the B&G don’t need Terry McLaren, burn this tape immediately, man. I know Terry is definitely watching this game like, “Yep, Mhm. Exactly how I wanted it to go.” But Tay Martin, man, he has some good catches, man. Even that two-point conversion catch that he had after a Jeremy McNichol touchdown, he contributed. And Jakory Brooks started to look really good and most importantly consistent versus the third and fourth stringers. I do want to emphasize the fact that it was against third and fourth stringers, but it’s not about the highs. Jakori Brooks has caught touchdowns from Jayen Daniels all camp. His problem is the drops. He hasn’t been very consistent today. He looked consistent and I feel like that’s a big step forward for him. And then poor Jaylen Lane, the last receiver we got to talk about. I mean, the problem is we don’t have anything to talk about. The one time I noticed him with a target on offense, he was open. Sam Hartman overthrew him for the reasons I already explained earlier. And then in punt return situations, every time he was back there, I think only like twice, there were immediately defenders on him, barreling down on him. And even the first one, I don’t even know how he broke that tackle. The defender is basically touching him as he’s catching the ball, and he still broke that tackle. I thought that was phenomenal from Jayla Lane. Then the second one, he slipped. But even if he didn’t slip, he probably would have been tackled immediately anyway because there was so many guys surrounding him. Now moving on to the tight ends. I mean, Senate had that really bad late hit on special teams. Like that was really bad. But other than that, he had a pretty good game. He came up with some good catches on third downs to convert some first downs for us. All type of stuff. Then you had Cole Turner. He had an ugly drop and then he had this amazing diving catch a few plays later on the same drive, but then Vable challenged it and the refs called it back. So, even though it was an impressive dive, at the end of the day, it was a drop. So, he’s not making the team. I was rooting for him, but it’s ugly. And then the very next play, it was a huge catch from my Georgia dog, Lawrence Cra, for almost 40 yards right there near the touchdown. But to be honest, the throw was more impressive than the actual catch. But I’m still rooting for my Georgia dog and Lawrence Cra at the tight end position. Um, but hey, man, maybe he fights his way on to the practice squad. even though later on in the game he had a couple of bad drops and stuff like that or a couple of bad plays but maybe still good enough to make the practice squad. Um but and then at a certain point he also like caught a a pass underneath. He showed no wiggle at all. Like if you’re going to wear 89, you’re going to wear Santana Moss’ number. You got to at least show a little bit more wiggle than that. So that was a bad look for Lawrence Kaja there. And then he also I mean the play he had an offensive pass interference and a drop in the same play. So, I’m rooting for him to at least make the practice squad, but that’s not helping your case at all. Moving on to the offensive line, Josh Connelly looked pretty good today. Like, overall, the pass protection from even the third and fourth stringers was good. I never remember like Josh Connelly and Sam Hartman really under the rest at any point in the day. It was just that the running the run blocking didn’t look great. But Josh Connelly looked good out there. I mean, getting in front of a screen, he got up to like the second level to block a linebacker very well. He barely played, but when he did, he looked good. that even Mitch Tisla said after an otherwise solid outing from Josh Connley, he just gave up too much ground around the age on the Sam Hartman interception, but all in all, a solid showing from the rookie, so he had one bad play. Outside of that, he was pretty solid. And John Comm said, “I’ve mostly liked what I’ve seen from Connley tonight. Occasional issue, but solid overall. Crossky Mary did have not did not have a huge run, but showed the vision, cuts, bounce that he’s shown in camps, finishes strong, too.” So, that was more so a compliment to Jakory Crosky Mayor, but that was a compliment to Josh Connley as well. And then also shouts out to Jan OI on Twitter. That’s still a funny name, but he pointed out the five highest graded commanders at at the end of the um half, the first half. Chris Paul with an 81.6. So that’s the reason I’m bringing it up for the offensive line right now, but Andre Jones had 80.7. Trinavian Amos had a 79.8, Michael Gallop had a 75.9, and Jaylen Holmes had a 72.9. Now, I don’t know what everybody finished with, but at the first half, that’s who looked good. And bleeding and gold brought up a good point that Chris Paul moves dudes in the run game. He is a mer. you can run the ball very easily behind Chris Paul. He always has. It’s the other parts of his game that aren’t really all the way there yet. And that’s why he’s struggling to make the team. And he’s basically a solidified backup right now, even if he does make the team. But you got to remember that this guy started for us at some point. Like just a few years ago, he was a starting guard for us. Now, he’s a guy that I’m not even 100% sure makes the final 53man roster. That’s how much better our talent is on this team. But don’t sleep on Chris Paul, cuz when he goes out there against backups, he makes them look like backups. He looks like he deserves a chance to potentially make this team. But overall, offensively, it wasn’t very pretty. Now, Cliff Kingsbury got a little bit in his bag, but it’s preseason. You’re not going to you’re going to keep things very vanilla. You don’t want to get too deep into your bag to reveal any things to to to opponents before the regular season. This is a game that doesn’t technically matter or count. And but there were times like we had 12 men on the field on offense at some point in the third quarter. Like, how are we doing substitution penalties? That’s shameful. So, you tend to want to blame like the offensive coordinator or the coaching staff for that, but I don’t know whose fault that was. And then also, I mean, just overall the offense. Again, this not necessarily Cliff Kingsberry’s fault, but JB Finley brought up a great point that Tresway had two point punts in three playoff games last season. He already had four punts tonight and he tweeted that at 9:58 p.m. well before the game was over. He probably had a couple of more after that. Now, moving on to the defensive side of the ball. Overall, we had really bad gap integrity. Really bad. It just seemed like there was just so many random runs, especially those easy touchdown scramble runs from both quarterbacks. Those were embarrassing. That was a lot of gap integrity problem right there. The the second one was the most embarrassing one. The one from Josh Johnson, I mean, that one looked like you if y’all go look at that highlight and speed it up, it literally looks like you should apply that music. Some clown show stuff like him just running around in circles doing who knows what. And then it’s just an easy basically jog in touchdown form untouched. Just crazy stuff. Also JP Finley pointed out the fact that the Washington front office spent the offseason bulking up the Dline to stop the run. Many of those additions of course aren’t playing in the preseason game at all. But still New England 100 plus rushing yards in the first half going 5.6 yards per carry. Not a good sign. Which takes me to the defensive line. Johnny Newton was I I feel like before he came out he was really good. He had that really good recognition and and completely obliterated a screen play from the Patriots. Then later on, he had that strip sack off of a a nice stunt move where he switched with the edge rusher. They kind of crossed each other. He came over and got a strip sack first fumble that was recovered by Jacob Martin on Drake May. And then the next defensive drive on second and goal, he had a really good pressure on Drake May to force an incompletion cuz there was a receiver slightly open, but Johnny Newton got in his face and forced him to throw the ball a little sooner than he wanted and that’s what caused an incompletion on that throw. It could have been a touchdown if it weren’t for Johnny Newton. So Johnny Newton was really good, but overall the the defensive line, I mean, it seems like they were getting blown off the ball. It seems like the Patriots offensive line, whether it was our backups going against their backups, our third stringers versus their third, their fourth versus our fourth, it just always seemed like our defensive line was getting pushed back. And I didn’t like that at all. I mean, remember last year we were like bottom five in yards before contact allowed per rush on running backs. So, we can’t have that. I know it was all backups out there last night. I mean, even Johnny Newton, he was like the highest player on our depth chart that probably played in this preseason game. And he looked great out there. They look like it, but it’s still inexcusable for even our backups to look that bad. And also notice that like a lot of our linebackers are getting blocked by guards and tackles. Like what was going on with our defensive line to where our linebackers are getting reached up to by by the opposing defensive line so often. You know what I’m saying? So, I kind of blame them for that. Speaking of the linebackers, I mean Kane Madrono was getting pushed around a lot, but it wasn’t from a lack of effort. I saw him really really trying to make differences in the game. like at a certain point he was like getting in the teeth of the play and like run plays like sticking his nose in there and really trying to get aggressive and physical and stuff like that. But at the end of the day, he’s still somewhat of an undersized linebacker. So, I mean, there’s going to be those moments where that happens. And again, especially when you’re having to go up against offensive linemen, you’re a linebacker. You’re hoping that you’re somewhat free, but he was getting blocked by offensive lineman getting up to the second level so often. And you would hope that he can deal with that like Bobby Wagner or Frankie Lvu know what to do with that. But Kane Madrono is an undersized linebacker rookie. So I’m not surprised that he struggled with that a little bit. But again, it wasn’t from a lack of trying. Now Dominique Hampton just straight up looked bad. But shouts out, speaking of Bobby Wagner and Frankie Luvu, Sewall Sports pointed out that Bobby Wagner and Frankie Luvu talked extensively to the linebackers, Dominique Hampton and Kane um Cam Arnold after a bad series that those guys had. So the leaders in the linebacker room stepping up to talk to the younger linebackers. I love that right there. Now moving on to the corners. That boy Trey Amos did his thing. The one time he was targeted and it was a deep ball. He had great coverage to force a bad throw from Drake May. He literally had to like throw the ball out of bounds so that Trey Amos wouldn’t have a chance to intercept the ball. Trinavian Amos was great today for the very little bit of time that we saw. I mean, he completely blanketed his man and it was just insane, man. I mean, he had that he had that guy all the way out of bounds how much he he covered that guy. So, that him as a rookie, he’s ready to go, man. He was step for step with Matt Collins, man. That boy hoop. So he, you know, he’s been having a great training camp and they continued in his preseason game. And then Noah Bonogy and Jeremy Reeves, I mean, they were playing really well overall. A couple of them, you know, that from both of them, they made a couple of mistakes, but overall they were playing with some passion and played pretty well. Like on top of the good coverage plays that he made in the game later on, No Bonogan did a great job sniffing out a trick play from the Patriots on like some weird direct snap or like a reverse. There was something to where the whole defense was going this way. Noi Bonogy was like one of the only players going the correct way and he was able to make a stop at like the line of scrimmage or behind the line of scrimmage. But I’m still not sure why Noi Benogy was still in the game by the time like the third and fourth stringers were out there like in the middle of the third quarter, but he did end up having that terrible play on fourth and one where not only he allowed the reception, but then he missed the tackle afterwards which led to a touchdown run after the missed tackle. So no bonogy great day up to that point. And then yeah, Carl Viggers had a terrible day. Hey, Bleeding Bird and Gold straight up tweeted, “Yeah, Carl Viggers, go ahead and fill out that UFL application, my guy. It was not pretty, man. He really struggled.” Mark Bullick even talked about um Carlin Viggers said he definitely struggled in the second half. Thought he had some disruptive jams in press versus the starters in the first half, but admittingly it’s 4 a.m. over here in the UK. I could have misread the jersey number, so maybe he was all right in the first half, but the second half he was getting picked on. Now, moving on to the safeties, Tyler Owens had another up and he was another guy that had like an up and down day. He has some really good moments, but also a couple of bad moments. Like he saved the Trayvon Henderson touchdown in the first quarter. Like after they scored that initial touchdown, Trayvon Henderson on the kickoff, the very first offensive possession that they had that they were already down seven up, seven to zero with, he stopped a touchdown. Like I think they ended up scoring a touchdown anyway later on in that drive, but he stopped the first one that could have happened. Could have been like a 40 50 yard touchdown run, but he took a good angle on it. but then he missed a open tackle in open space um later on in that same drive and then Trayvon Henderson ended up scoring. So it was like a really good play earlier in the drive, really bad play. And so I mean I just I was confused by the missed open tackle because he’s been getting a lot of reps, a lot of first team reps in training camp and I’ve heard he’s been pretty good. So I don’t know what happened there. But then again, Trayvon Henderson is a different type of guy. There’s a reason I felt like he was a top three running back in this entire draft class. I thought it was Aston Genty and then it was between Amarian Hampton and Trayvon Henderson who was my RB2. So I’m not surprised but you still got to be better Tyler Owens. No excuses. And then Jeremy Reeves, I mean he was really good today. He was one of the standout players. Now granted, he is a veteran. He’s not as young as a lot of these guys, but he we more so look at him as like a special teamer, but as a safety, he was out there hitting. He had great coverage. He was one-on-one with a receiver to stop a touchdown catch when it was like second and goal or something like that. Then you had Tyler Owens. Um he had a block in the back though. It was like in the following kickoff return after we allowed Drake made a run for that easy touchdown. He hit a block in the back. So that was one of the bad plays as well. But then he made a really nice run stop for like a two- yard gain later on in the game. So Tyler Owens good, bad, bad, good for the most part that I saw. So like a blend of good, a blend of bad, but then Jeremy Reeves got a block in the back penalty as well and the last play of the first quarter on special teams. But then the next defensive possession, he had an elite open field tackle to force a three and out. Um, and I thought it was a great stop. Now, granted, for some reason, uh, later on, he had another really good open field tackle and a hit, but they caught a penalty on it. I disagree with the penalty, and even the commentators said that even as Patriots were commentators, they were like, “Nah, I don’t agree with that penalty. That was a great hit by Jeremy Ree, but it is what it is.” And also want to point out the fact that I noticed that Tyler Owens only played with the second strangers from what I noticed in that game. I could be wrong. So, if that’s true, that’s a great sign. That means they view him as a defensive player as well, not just a special teamer. But I don’t know, maybe he just got hurt and then he stopped playing after that. I do not know to be 100%. But if he got out of that game and it wasn’t due to injury, then that means that they see they view him pretty highly and he had at least a decent enough game for them to kind of, you know, reertify uh with how they felt about him um to fortify, refortify, whatever the word is. I’m all over the place right now. I’m sorry football. I’m that words guy right now. But out of the way, moving on to special teams, man. I mean, to start the game, opening kickoff, kickoff, return for a touchdown by Trayvon Henderson. And Matt Gay, please don’t ever try to chase anybody down again, man. These kick returners are real athletes. You are a kicker. You’re going to hurt yourself doing that. And we can’t afford to lose you as our starting kicker. Even though you missed that 49 yarder, still don’t ever do that again. But Larry Iso, man, you better have these guys running infinite laps in the next few practices, man. Cuz what was that? Every practice leading up to the Bengals game until I see them again and see if they are performing better. That was awful, man. But we’re going to get there. We’re going to go. Again, I’m going chronological order with all of these positional groups as well. So, Matt Gay missed the 49 yard, which was really weird cuz again, even though he made his 37 yard field goal later, this guy for the I believe it was the coach last year didn’t miss a single third 49 yard field goal or less. And so, the very first kick he kicks for us and he misses it. And then also in training camp so far, I’ve been hearing how he’s been able to make anything he wants. He’s been he’s made 50 plus yarders like it’s nothing. Maybe he was just a little nervous. Maybe a lot of the problems that our team had was nervousness. I don’t know. And then later on, Tonio Gibson, you know, familiar face right there, had a 55 yard return. So, Trayvon Henderson had a kick return for a touchdown. And then Antonio Gibson, who may not quite be as fast as Tayvon Henderson at this point in his career, had a 55 yard, but maybe that’s a play where Trayvon Henderson takes that one to the house as well. So, that was horrible. Then Jaylen Lane’s first chance to return a punt. I mean, the Gunners were on him immediately as he’s catching the ball. I still don’t know how he made the first guy miss. That was very impressive. But the special teams coverage was awful. The special teams blocking was terrible. It was just completely awful in all. Not only in the first half, but the second half as well. I mean, it looked like on special teams coverage for the Patriots side when we were trying to return the ball. It looked like they had 15 guys. When the Patriots were trying to return the ball and we won special teams coverage, it looked like we only had eight. That’s literally what it felt like all game. And so, shouts out to the Podf father over there at the Braggy Zone. He brings up a good point that the special teams going to get their Awords handed to them this week at practice. penalties constantly. Opening kickoff return for a touchdown. Another big kickoff return. They are about to get worked to the bone. And then the start of the fourth quarter, Demetri Felton muffed a kickoff return. We had so many different types of penalties. We even had a kickoff, a special teams penalty, illegal formation. Like, how did we do that? We had every penalty possible. Block in the back, um, illegal formations. We had muff punts. We had all sorts of stuff, man. Late hits, every special teams penalty that you can basically think of, we had it, man. It was bad. But now moving on to others reviews of the overall game. I feel like y’all should definitely stay here for this one cuz I feel like they bring up great points and I didn’t want to steal their content and like include it in my material. So now is the time for how everybody felt about the game. So Seaw Wall Sports said, “Good news. There’s plenty to evaluate between now and week one. Death matters especially downs the down the stretch. But not so good news. If we’re dealing with the here and now, this does not look good at all.” Basically saying if we had to play a game tomorrow, I’m very worried about this depth. We’re not really worried about the starters with the depth and those guys eventually may have to play whether it’s due to injury or rotation is not looking good. Then D-Day said first half takeaways. Johnny Newton played well. Bill is as advertised. Amos is a dude. They finally have five quality corners on the roster. Josh Conny’s name was barely called, which is a good thing for offensive lineman. mentioned that in the in the live stream before the game even started that, you know, I want to see Jaylen Lane and I want to see Jaka Crosky Mar’s name called a lot cuz I want them making plays. But the the the the nature of corner and offensive line, the more you hear their names, typically it’s a bad thing. Typically, if you’re hearing about a corner or an offensive lineman constantly, the comment if the commentators are saying their names, it’s typically because something bad happened to them. So Josh Connelly not being heard, that’s a good thing. And then also said, I can’t wait for the Super Bowl era uniforms. I can’t wait as well. Then Mason Kenahan halftime thoughts. He said, “The good, no bonogy, but then again later on some point in the third quarter, not so good. Johnny Newton, Jeremy Reed, Jakari Crosky, Merit, and Tay Martin. The bad, eight penalties, special teams all around. And the tackling, that’s another thing. Tackling wasn’t good either.” Then Grant Pollson first half standouts. Crosky Merritt, eight touches for 32 yards, made strong cuts, looked comfortable catching the ball. All important. Trinavian Amos tight coverage the one time he was targeted and made a play in the run game. Oh yeah, I forgot about that. He made a really good tackle, too. So he was all around really good for you. Then Jeremy Reeds playing fast, most physical player on the field. I agree. No Bognney, nice job in coverage, draped over receiver on two occasions, but then again later on in the game after the first half in the third quarter, that’s when he had that bad play. But up to that point, Noi Bonogy was almost flawless. And then Tay Martin had three catches for 36 yards, got open and made sure-handed catches. So Tay Martin stood out as one of the better receivers in this preseason game. I’m not going to lie. Mark Bullock said his first half thoughts positives. Madrono looked physical. He was I mean he was dealing with a lot but he l again it was not for from a lack of trying. JCM was explosive. Sidd had some nice catches and was open on more throws as well that he just wasn’t targeted. That’s a great point. Coverage was good in general. Amos untroubled. Vigor’s pretty solid too but again we’re talking about the first half. He looked bad in the second half. Ree with some nice plays and Johnny Newton flashed early. Negatives run defense still getting gashed similar ways to last year too. Special teams gave up two long returns. Hartman was dreadful until his final drive. Wide receivers offered very little and more with two drops and Osborne dropped a slot fade touchdown as well. Then you have Pedro Smith. He said his stock ups for the commanders so far at a certain point in the game. I think this was like the third quarter. Trey Amos, Josh Connelly, Jakori Crosky, Meritt, Johnny Newton, Michael Gallup, question mark, and Tay Martin. Anyone else I’m missing? He asked. And then Mason Kahan said the good Noah Bonogany and Johnny Newton look great, which is good because they will be playing more this season than pretty much everyone else out there. That’s a great point. No Bogi and Johnny Newton are going to play way more than a lot of the people that they played along with and around in that game. Like I said, the most important people, the people that mattered the most were the guys that look good, and that’s really what matters. But it would be nice if our third and fourth stringers didn’t look so bad as well. He also said JCM has shown flashes of his shiftiness in his runs. Even though he hasn’t broke one for a big game yet, he turned negative plays into neutral or positive ones. And again, that’s one of the biggest compliments you can even give a running back ever. Then also George Carmy said his initial thoughts from the game. Positives. Johnny Newton was active and had a strong first quarter. JCM has some strong bursts and I can see why they like him. Cinn caught the ball effortlessly. That’s great to hear. No monogamy was all over the place. But then growth, not a negative, but growth. I like the way he worded that. Patient special teams look much better than Washington’s both kicking and covering, which is crazy because our special teams unit was one of the best in the NFL last year. And if anything, we added better talent this offseason. So why do we go from one of the best last year to looking like one of the worst in the entire NFL in the preseason? So, I’m confident that they’ll figure it out and get it fixed, but that was terrible. He said, “I still wish we wish wish we drafted Trayvon Henderson, and I’m not mad at that.” Hartman was erratic, inaccurate, and flustered. Kick coverage was horrendous. Commanders had too many penalties and undisiplined, and the commanders wide receivers were blanketed and very little separation. We need Terry. D that was me adding that at the end. DC Sports Dre. Not many things to like in this game, but Johnny Newton, Trey Amos, Bill Connelly, and Jeremy Reeds all look good from my point of view. And again, I really want to emphasize that the players that matter the most, the guys that will actually contribute on Sundays, all of those guys pretty much look good. So, I think we’re still good to go. Not the pan, not, you know, don’t hit the panic button. Then also, Ethan Gdau said 30 starters and regulars were sitting out of the Commander game. That being said, there’s a lot to change and clean up, especially on socials. And then also, before we get up out of here, one random thing. JP Finley said preseason rule proposal, running the clock in the second half. Don’t let the Packers propose it though or it will get voted down cuz for some reason the Packers every time they try to propose something it ends up not going through. But that’s a great point. Like I brought up earlier, man, we need some sort of a rule change to where this clock isn’t going this slow, especially in preseason games like this when it’s a bunch of backups. That was not enjoyable. But yeah, man, that’s the end of this video. Please get in the comment section. Let me know about everything discussed video. And of course, stay tuned cuz I’m I’m hitting y’all with videos every day, even some days, multiple videos. So, stay tuned. Of course, most importantly, let me know what you took away from this game. I know the the third and fourth stringers were awful, but let me know if you agree with me with the fact that the guys that matter most, the guys that are actually gonna play on Sundays look good, so we shouldn’t hit the panic button yet. The only thing that I’m really honestly panicking about, and that was a real red flag that we have to depend on when it comes to playing on Sundays was special teams. Special teams was awful. That’s the only real negative that I take away from this game. But other than that, guys actually look pretty good, even though we did lose 48 to 18. But either way, let me know all of that in the comment section. I’m going to try my best to read and reply to as many possible cuz I really want to know what y’all tell. I mean, I only watched the game once this time. I haven’t gotten a chance to replay it. I haven’t gotten a chance to see the all 22. So, I really want to know how y’all think cuz y’all may got y’all may have been able to see different things for me. So, I may be able to learn from y’all. So, I’m going to try my best to read as many as I can. Appreciate y’all leave a like on the way out and I’m going to cry later. I’m out. [Applause] [Music] We’re alive. [Music] That’s right. Oh yeah.

I would like the NFL Mandate Joint Practices with preseason games. The veterans can benefit from Joint Practices and the younger players can play the preseason games. The veterans really play in the second preseason games only. Our younger players need more work, period! it shown during the games.
Kills me to see guys like Sam Hartman in the mix, and the NFL giving Shadeur Sanders such a snub. I hope he balls out and makes the NFL eat crow.
Don’t be alarmed about the results . Just as an example, Skins started the game with the 3rd string qb, pats started 1st string. Other positions were also 1’s vs 2’s or 1’s vs 3’s or 2’s vs 3’s..
I even liked what i seen from kain!! He had a couple good tackles and thats what we was wondering we knew he could cover
Percy Butler’s injury must’ve been when Henderson trucked him
Was hoping we drafted Treveyon Henderson after his Freshman year at Ohio State
Boi a beast, exposed our backup Run Defense
Real question that I always wanted to know: How did Rico become a Washington fan in ATL? I love it, just curious.
Rico with the SFX at 24:26 had me dead 😂
No one cares about pre season
Newton wasn't dominant LMFAO
Too many holes in this roster. Facts
J c m Is at the bottom of the running back list?He didn't do nothing special that I Saw.
Maybe one run for like six or seven yards l o l
I don't blame Sam Hartman.I blame the garbage receivers that can't catch. They don't deserve to be on the practice one
The interception could have been avoided.
If the receiver made it to the catch point
Don't stress about special teams just Lane was out there making tackles I'll bet my whole salary he's not on kickoff to start the year
Why wouldn't you challenge and make sure your staff is set when Sundays come around??
Get use to J Lane not fair catching go watch the pr touchdown he had against Marshall he uses aggression against defenders best punt returner in the nfl
This game may have been the first crack in the wall. I have been yelling with all my might that the team chemistry is affected by how they treat their players. Even the players don't realize the effect on their psyche when they see their top player (in this case Terry) being mistreated by management. If this Terry situation isn't resolve soon; Then the team is shooting it's season in the foot
All in all it’s not just Terry we need to keep all the guys with speed on the roster ekeler and Kaz Allen needs to be involved IN the screen game heavily.
26:44 idk bro i seen him make a couple decent tackles bro
We gotta do a better job at moving the ball so we can get more looks at kicking field goals
