Brodie’s Breakdown: Philipp Kurashev

Philip Kurichev signed a one-year contract with the Sharks on day one of free agency back in July. And before this, he had only known Chicago, being drafted by the Hawks, 120th overall in 2018 and then playing all of his 317 NHL games there in the last 5 years. The 25-year-old forward is going from one rebuild in Chicago to another that’s well underway here in San Jose. You know, in my five seasons in Chicago, I think I played in every single position on the offense on the sheet there is. So, it was a lot of Yeah. Uh just um you know, I think that’s something about being a pro hockey player. You have to be uh ready to get to play whatever role that the coach gives you. And if it’s on the first two lines, if it’s center wing, it doesn’t matter. It’s you got to be ready for everything. and that that was that is and was my mindset all the time that um I’m going to be ready to play with whoever and and whatever roles. So I don’t know I think it’s just normal uh especially in the NHL there’s so many so many changes every day so that yeah you you you got to be able to adjust and to to play every every position every role and that’s something that I can bring because yeah that’s how I it’s been for for 5 years. So, um, yeah, I’m ready for for everything and and, uh, yeah, I just hope I can help as much as I can. Last year, Kuresv dealt with some injuries going into the season. It set him back nearly the entire campaign. But two years ago, it was a different story. His 18 goals and 54 points in 75 games is what the Sharks will be looking for here in 25-26.
