Let’s start making you some money with this matchup between the Kansas City Royals and the Washington Nationals. For the Kansas City Royals, it’s Bailey Falter listed as the starter in this one, while the Washington Nationals have Cade Kavali listed as the starter here. And you know, Kavali has had a couple of mixed results, you know, in uh in his career, but he did have one solid start back at the major league level. gave up just three hits over four and a third innings of shutout baseball with six strikeouts against the Athletics at home in his last matchup, but now faces the Kansas City Royals, who I keep going back to it this season. They’ve been one of those teams that have actually probably led baseballers among the league’s best in terms of games where they’ve scored three runs or less this season. But the offense has picked it up as of late in the last two weeks. They’re hitting 262 against right-handed pitching, just outside the top 10 in batting average. The strikeout percentage only at 15.7%. They’re hitting the ball well. They’re seeing it well. The the uh the Royals are also great in team OPS numbers. Even the isolated power numbers are above league average. So, this is a Royals lineup that’s starting to put it together. They’ve been playing their better baseball at home. And I think that Cade Kavali could have a bit of a a tough matchup here. On the other side, they had Bailey Falter, who really did not have, you know, the uh the best debut for the Kansas City Royals. It was seven runs allowed on eight hits, a home run over four innings of work against the Boston Red Sox. But if you look at Falter in the last couple seasons against the Nationals, he has a 4-0 record across his last four starts, but in his last five, a sub two erra. So, I think that Falter can have a good start here. I think that the Royals behind him can back up, you know, their new starter. And the Nationals, if you look at their numbers against lefties in the last two weeks, this has been a Nationals lineup that has really been, you know, that not been worth backing for much of anything. I mean, the Nationals hitting just 190, strikeout rate above 31%. Their team OPS numbers are some of the worst in baseball. and with a hefty sample size of 188 played appearances. That’s the most played appearances against left-handed pitching in the last two weeks in all by any team in in in Major League Baseball. So, I’m going to roll with the Kansas City Royals in this one.
