Pistons Sign Javonte Green To A 1-Year Deal
Yo, what’s going on guys? Quick little video here to discuss Javvante Green signing with the Detroit Pistons. Love this for Mr. Trejan Langden and JB Bigger Staff. Yeah. So, the report is going like this. We’re hearing that specifically from Sham Shirania that they’re finalizing a one-year deal, assuming that it’s a veteran minimum. And this was a guy who started the le year last year with the Pelicans, asked him to wave him from his one-year minimum deal, and then he signed with the Cavs. an energy forward who will kill you in transition, be a point of attack defender who can guard two through four and is a great corner three-point shooter as well as someone who can finish inside efficiently. Now, specifically his stats this past season with the Pelicans at 50 games and 22 minutes a night, he did average six points, just under four rebounds and assists steal a night while shooting 45% from the field, almost 35% from three. While in 18 games with the Cavs, he was only playing nine minutes a night, three points a game, and just being really just a bench player, still shooting, you know, like not like really being someone who didn’t come in besides garbage time. So, with all that being said, if you look at the the current rotation with this Pistons team, they just need some defensive bodies, continue to bring in some veterans to help replace the veterans that they might have lost this off season. Obviously, you know, Malik Beasley, Tim Hardway Jr., and Dennis Schroeder being the biggest one. And Javvante Green could kind of give you that scrappiness that Dennis Schroeder, you know, obviously different positions, but still values probably in similar fashion. So, if we wanted just to pull up what this depth chart looks like, just to give you guys just an idea of what they’re working with, I think they do have, in my opinion, a a decent combination of guys that for a team that if you’re a fan or at least hoping that Detroit’s going to be able to continue to grow and be a team that as this youth movement gets better, I think they’re in a great position, especially with Javvante Green now being the the third reserve for their forward positions with obviously Jayen Ivy K Cunningham Assar Thompson Tobias Harris and Jaylen Dur being the starting lineup Paul Reed Beef Stew Duncan Robinson Ron and Caris Lever probably making the second unit. Then you have Marcus Sasher Chaz Laneir. Then you throw in Javvante Green and Bobby Clipman as those guys make out the 14man rotation. The three two-ways Tulu Smith and Danis Jenkins were both Portsmith guys from two years ago that I was able to see in person. And then of course Kobe Jones who I love that I told you he was like the wing version of Josh Hart. But either way bringing in Javvante Green now behind Duncan Robinson and Beef Stew and Ron Holland and Tobias Harrison Assar Thompson. You have Javvante Green who Thompson and Javvante Green and Beef Stew and Ron Holland all play with this, you know, 100% hustle, zero non-stop, you know, zero to 100 non-stop motor that you want as a coach. So to me, I think this is a great signing and if you’re JB Biggerstaff, this is just another dog that you wanted to get into your building. And I’m really excited for this Pistons squad because I think this is going to be a team that’s going to be able to continue to build upon the season that they just had. Free agent forward Javonte Green is finalizing a one-year deal with the Detroit Pistons, per ESPN. Green, who split last season between the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans, brings defensive energy and versatility on the wing as he enters his seventh NBA season. Known for his athleticism and hustle, Green will look to boost Detroit’s perimeter defense and transition game in 2025-26.
