Pirates vs. Brewers Game Highlights (8/11/25) | MLB Highlights

It’s Jose Kintana. He and Freddy Peralta flip-flopping the rotation. Kintana coming off a win his last time against Atlanta. He’s won his last two last time out against Atlanta as you mentioned. Six innings, seven hits, three runs. Did not walk a batter. Seven punch outs, making career start number 16 against the Pirates. He’s currently 5-2 at a 323 earned run average. Did make a start last year as a member of the Mets against the Buckos. 3-2 to Pero into left sends Collins back and he’ll have a play for round number one. It’s the hair off the end of the bat brings up Tommy Fam to center back Lockidge and he makes the play. Two away. Fan hit it on the button but right at Lockidge. 3-2 pitch to Reynolds and a swing and a miss. He got him with a curveball. Strikeout number one for Kintana. He works a one, two, three. Top half. Andrew Heeney thinking his 23rd starting for a bounceback start here at American Family Field. Had one earlier in the season. Rice Terra appeared as a pinch hitter last night and drew a walk. So that extends his hitting streak to seven games and played appearance. Deep center back track and here one- nothing Brewers on a leadoff homer by Terra. Pick up right where they left off. Yeah. Amazing. Last two at bats for the Brewers. Home runs. Isaac Collins yesterday with the walk-off. And now Terang lefty versus lefty. Home run number 11. Deep drive into center field. I think he knew he got it. William Contrarus, the Brewers catcher. Swinging a miss. Struck him out on that change up. And that’s the second out following the leadoff home run by Terra. Christian Yelich day off yesterday coming up. There’s a pull it back up the middle. A base hit for Yelich. Well, both hits coming against coming for left-handed hitters against a left-hander. Extends the inning to Vaughn. And that’s ball four sets the stage for Caleb Durban. Look out and hit him. Another hit by pitch for Caleb Durban. And the bases are loaded. That one came down and in. Nothing he could do to get out of the way. Bases are loaded for South Freeland. Sixth in the National League with that 291 average, but not so great with the bases loaded. Stay here. pop up and it will over Pagarero. Heny gives up the home run, but the Brewers lead. The base is loaded. They lead one- nothing. Martin is hitting at 327 against lefties this season. 240 overall with a home run. This toward the right field corner a long way and Joey Bart has homered. It’s been a long time coming for the Pirates catcher. Opposite field, Joey Bart’s second home run of the season, his first since April the 7th. Boy, how nice it would be to get Joey Bart swinging a hot bat. One strike on Triolo and the pitch. Swinging a flyball out toward left center. That’ll drop down for a base hit. Triolo going to take off for second base. He was thinking that way all along and keeping his head up and looking out there and he hustles into second base. Runner unable to advance. One away for the top of the order and Leo Piger into center field and another error again. Triola running hard. He was around third base like he was going to make it right. Mike Rebelloo hold him up at third base. Nice job getting back. Watch his little turn at third base here. He’s thinking about it. Mhm. Infield comes in one and two and he got him. Big strike out for Keint Tana. Fast ball inside. More man to get in and Tommy Fam lead that go ahead run at third base in the third and a fly ball to center. Lockidge has a beat on it. Kintana gets Bam and limits the damage to the one run. So now Yelich one out and he drills it in the air deep into right center field. He’s admiring it as it goes back towards the wall and it is gone. A leap by Canario but it’s out for a solo home run for Yelli. Brewers back in front. Two to one. Christian Yelich goes deep for the 22nd time this season. He knew he got it. Boy, Heene is going to want that one back. Here’s Andrew Vaughn. Ground ball chopped up the middle. Tough play. Second baseman Gonzalez. Backhand. Long off balance throw. Not in time. It’s an infield single for Andrew Vaughn. With one out, he’s aboard. Bunts it up the third baseline. It’s a good one. Connor Falefa bare-handed pick and throw on the run. He got him. What a play. Runner at second. Two out for Sal Felic. Ground ball hit through the right side. Freelick into right field. Around third comes Vaughn. They got a shot. Reynolds throw to the plate. Off the glove of Bart who tried to reach out, catch it, and slap a tag on. Up to second on the throw goes Freelick. He’s got an RBI single and the Brewers have a three to one lead in the third. Lockage struck out his first time. So two runs home in the inning. The O2 pitch. Lockage breaks his bat but bloops a single into right field. Around third comes Freelick again. Reynolds has a chance. Throw to the plate. up the line and Sal is safe. Brandon Lockidge with an RBI single to make it a three-run third. Brewers have a four to one lead. So he’s at first. Here’s Joey Ortiz. One, two. Little blooper into right field. That’s got eyes. It’s falling in for a base hit. First to third goes Lockidge. Throw from Reynolds just lobbed into the second baseman on a single by Joey Ortiz. It just keeps coming. Lockage at third. Ortiz first. There goes the runner for second. Pitch is high. And they throw through to second base. It goes off the glove of the second baseman, Gonzalez. In from third on an error comes the fourth run of the inning. Lockage and the Brewers have a 51 lead in the third. Joey Bart bounced the throw. I’m surprised they even tried to make a throw on Ortiz’s steal of second base. And Bart gets the error. The Pirates are thinking when it rains it pours. Runners on the corners for Vaughn. Base hit and a walk for Vaughn. squares to Bunt. Pushes it up the first base side. A race to the bag. Heeney will tag out Fawn, but he’ll drive in a run in the process. There you go. Big home run hitter. Drops down a bunt. Pushes it. If he gets that baseball by Heene, it’s going to be a base hit and an RBI. Gets an RBI, but now talk about a selfless play. Joseana out there for the sixth after a five pitch fifth inning. Slow roller. Kintana’s got it and gets it to Pawn who puts that foot on the pillow to get Pigarro. Well, not a great sign here as Kintana was going over to get that and bending over maybe something with the leg. He winced ever so slightly. Brad Epstein, the head athletic trainer, making sure he’s okay. Going full speed, bending over. He’s going to stay in the ball game to center field again. Lockidge back at the wall and he makes the catch. Foot got hung up in the notch out there. Still able to bring it in and get another out on Tommy Fam. I tell you, Jose Kitana using every inch of American Family Field. That one right up against the wall. Kintana barking at Tommy Fam. Got to assume it was Fam that was barking out at him from the dugout. Double for Reynolds with two outs. And he’s aboard in front of Nick Gonzalez. Gonzalez a squibber. Kintana dropped the baseball, but Vaughn is there. Touches the bag. Wow. And out on the play is Gonzalez. Talking about not giving up on the play. Well done, Andrew Vaughn. Isaac Collins will lead off the bottom of the sixth inning. Grumble to first. It’s under the glove and into the right field corner. Collins at second, not stopping on his way to third. The throw gets by and Collins is going to be fine. Standing at third, it is a triple for Collins. Infield is up for Contraras and a base hit. 71 Brewers on a knock by Contraras. Gets on top of it and hits a bullet in the right. How about that? Shelby Miller takes over on the mound for the crew. A 7 to1 Brewers lead. Miller making his second appearance with the crew. His 39th overall. He has a 193 RA and out away from a 10th straight victory. Gonzalez ground ball. Miller off the mound. Bare hand pick up. Throwing a first. 10 in a row for the Brewers. What a run. What a run these guys are on. Good for them. Doing everything right. All things golden for the Brewers.

  1. I tell you. Im 53. This FEELS like 1982. No other year has had this… feel… like, they can win every game going in. This has been an amazing year. Im juist saying, dont get yer hopes too up… but it kinda does feel like 1982

  2. I mean WOW!!! MURPH'S got this team playing aggressive. I think I've seen us score more runs on forced throwing errors due to being so aggressive on the basepads. We're creating so many opportunities to score without needing the long ball…but lately even the dingers have been there. From all over the line up. This team is amazing.

  3. Would be really nice not to know who’s gong to have a good play, changing the coverage in the highlights depending on the team who gets a good play ruins it a bit. That being said, come on Brewers, what a season 😊

  4. Special season going on here but unless there is playoff success the negative press on Brewers will keep saying, "I told you so." This group needs to squash all that past playoff failures which came after season success. Stay focused and humble.

  5. Joey Ortiz has been heating up lately. His average has jumped some 30+ points. So to all of the Joey Ortiz, we need E.Suarez people, Joey Ortiz is one of best defensive players in baseball and his bat will improve. He has been an extremely valuable asset for this team!

  6. Once again when you make a mistake against the Milwaukee Brewers they will usually take full advantage of it and score. This team, day after day after day keeps finding ways to win. And again to all of those experts who said the Brewers needed to get a power hitter, they responded by saying WE ALREADY HAVE POWERFUL HITTERS! And besides you can't win by Home Runs alone.

  7. Talk about unexpected genius? Pat Murphy has one of the hottest hitters on this team power wise, and he bunts, and he did it perfectly! 👏 Pat Murphy has to be THE BEST Manager in ⚾️Baseball⚾️ right now!

  8. Shelby Miller will be an major asset for the remainder of the season. One more example of a excellent decision/trade by our General Manager!👏👌👍👏 I am so glad that the Brewers didn't get rid of any high-end prospects at the trade deadline. The Brewers are proving that A) They DO have power in their line-up, and B) the Chemistry that this team has is incredibly special! This team has been absolutely phenomenal this year. I thought last season was impressive, and it WAS, but WOW this team is beyond incredible. Every expert from ESPN, SI(Sports Illustrated), the Sporting News, and a few other supposed expert prognosticators didn't give the Brewers any kind of chance of even making the playoffs. They cited the fact that they got rid of two of the best pitchers in ⚾️Baseball⚾️. That being Corbin Burnes and Josh Hader, but the thing that these experts didn't take into consideration is the fact that this team has a really special Manager, as well as a group of young players who are hungry, dedicated, and committed to winning. Guys like Jackson Chourio, Brice Turang, Sal Frelick, Joey Ortiz, Caleb Durbin, William Contreras, our leader Christian Yelich, newly acquired 👑Andrew🔥Vaughn👑, and the emergence of Isaac Collins has been absolutely amazing! Add to that this team has one of the best Pitching Staffs in ⚾️Baseball⚾️ right now. Plus the rise of some of the most incredible rookie pitchers has been nothing short of perfect. Jacob Misiorowski has took the Baseball world by storm! One of the best parts of this season was seeing Brandon Woodruff return from injury, and not just return but he's been extremely effective, efficient, and dominant. To close we have the league's leader in Holds, one of the best Closers in ⚾️Baseball⚾️! Again! So the experts overlooked this team, again. The supposed Worldwide Leader and expert of Sports, ESPN didn't give us a chance. This seems to fuel the Brewers players, coaches, and fans. Keep overlooking us, that way you won't have any idea what to do once the Brewers UNLEASH THE FURY!

  9. I am a (Scottish) Indians fan since 1992. I was a Little League Coach at RAF Alconbury for several years…The Brewers have been a secondary joy this season. Was also a Schlitz drinker in my youth.

  10. 97’ here been watching the brewers since 04’ I’ve never seen a more complete team 2011 hurt my soul hopefully the brewers can get to the world series this time around they’re rolling 🔥
