Umpire wasn’t paying attention. Adell got in the batters box, looked at the pitcher, looked down at the plate, looked at the pitcher, then back down to the plate. The ump, who wasn’t paying attention, only saw him looking down at the plate and decided that Adell didn’t engage with the pitcher. Ump called a pitch clock violation for a strike. Adell had every right to be pissed. MLB and this ump need to eat any fine that might be assessed to Adell.
ridiculous and to the angels credit, they didn’t miss a beat!
also, teodosio’s energy is contagious. he plays ball the blue collar way. his speed on the bases is something this team desperately needed. his defense is awesome. I would love to see this guy as our everyday CF next year.
No one pays money to watch the HP umpire toss a player, over a pitch clock violation, and minor argument from the player. I don’t even like the LA red team (I hate the LA blue team), but that was ridiculous.
