Whatever happened to the player spotlight every time a player scores a goal? The hockey news got me thinking, I think they do have the spotlight from time to time but not on every goal. I have no clue why they would get rid of this unless they don’t have someone to control the light on a nightly basis. Lol.

  1. Remember in Calgary they would light up the opposing goalie with a red light. Steve Mason got sunburned

  2. They used to have something even weirder. The official NHL photographers used to have something in their cameras that when they pressed the shutter button it would literally fire the phosphorus lights the ceiling to make the ice brighter. Once you saw it, you could not unsee it. Thank God they got rid of that, because once somebody pointed out to me I couldn’t help but look at the ceiling all the time to see when the lights were flashing. That meant one of the official photographers was taking a picture

  3. You know what I miss. The big spotlight on top of the arena they used to light up on game nights. I always called it the bat signal and I sure wish they’d bring it back.
