D-backs vs. Rangers Game Highlights (8/12/25) | MLB Highlights | Arizona Diamondbacks
That was a fun wild ride last night. A big win for the Rangers. So back at it again, the second game of this three game set tonight. And so now Jack lighter, the 25 year old rookie here tonight. 405, a 52 walks 93 punch outs. 2, 21 batting average against the game’s first out. That will bring Kell Marte to the dish and a weak tapper toward third, a high hop so young has to hustle it and he does in time and they get the speedy could tell Marte two away. This is not an easy play with a guy that runs as well as Marte. Here is Corbin Carroll homered again yesterday and a swing and a miss on a 100 mile an hour heater near the top of the zone. Carroll is out on strikes, lighter, retires the side in order. It’s right hander Anthony pitched really well against the Padres. We like to see more of that when he’s ahead in the count. The opponent’s batting average is 105 1 up, one down. And here is the dreaded corey Seger. We know he’s been a diamondback killer. It’s good when he comes up with nobody on base. Second base for Marte spins and throws to tell a spectacular play at second. And they finally figured out a way to get Corey Seager out range check right out of the chute. Second batter in the game, Seager bidding for a base into right field. Look at spin and throw. I can’t tell you how hard that is to make an accurate throw when you spin the way Catel did for a couple of quick outs and he takes on the right handed hitting Marcus Simeon swung on and missed Simeon down on strikes and both pitchers ready to go. It’s a 1 to 2 to 3 inning for Scoter aboard with a leadoff single here is Wyatt Langford and even though Jake Berger might have been the really the catalyst in the ball game for the Rangers was Langford and his three run homer in the sixth, the bouncing ball towards the middle three to center field. A base hit Peterson stops at second Langford with a single back to back knocks for the Rangers to begin the bottom of the second inning. Here’s rowdy game tying home run in the ninth inning runner, Collin Peterson steals third, uncontested. You talk about catching some folks by surprise. Can’t help but laugh about it. A 1 to 2 count. Now on tele strike three called and there is one down and that’s a huge out to get given the stolen base that just occurred. Here’s a Garcia Men in the corners and one out there goes Langford bouncing ball over to short perdomo plays to first. That’s it. And it’s good enough to get a run home by putting Langford in motion. The Rangers avoid the double play and they’re able to scratch a run out here and they have the 1 to 0 lead and Josh Young with a runner in scoring position, looked it high in the air down the right field line territory and locklear reaching over the railing makes the catch in the camera. Well, and that’s going to do it for the Rangers here. The bottom of the second lays Alexander leading off the home and out to left center field last night. Bidding for one more. This one is going to go Alexander, another one in August for blaze. We’re tied at one, all four of his home runs this year have come in the last nine games. He is on fire. He really is four seamer belt high, middle of the plate. That’s what you’re supposed to do with a pitch like that. Toasted that thing. That ball was absolutely smoked 105 off the bat. It went 411. Now, a double and a walk to Prado and Marte, they’re building an inning here out to the mound as Corbin Carroll steps up, swing and a miss he chases the changeup that fades off the plate. And drops below the zone lighter with a couple of strikeouts, both against Carroll and there are two outs in the top of the third and it’s outside ball four is going to load up the bases with that two out walk that brings up Adrian del Castillo 2 to 1 pitch and there’s a high pop up right field, a play for Garcia and the inning is done, but he leaves and for the second straight inning, the Rangers have two on and nobody out to begin the frame. And that brings up Coys. This is not a situation you want here. Two guys on with nobody out and Mats that down to first throw to second and it’s knocked down by smith hit him right in the back and everybody’s safe. Well, the Rangers get a break there. I know the bases are loaded with nobody out. Marcus Simeon, he’s one of the best and he gets an opportunity up there and the breaking ball swung on hit high and deep to left center field. Thomas racing after it on the track at the wall. He makes the catch just in front of the bullpen. Higgy tags from third. Smith goes to third from second. It’s a sack fly for Simeon. It gives the Rangers a 2 to 1 lead one out. Rangers looking for more. Jock Peterson laced the single into center field his last time up swing and a miss he struck him out and a big time. Second out reported by this starts below the zone ends up in the dirt. He gets a swing and Miss Langford laid off the slider. Second walk issue to the inning load the bases for row with two outs hits a high fly ball that hangs up for Alex Thomas in center and survives but the Rangers get the lead. They have a 2 to 1 lead after 3 to 1 down and that brings up Orban Carroll 1 to 2 pitch and that is in the air. Center field. Langford chasing back on the warning track makes the catch. Goodness me made the catch and just had enough time to catch himself before banging into the wall. He can smile about it. Now, what a play with two outs and nobody on here is gurriel and that’s pretty good strike three called Gurriel down low inning a 123 for lighter Cole win on the pitch point 99, a first rounder by Texas out of high school. So here is win to face Del Castillo to start things off. Del Castillo splits the gap in right center Langford over to cut it off but it gets to the wall and is in at second, a stand up double his bat come around, he got himself into a good count, got a fastball belt belt high, a little bit on the outside part of the plate, but full plate coverage and stroke that ball right to right center. Here is Locklear. He’s got a couple of hits 2 to 2 pitch and a swing and a miss gets his first strikeout of the night. Locklear retired for the first out of the sixth inning. Don’t want to let that run stay out there at second. Got to get him home. Here’s ALEC 0 to 2 swing and a miss another splitter this one in the zone. So back to back strikeouts for a win after giving up the double to Del Castillo two outs and bring up Blaze Alexander and the count is full. Now here it is strike three called a cutter at the top of the zone firmly in there, strikes out the side to put the Diamondbacks down in the sixth. What an inning for Cole wins. New Rangers pitcher Robert Garcia herrera Perdomo and Marte 91 to 2 due up for Arizona, one to two soft ground ball. It’s off the glove of garcia and Then he kicks it. Now he tries to backhand flip and throws it away and herrera is going to get to second. Oh my goodness. Some pitchers give other pitchers a bad reputation. That was an example. This is an example of how not to field your position that the ball is going to be safe. Young was too quick with the exchange and the Rangers are just spilling their lunch all over their laps here in the top of the seventh, the D backs are in business and they haven’t hit a ball more than, I don’t know, 50 miles an hour, Marte, the switch hitter with Caroline, none of the corners. Nobody swung on and a ground ball to the right side. Long run for Simeon moving to his left. Has it throws to first late herrera scores and we are tied at two well placed ground ball by Catell did not hit it hard at all. But by the time Simeon who was playing more towards the middle of the field was able to corral that ball. He was too late with his throw. What a crazy innings carroll zero for three and he’ll lift it out to left smith makes his way to it and we haul it in one away one to zero to Gurriel. He swings and golfs one weekly in the early Smith in now moves Laly towards the line and makes the catch. Garcia has done a nice job of bouncing back here to get two tough hitters strike three called a fastball below the zone. But Nate Tomlinson with that inconsistent strike zone gives one for the Rangers there. Garcia works out of more damage. An unearned run ties the game one up one down and that’s going to bring up this ball hit hard out to left center field, that one’s got a chance and it bangs off the fence heading to second base. I just missing a home run and the Rangers are cooking with one out in the bottom of the seventh. And that’s going to be it for Woodford with the Lefty Smith coming up. We’ll see if the Rangers go to their bench. This might be a Sam Haggerty situation in this moment. So Bruce goes to Sam Haggerty off the bench to bat for smith against the left hander Jalen swing and a foul tip and it’s held on for strike three. He made quick work for the pinch hitter. Now there’s two outs and a base open and corey Seger coming to the plate including the postseason, 10 extra base hits in his last 13 games against the Diamondbacks. He’s been a problem swung on grounded opposite way. Third baseman Alexander has it and he throws to first in time. That’s going to do it. The Rangers offense, they get a runner to second but cannot bring him home second straight game. We’ve seen the Phoenix native Danny Kulo clean inning in the ballgame last night, struck out a batter and got two ground ball out and here’s Jose Herrera herrera swings and misses and that strikeout begins the top of the order and geraldo strike three called has some beef here with Tomlinson but he strikes out looking and they’re two gone. Now we’ve got tore loo coming out and he just got tossed. There have been five strikeouts for the Diamondbacks, another three for the Rangers that have been so blatantly out of the zone strike three or in the zone that wasn’t called, it’s an automatic ejection to argue balls and strikes. We know that and he knew that when he went out there is enough already could tell Marte stands in Marte one for three. He’s got to be looking for a cutter down and in deck and the Diamondbacks have grabbed the lead with two outs and two strikes in the ninth inning. It’s 3 to 2. There’s no secret knew what was coming, but this time he timed it and boy was that a rocket ship to left field , just a no Doubter flush off the barrel deep into the left field seats and the Diamondbacks hit throw 3 to 2 for Arizona, the right hander, the rookie out of Venezuela, should he hold the fort here for the Diamondbacks? This would be his first career big league save. First up for Texas is a garcia jammed him. He ran that thing in there at 99 and just ate him up here is Josh Young. He is 0 to 3 swung on, hard hit ground ball diving is Marte behind the back at second and he throws to first and somehow that’s out number 2, 101 miles an hour off the bat right up the middle kyle Hika. The last chance for the Rangers down by a run hard grounded to short Perdomo has it and his throw to first is in time ball game Diamondbacks win by a final score of 3 to 2 and the Diamondbacks a chance at a series win tomorrow afternoon.
Corbin Carroll and the Arizona Diamondbacks take on Cory Seager and the Texas Rangers on August 12, 2025.

SNAKES ALIVE
Home plate ump was making a great case for ABS tonight.
Another terrible game called by the umps.
Wows the umps are getting worst!
One of the best "Ball don't lie" home runs in a while
PDL came out of dugout doing his best to flex – Then……..head ump Tomlinson backed him up straight to dugout
That strike called on Del Castillo from Garcia in the 7th is the worst call I've seen since I started watching baseball 4 years ago.
Go Dbacks! Nice to see Ketel stepping up and pulling there team over the finish line with him πͺ
we are so back
Nice win D Backs
