6. Awesome job. This is not what you’re looking for at all, but bass teachers are gonna bass teach. Watch yourself back and notice that your thumb’s moving toward the bridge and away from the last fret through a few of the sections.

   For the best and most efficient slap tone on a fretted bass you want that thumb bone to always strike the metal string right above the metal fret. It can feel dynamic to let it roam a bit (like any other time you’d deliberately choose your positioning for fingerstyle – thicker at the neck, tighter and brighter at the bridge) but slap is one technique where you don’t want to let it.
