Dude just got back today !! Absolutely hustled and legged out a hit in the top of the 8th in a close game. Hit the bag hard with his left leg fully extended… ugh 😔

  1. Poor guy was sobbing- it must be terrible to finally be healthy and then you get injured again

  2. What a shit break for him. Hopefully the front office gives him some extra leeway whenever he’s ready to come back. Injuries plus this much time off can derail a guy and he was just proving his worth before his last injury.

    Rooting for him hard.

  3. Seemed like he was really far inside the baseline for that whole run and hit the bag awkwardly. Tough break

  4. Any confirmation on injury? Looks like he hyperextended his knee in the replays. Which isn’t great but far better than a torn acl or torn Achilles.

  5. Funny how podcasts and people asking why are the cubs carrying 3 catchers and the next day amaya goes down and out

  6. Don’t often get overly emotional during sports. Minus the World Series. This legit hit me, could just see every ounce of heartbreak in this kid. God damn

  7. That made me sick to watch. Like, stomach is currently sitting on top of the balls of my feet sick.

  8. I audibly said ‘no’ the man was proving himself this year and he goes down not once but twice. The Baseball deities have no mercy

  9. Would’ve been nice to see a few more Cubs players come out from the dugout to support him while he was down. He was clearly emotional and his teammates were only a few feet away..

  10. Damn. Is there a goat roaming around the Cubs these days? Poor guy worked so hard to get back. I hope this is just a sprain.

  11. According to Counsell: left ankle sprain. Negative on x rays.

Feels like good news even though it isn’t.

    Get better soon Miguel

  12. It’s sucked to see In person. Some dick kids in front of me were cheering for god sake

  13. Experiencing Hee-Seop Choi in person makes anyone conscious look like a minor situation.

  14. Dodgers Fan Here, took a look at his career, TJ, fought back from that, established himself in 24’, and now two injuries this year. Fucking Sucks, hope he takes all the time he needs to recover. Whether it’s this year or next year, I hope that he comes out and dominate in 26’, because he seems like a really cool dude

  15. It was really rough to watch. And I know the only thing he could think about is being discarded. It was really nice to watch the blue jays 1st baseman rubbing his shoulder. Every player on that field was probably thinking that could be their career ending situation

  16. Ugh man I saw this last year with sergachev in the NHL.

Must be one of the most brutal feelings to get injured again immediately.

    Pulling for you miggy

  17. Shout out to the classy behavior of the cheering Toronto fans as Amaya was carted off the field.

I felt awful for him. I saw him (up until his first injury this year) as a solid lineup addition on top of his catching skills. It really sucks to see him get injured again.
