Jokić’s elite defensive hands. Most steals past 5 years

Huge Jokic fan. I feel this stat is still misleading. If you watch the games, you know he is clearly a below-average defender for a big man. I think he gets so many steals because he knows he can’t guard at the apex so he focuses his attention on pass deflections. That isn’t to say his steals aren’t impressive, but are rather a byproduct of his inability to protect the paint as a traditional center.
