Fun pic, if you're a masochist–FanGraphs odds that Cubs and Brewers would win the division over the course of the year. I'd add more, but I gotta head to Milwaukee and get my free George Webb burger…

  1. An 11 game and 12 game win streak will do that…. Especially while the other team goes 1-2 every series.

  2. I mean even if the Cubs were playing .600 ball the last month were probably still 3-4 games back. Brewers been playing like .800 ball for a month and a half. I’d say this is less of a collapse and more of a ‘69 Mets situation. I mean the Brewers have an .867 winning % in the last 30 games…. .867 that’s fucking bonkers.

  3. Brewers are 37-9 since June 18. That’s closing in on a third of season at a 130 game win pace. If Milwaukee takes the division they would have earned it.

  4. Even if the cubs weren’t scuffling the pace the brewers are on still would’ve overtaken us. The difference is the cubs could’ve at least kept it close

  5. yeah the cubs haven’t been super hot but damn the brewers are just insane recently. i’m hopeful that they’re peaking too early and start to fall off a cliff once october hits

  6. Fuck Wisconsin. FTP. FTB. And let’s not forget even though they barely matter, FTC

  7. You know it bothered me 2 weeks ago and then brewers ripped off another 10 game streak.

It is what it is and we just gotta get right before we starting thinking about them again

  8. At this point, unless the team really turns around, this is a 1st round playoff exit team.

  9. It’s not even like the Cubs are playing terribly- look at the Yankees’ total collapse for that. The Brewers are just playing like they don’t know how to lose a damn game.

  10. This chart basically represents every binary choice in my life. Soul crushing, but it must be viewed.

  11. Milwaukee Brewers are playing out of their minds. Eventually, they should cool off. But look at the standings as a whole. Cubs should still be in the playoffs. I would rather the Cubs get hot during the playoffs.

  12. Honestly I can’t even be mad. Most of the league is stuck in the mud. I think entering yesterday only 5 NL teams had a winning record in their last 10 games.

The Dodgers lost out on 1st now too. Other teams have hit a wall like is

Also….no team can compete with a 12 game winning streak and going 28 games over .500 in their last 46 games.

At this point, just get into the playoffs and who knows what happens. It’s gonna be a matter of who gets hot at the right time

  13. We’ve bottomed out, nowhere to go but up now!

Baseball is a game of regression. Brewers will hit their wall soon. (right??)
