Dodgers vs. Angels Game Highlights (8/13/25) | MLB Highlights
Well, they used to be in first place to top the NL West but going into play tonight, Dodgers find themselves a half game back in the division behind the San Diego Padres tonight. It’s the Dodgers and Halos for one final time. We have Otani back at the big eight for the first time facing his former team. First time facing mike Trout since the W BC. The Dodgers are in second and that’s where kyle Hendrix would like to keep them kyle Hendrix. He’s throwing the ball. Well, you look over his last three starts. He’s been mixing and matching exceptionally well. Here comes shohei. He goes deep again tonight to be his second five game home run streak in the last four weeks. He is the leadoff batter tonight in a game where he is on the mound at Angel Stadium for the first time as a visitor, another 2 to 2 pitch that is a rifle in the right field toward the corner. Otani is going to have extra bases just depends on how many he wants. Three. Here’s the throw hits le leadoff triples show, hey, Otani, 107 MPH off the bat. That’s his eighth triple of the season when he gets that big body can move. And Mookie Betts comes up with the infield drawn in without an out in the ball game and Betts was not in the original lineup tonight. Munce came out, dave Roberts put Betts in ground ball base hit making an eight game hitting streak for Mookie Betts and make it a one nothing lead for the Dodgers that’s starting to remind the top of the lineup looks like bets remains on first. No one out in the first already one to zero. Dodgers brings up Will Smith Smith hitting 3, 12 drives one deep to left field. That’s down the line that’s gone. It’s a two run homer. There’s a Will, there’s a way and the Dodgers have jumped out to a 3 to 0 lead home run number 15 for Will Smith Will Smith about as good as anybody. I have seen it pulling his hands in close to his body. Dodgers with two on two out for Alex Freeland and that’s a called third strike and that’s how the inning will end. Eight batters, 40 pitches, three runs for the Dodgers as the Angels get ready to bat in the bottom of the first against Shohei starting once again here at Angel Stadium 21 to 8 lifetime here. This is his 48th start in his ballpark and obviously his first against the Angels. He’s expected to go five innings tonight which would be as long as this year strike three started the game with a leadoff triple goes to the mound and begins his outing with a punch out. That’s not fair. That’s a sweeper on a 32 pitch. As a hitter you got to protect 100 miles an hour to has struck out 26 of the 78 batters. He has faced so far this year, nearly a third of the batter’s face is ground ball to second is right, is Rojas backhand throws to first in time to get to have been looking forward to this at bat right here, mike Trout, former teammate of Otani, first time they faced one another in a major league game. There is something so unique about shoe facing his offensive peers reminded of a couple of years ago, the world baseball classic. The only time they met head to head while they were still teammates on the, just like the W BC A 32 sweeper. This time he watches strike, three side retired in order we go to the second in Anaheim. It’s the Dodgers three Angels. Taylor Ward leads off the bottom of the second for the Angels. What a run Ward’s been on against the Dodgers the last couple of seasons. That’s a great pitching staff, five home runs, two balls and one strike on Ward here on a fly ball right center field pretty well. Hernandez is back. He’s still going on the wall. Taylor just one away from his goal at 30. He has his 29th as he takes shoe deep Taylor Ward against Shohei Otani. 100 and three off the bat. Only the second homer given up by Otani this year, the other was hit by Byron Buxton of the twins. Now, Mata serves one to the gap and lets centerfield that goes all the way to the wall past Alex Cole and Mata follows the ward homer with a double. Here’s the pitch on Rengifo pulled in the air to right. Hernandez has a read Moncada tagging. Catch me. Here comes the throw in time. A sacrifice fly for Rengifo and it’s a one run game. Now, Ojai shoots it to right field Hernandez over and he runs it down the final out of the second inning, taking away extra bases from Ojai do Otani claims the mound for the bottom of the 3rd 02. Swing and a miss with the sweeper. He struck him out on three pitch third strikeout of the game for Otani and all three have come on the sweep on base. Trout will get his second chance at shoe here tonight. Swing on it missed strike three , pulled the string on him with a slow sweeper and Otani has struck out his fourth man. He retires the side in order alex Cole, the left fielder leads off against kyle Hendri Tapper to left side, booking it down the line. The throw is off the Mark. So call books out an infield single to starting the fourth with one out and two on Shoe Otani coming up, let’s hitting a dozen straight on the payoff pitch. Otani takes ball four high to load the bases for Mookie Betts. That will be it as Kyle Hendricks will leave the game rough night for him. Mookie Betts studying right now for the new pitcher, Ryan ZR John who was elite for the Angels last year. Bases are loaded. It’s a one run game and an important spot. Early here bats, a base hit the other way. Ball will score. Freeland held up at 3rd 4 to 2 Dodgers and they are reloaded. Here’s Freddie Freeman who has flied out twice to work. Still to do with that one run allowed you still have yourself a ball game here, john gets the K now will smith coming up to try to do some damage with two outs and the bases full. The 31 coming bases loaded five to L A. Tony Betson smith on the bases to Oscar Hernandez in the batter’s box, a seven pitch at bat. Here’s the next one and he threw it by him. Struck him out with a fastball and that’s how the inning will end. So here we go again. Otani and Trout round two, struck him out to finish the first inning. 11 freezes Trout right on the outside corner knee high and he strikes out Trout looking for the second time just reached back and got a little extra on that one that is perfectly placed with a double kind of swings through, gets to the backstop and he’s gonna reach, he snapped that slider off, not even quite in the strike zone at all. That tell you that tells you how sharp that is Joe Adella for one. There’s another wild pitch. So I would be surprised if she goes back out for the fifth inning. He’s really it up. I agree with you. See Tan’s reaction in the background. Head to the sky planned for Tanne tonight to get through five grounded to bets. He eats it up and finishes the inning last inning for Shohei Otani tonight in his ninth start , Dodgers said five innings 1 to 2 pitch swing and a miss. He struck him out on a splitter seventh strikeout for Otani. He’s checked off just about all the boxes tonight on pitches that he throws in front of his feet. A little hits the fifth, another two strike knock for the angels hair of runners on 1st and 2nd. Zack Netto will be the third time through the order. This could be the last batter for shoe tonight and here’s Netto. This place will go nuts. Gets a hold of the setting it last when he threw two wild pitches and rips one to the left field corner. That’s a base hit that bounces to the wall. Oh, he’s on his way home. Tio’s right behind him. Zack Neto’s made it a one run game for the two run double most earned runs against Otani this year 80 pitches and the night is done for Tanne on the mound tying run in scoring position for the Angels. Only one out in the fifth two walks for Banda in a strikeout since entering the ball game. Netto is at third Shawna at second and now Bonda to face Moore who came off the bench to pinch hit last night and clubbed a double into the right center field gap flied to right to Oscar Hernandez is there to make the catch and that’s how the inning will end leaves them loaded one out, one on for Andy Paez Dodgers have not had a hit since Mookie Betts single back in the fourth inning. He found it out to right center pretty sharply. ADOS over the wall. He leaps up here. He comes. What a catch Bryce T and O saves what a grab by Teodosio. What a long run, timed everything. Perfect. Jumped up, pulled this one back. Robs a home run Bryce Teodosio again and a factor for the Angels in this freeway series and he represents the tying run now to start things off, he’s at second baseman here is the left handed hitting first baseman Nolan Shanell to third Smith throw from he is out initially called safe and now we wait to see if the Angels want to challenge headsets. Here we go. The runner came off the base and was tagged. The call on the field is confirmed, the runner is out. That’s going to be a base hit an infield single off the bat of Adele. That ball was hit so sharply it knocked the glove right off of the left hand to the pitcher, Henriquez. So instead of a double play, you got bases loaded, tying runs at third, go ahead runs at second strikes that swinging two away one more to get Logan Ope, the catcher coming up. Ope tonight one for three, he singled and scored in the fifth left center. A base hit scores Mos on his way home gets the eighth pitch. 650 ho on a 22 pitch drill that one, a low liner into left center and the Angels are on top at 65. Dodgers desperately need a run here. They’re trying to do it against Kenley Jansen. He’s got 22 saves on the year comes down to Will smith, the three two to smith left center is closing, he’s there. He’s got to say good night to the Dodgers. This is heaven for the Angels. They have swept the Dodgers all year long six in a row and a three way series sweep again here at the big a the improbable when you think about Shoe Otani on the boat.

Again, you spend all that money and the best you can do is a 0.5 back from the Padres π
Yes sirrr angels are the kings of the freeway series
DOUBLE SWEEP
If the Angels could just play the Dodgers in every game, they would be World Series Champions. π
stupid roberts
Nice sweep Angels. I'm sure Dodgers fans will come up with all sorts of ways to spin it. Pretty pathetic Angel season ticket holders. Allowing LA fans to occupy 75% of Angel stadium. Make sense though, Angel ticket holders treat it as a financial transaction as oppose to supporting the team and LA fans appreciate how easy it is to get tickets and how easy it is to get into and out of Angel Stadium compared to Chavez Ravine.
We OWN them!
All this essentially without Trout
This is the great victory of our time.

Shohei burned by the yellow line in right field that was put there originally to help him as a batter. I donβt like it. Should still have to clear the wall for a home run
πππ the amount of angry Doyer fans claiming they donβt care. HAHA. I love it.
LETS GOOOOOOOO
the power of friendship does wonders for this team
Was at the game on Tuesday and it was amazing seeing my halos win an insane game and now this sweep makes it even better letβs goooo
