Just saw DraftKings has the Hornets’ over/under set at 26.5 wins this season.

Am I crazy for thinking that number feels a little low? Or is this the year they finally surprise us?

  1. It all depends on player health. If mostly healthy? Over for sure. Closer to 40 or more.

  2. If we’re a sub-30 win team again, I’ll never watch another NBA game for the rest of my life (I’ve said this every year for the last few years and still try to watch as many games as i can btw)

  3. Sounds about fair to me. It’s basically a bet on if lamelo is healthy or not. If he’s out for more than half the season, the lack of frontcourt puts a cap on how many games the hornets will be able to win. But if he can stay healthy (fingers crossed) the team has a chance to really surprise people

  4. If we stay healthy I think the number is closer to 32 tbh. “Staying healthy” has proven easier said than done though.

  5. Besides the health of LaMelo, Brandon, Tre, and Grant, the team has the worst big man rotation in the league. Our defense will be atrocious. A lot has to go right for us to be above 30-35 wins.

  6. This feels like one of those things that is both fair will also feeling like something that could be very easily surpassed if you guys stay healthy

Like if ball plays 70 plus games I can’t imagine you guys not winning at least 35 games. But I get why the over-under is where it is based on health concerns

  7. I think a safe number is 30. But if we have the usual run of injuries, we’re cooked.
