MLB 2025: San Diego Padres vs San Francisco Giants Live Commentary
All I All I want you so long so long. Why you keeping me waiting? Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening everyone wherever you’re at in the world. Welcome to Last Maps Baseball’s live commentary of Major League Baseball. Tonight we are going to bring you the second game of the three-game set between the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres’s. Last night’s ball game, it was a pretty tight affair through the first five innings, nothing nothing. And then both teams got score started scoring runs in the sixth. It was a run in the top of the six by the Padres’s. And then it was Raphael Devers responding with the Giants only run last night. And then it was three more runs to follow which was capped off by a Freddy Fine two-run homer to win the game for the Padres’s four to one. What do we have in store tonight? Well, it’s a brand new ball game as they say. We’re going to have the starting lineups. First of all, from the for the visitors from San Diego. Leading off tonight and playing in right field is number 23, Fernando Tatis Jr. hitting second and playing first base is number four, Luis Sas. Hitting third and playing third base is number 13, Manny Machado. And the cleanup spot in playing shorts stop is number two Xander Borgurts. And the fifth spot and in center field is number three Jackson Merrill. Batting sixth in left field tonight is number five Ramon Moriano. Batting seventh and doing the designated hitting is number seven Jose Glacius. Batting eighth and playing second base is number nine Jake Croninworth. And batting ninth and doing the catching is number 54 Freddy Fine. And they are going to be facing Robbie Ray who takes to the hill tonight. For Ray, he is making his 25th start of the year. He’s got nine wins and five losses. He’s worked 142 innings. He’s allowed 105 hits, 48 runs, 45 of which have been earned, walking 55 and striking out 145, pitching to a 2.85 earned run average. Well, that’s your starting lineup for the visitors from San Diego. Now, the starting lineup for the hometown San Francisco Giants. Leading off in left field, wearing number 17 is Helio Ramos. Batting second and playing second base tonight is number 10 Casey Schmidt. Batting third at first base is number 16 Raphael Devers. And to clean up spot and playing shortstop is number two Willie Adamus. Batting fifth and doing the designated hitting is number 41 Wilmer Flores. Hitting sixth and playing third base tonight is number 26 Matt Chapman. Batting seventh in center field is number 51 Jung Hu Lee. Batting eighth, freshly recalled from Triple A, wearing number 49 is Tyler Fitzgerald. At batting ninth, doing the catching is number 19, Patrick Bailey. And they are going to face Nesty Nester Cortez who takes to the hill for the Padres’s only making his fourth start of the year, his second for San Diego. He’s worked 12 and two/3 innings. He’s allowed 10 hits, 10 runs, all of which have been earned, walking 10, striking out 11, and pitching to a fluffed up 7.11 earned run average. Those are your starting lineups. We’ll be back in 60 seconds with all the action. Hang with us everybody. It is the Padres’s and the Giants when we return after this. Welcome back everybody. It is going to be hello coming to bat here for the Padres’s Fernando Tate Jr. Luis Rayz and Manny Machado to get things going here in the first inning as Robbie Ray has completed his tune-up tosses. We are back in the saddle for this one here tonight. Padres’s looking to get another win here in a row. And for the Giants, they’re looking to snap to even the series here at one game a piece. And we are ready to get this action underway as Rey has completed his tuneup tosses. Stepping in to bat will be Fernando Tatis Jr. He’s hitting 264 on the season. 17 homers and 46 runs batted in as Robbie Ray wearing the tight pants as he kind of made famous up in Canada when he was pitching with the Blue Jays as the pitch is on the way. It’s a fast ball that misses up and away for ball one. Ray’s wife sang the national anthem last night at the ball game at the for the Giants as she was belting out the tunes as the 10 is on the way to Tatis Jr. It is a fast ball swung on. It has popped up over on the left side of the infield. It’s playable. Moving over underneath it is Adamus and he’s going to make the catch and that is going to retire Tatis for the first out of the inning. So one up and one away and that’ll bring up the first baseman and Luis Arise. Padres staying with the gray jerseys. I say gray cuz they have the brown pinstripe and the gold trim. It’s kind of a snazzy looking uniform. I kind of like this one for the Padres’s. Giants tonight have changed it up. They’ve got the white pants, but they have the black tops with Giants across the front as they first pitch fast balls taken for a called strike. The count is 0 and one. A rise hitting 292. Six homers and 44 runs driven in. The Giants also have a interesting hat on the brim. It’s almost like two-tone in color. There’s a little splash of purple in it there as well. Fast ball misses inside and the count goes to one and one on rise. Umpires for tonight’s game. Behind the plate tonight, it’s Paul Clemens. Raone De Jesus is at first, Adrien Johnson at second, and Quinn Walcott is in the rocking chair at third base as the fast ball is swung on and missed. And the count now goes to one and two on a rise. Defensively tonight for the Giants from left to right field, Aramos is in left, Lee is in center, the right fielder is Fitzgerald. Around the horn from first to third, Devers is at first, Schmidt at second. The short stop tonight is Adam Adamus Chapman at third with Ray and Bailey as the battery. There’s a fast ball swung on. This is going to be lifted foul down the left field line and it is going to reach the seats and the count remains at one and two to arise. So, one ball and two strikes it is as the lefty Ray ready to go again. getting his sign from the catcher Bailey as he rocks himself into the windup. And the pitch on the way is a fast ball. That’s knife foul down the left field line. And the count remains at one and two. Although Arise looks like he’s going to have to go get himself a new piece of lumber as that one is already done. No, just a little bit of spray. Little bit of spray for the hands. Keep the bat intact. So here comes the one-two offering again. Ray kicks and delivers. Another fast ball swung on and this is lifted foul down the left field line and again the count remains a one and two. Rise again tapping both sides of the plate standing with that open stance against the lefty ray. Here’s the pitch. Breaking ball misses down and away. And now the count runs even to two and two. So, two balls and two strikes to the left-handed hitting a rise again. Ray rocking into the wind up and delivering. There’s a fast ball that misses down and away. Count now runs full to Arise. So, two pitches to retire Tatis and Rise has battled them to a full count. Eight pitches already in this bat as Ray rocks and delivers. And there is a fast ball that is swung on and missed. Ray walks the ladder. Arise goes chasing and that might have been ball four. or he’s gone for the second out of the inning. So, two gone here and it’s going to bring up the third baseman in Manny Machado. And so for Machado, he’s hitting 297, 20 homers and 72 runs batted in as he steps up to the plate here to face the left-handed throwing Ray. As Ray getting his signs from his catcher Patrick Bailey delivers a fast ball that catches the inside corner and the count is 0 and one. Waiting on the offering here from the lefty as Ray kicks and fires. And there’s a fast ball swung on it miss. The count goes now to 0 and two. So no balls and two strikes. Last night in the series opener, Machado was one for three in a walk. Able to find his way on base a couple of times as the pitch from Ray is on its way. And it’s a fast ball that misses way upstairs and the count goes to one and two on Machado. Robbie Ray, I’m going to work a little harder than I think that would expect. Here comes the one-two offering. And that’s a fast ball swung on it is pop foul into the seats behind home plate. And one and two it is to Machado. I have to say Machado in some ways has settled down in a way. He kind of was a bit temperamental in his early years with Baltimore. There’s a fast ball swung on. It just has popped up over on the right side. This could be trouble. Moving back on it. And falling down is Fitzgerald. And it’s going to fall in between Fitzgerald Schmidt and the first baseman Rafi Des. And so Machado’s got to get himself a single. But that would be probably the biggest criticism I would have of Machado. He’s just dogging it down the line. He’s got his bat in his hand and he’s admiring the popup and as the ball falls in, he’s stuck at first base. I always remember I saw Darren Urstad number of years ago. I was in Chicago and he was doing a conf where he was doing a conference and Ursstad was talking about how about coming hard out of the batters box and making sure that you’re always running hard and he was telling a story that when he played at Yankee Stadium he had a pop up to second base and Chuck Knoblock was camping underneath it and 999 times out of a thousand Knoblock’s going to make the catch and he dropped that ball. There’s a fast ball swung and this ball’s belted into deep left field. This ball could be trouble. That’s going to be off the wall. Fielding it is Ramos. And rounding second and heading to third is Machado. And then they try to back door pick him. And he dives back safely into the bag. So it’s going to be a double by Bogarts. Machado has to stop at third. But where I’m going with this is if Machado’s running hard out of the box, he ends up on second base. If he ends up on second base, that hit here by Bogarts would have drove in the first Padre run. And that, my friends, is why I don’t think the Padres’s are going to win. Now, just look at the replay of how Machado was running and how he just sort of jogs around the bases, sort of slows up, and then he wants to turn it on because they ended up throwing behind Machado into second base. That’s another piece of base running that you would see from somebody. If you throw behind the runner, you want to keep on going. That brings Jackson Merrill to the plate. and Merrill hitting 261, eight homers and 50 runs driven in himself a good ball game last night. And there’s a B as Bobby Ray or Robbie Ray caught his cleats on the mound. That’s going to bring Machado in to score. It’s going to advance Bogarts over to third. And just like that, the Padres’s have a early one to nothing lead. And it’s not because that the Padres’s are doing it as much as the Giants are doing it to themselves. Well, Jackson Merrill with no count on him here waits on the offering and the first pitch is a breaking ball swung on and lifted foul down the left field line and the count is quickly 0 and one to Merrill. I had a feeling tonight could be a highscoring affair with Netor Cortez going for the Padres’s and he has not had a a great start to his season so far. There’s a fast ball swung on his grounded softly fouled down the third baseline. He’s going to run the count to 0 and2 on Merrill. He’s making his second Padres start. He was dealt in the off season from the Yankees to the Brewers where he only had two starts and then they Brewers sent him packing to the Padres’s. And if he can figure it out, he’d be a necessary asset for the Padres’s down the stretch here. So, here comes the 02 pitch to Jackson Merrill as the Ray delivers. It’s a fast ball swung on and it’s lifted down the left field line foul. That’s going to keep the count at 02 to Merrill. So, no balls and two strikes it is. Ray gets himself a new baseball to work with and he’s ready to go back at it again. Holds it to the set. Now delivers. There’s a fast ball that misses outside and the count now one and two to Merryill. So, one ball and two strikes. Lefty again working himself to the set. Runner Bogarts at third. Two gone here on the first. One, two on the way. Fast ball misses up and away. It’s now even the count at two and two. well retired the first two hitters. Then a single and a double. Had the Padres’s out in front here one to nothing as the lefty kicks and delivers. There’s a fast ball that misses outside. It’s now count run famro. So two of the check that two of the first five hitters Ray has gone to full counts with again Ray works to the set. Here’s the 3-2 offering. Pitch on the way. Fast ball swung on and missed and Merryill’s down on strikes. That’s going to do it as he’s gone for the third out of the inning. But the Padres’s strike first. One run in the inning on the benefit of two hits. There was no errors and one runner left the board. Your score as we are now through one complete. It’s the Padres’s one. The Giants coming to bat. Stick around everybody. We’ll back in just a couple moments with all the action right after this time out. We’ll be right back in a few. Heat. Heat. It is one- nothing for the Padres’s. We’re moving to the bottom of the first. We’ll be right back after this. Hello, this is Eric Fox, formerly of the Oakland A’s and Texas Rangers baseball teams. You want to learn about Japanese baseball, see Coach Fred, Last Wraps Baseball. You want to baseball instruction, see Coach Fred. You want to learn about golf, do not go to Coach Fred. Fred, what kind of club is this? At last baseball, we know baseball. Welcome back everybody. We are moving ourselves to the bottom half of inning number one and the Giants find themselves in an early one- nothing deficit. Helio Ramos, Casey Schmidt, and Raphael Devers will lead it off here for the Giants to start their bottom half of the first. Nasty Nester Cortez on the hill for the Padres’s. Cortez making his fourth start of the year. His second in a San Diego Padre uniform as the veteran left-hander ready to go. He rocks into the windup band delivers and the first pitch fast ball is taken for a called strike and the count is quickly 0 and one. Ramos batting 271 14 homers to go with 51 runs batted in. Waits on the offering here from Cortez who kicks and delivers. There’s a fast ball that is swung on and fouled away. The count now goes to 0 and2 on Ramos. These must be the new City Connect jerseys, I would think, for the Giants. They are orange and black. And they’ve got a splash of purple. The arm sleeves, the batting gloves, a little bit on the hat. They’ve got purple in it. I’m not sure what everybody thinks about these hats or these uniforms. I don’t know. Some teams, they’re kind of neat. Other teams, I’m not sure they got it right. There’s a fast ball that just misses off the outside corner. The count goes to one and two on Ramos. Cortez ready to go back to work. He whacks himself into the windup. He kicks and he delivers. And there’s a breaking ball that just misses down low. And the count is now at two and two. Defensively tonight for the Padres’s from left to right field. Raone Lauraniano is in left, Jackson Merrill in center, and the right fielder is Tatis Jr. as Cortez Roxand delivers. There’s a fast ball swung on and missed. And Ramos is in the books for the first out of the inning. One giant up and one giant down. And that’s going to bring up Casey Schmidt. Around the horn defensively for the Padres’s from first to third, it is Luis Arise at first. The second baseman’s Jake Cronorth. At short, it is Xander Bogarts with Manny Machado at third. And the battery is of Nester Cortez and Freddy Fine. And there is a fast ball. The miss is down and away to Schmidt. And the count is quickly 1 and0. Schmidt batting 239. Seven homers to go with 24 runs batted in. Waits on the offering and the pitch is a breaking ball swung on and lifted foul over on the first base side, but it’s going to get well into the seats. Good solid 15 rows behind the dugout. The count goes even to one and one. And a man sporting a Buster Posey jersey will take that one home with them. And here comes the pitch. It is a fast ball that misses up and away. And the count goes to two and one on Schmid. Casey Schmidt did not get the start in last night’s ball game as the lefty rocks and delivers. And there’s a fast ball swung on. It has popped up down the left field line giving chases Machado coming over and he’s going to watch it drift into the seats is the left fielder Lauriano looked like he might have had a beat on it but you know the winds in San Francisco they can wreak havoc with the ball and that is going to fly into the seats and that’ll bring a count even to two and two on Schmidt. So Cortez gets himself a new baseball. He rubs up. He’s ready to go back to work. Schmidt digs himself back in the box and we’re ready to resume the action. Two balls and two strikes here to the second baseman of the Giants. It’s a slow breaking ball swung on is lifted into deep center field. Moving back onto the track. He’s going to have to play it off the wall as Merrill. Rounding first and heading to second is Schmid. The throw comes in and it is not going to be in time as Casey Schmidt is going to get himself a double. That was really well played off the wall by Jackson Merrill. He turned, got on his horse, and then he threw on the brakes around the warning track. Took it on one hop off of the fence and made the play way closer than what it should have been. Nice job there by Merrill as he fielded it very clean and then he showed off his arm to second base. The throw not quite in time as Schmidt got under the tag. I don’t think they’re going to review this one. And in fact, I’d be surprised if they did, and they’re not going to do it. So that brings Rafi Devers to the plate. And the first pitch to Devers is a breaking ball taken for a called strike. The count’s 0 and one. Last night’s ball game, Devers accounted for the only Giant run. It was a solo shot in the sixth inning. As he is in scoring position when he steps into the batters box, there’s a fast ball swung on. It is lifted foul down the left field line. Count now goes to 0 and2. So no balls and two strikes it is. Both of these game teams will play an afternoon game tomorrow. It’ll be getaway day as the left-hander again works himself to the set and delivers. There’s a fast ball swung on. It is lifted foul into the seats down the left field line and the count remains at 0 and2. Just taking a look at that out of town scoreboard. Boy, the Milwaukee Brewers are on one heck of a run. They’re doing the trick today. They are beating up on the Paul Skins and the Pirates. There’s a fast ball swung on. It is lined and I don’t know if it went through Machado or if it went off his glove, but that is into left field. Endeavors is aboard. We’re going to have to wait and see that one again. I don’t know if he mistimed his jump or if the ball was just a clean hit. It was just the way that it was reacted by Machado. Ball was hit scorched actually the other way. Machado went to get it and it looked like it grazed off the outside of his glove and it looks like they are going to rule that as a single. I’m not so sure. That’s some home cooking there for the Giants. So DeS is going to be ruled with a single. It’s going to advance Schmidt over to third. And the first pitch is a breaking ball taken for a called strike by Adam. So here in the first inning, Manny Machado, not running hard to first base, then going from second to third. Almost gets himself backpicked, but he was going a little bit slow because they weren’t running him hard from second to third either. Breaking ball misses up and the count goes to one and one. And now the ball off his glove. As I say, I’m a little surprised that the score is going to give him that. So, one ball and one strike it is, but the game is in San Francisco and I’m sure Rafy Devers will appreciate the hit. There’s a breaking ball that misses upstairs and the count now goes to two and one on Adamus. Will Woods says, “Are we on social media?” Yes, we are. We are right now on social media, which is YouTube. So, two balls and one strike as the lefty works himself to the set. And the pitch is on the way. There’s a breaking ball swung on and fouled away. And the count now goes to two and two on Adamus. We don’t do a whole lot. We have Facebook and we also have Twitter, but we don’t use it necessarily. We also have Instagram. We have it all. But in saying that, we don’t really do a whole lot to promote the business that we have here locally as there’s a fast ball swung on and missed. That is going to retire Adamus. He’s going to be gone for the second out. So, two gone here. That’s going to bring Wilmer Flores to the plate. And for Flores, he’s hitting 246 with 12 homers and 60 runs batted in. Flores batting from the right side here. This is his 100th game of the season for the Giants. And the pitch on the way is a fast ball swung on his tap slowly down the third base line. They’re going to have to let it roll and see if it goes foul. And it’s not. It’s going to stop in fair territory. And Wilmer Flores is going to get himself one of the cheapest base hits and even more cheap RBI probably of his entire career, but he’ll take it nonetheless. Casey Schmidt will come in to score, advancing to second is Devers. And that is going to even the score line here at 1-1 and bring up the third baseman Matt Chapman. Basically a swinging bunt off the bat of Flores, but it’ll do the trick. Our friend Loss is in the house here. I don’t know if that’s us that’s a legend or if it’s everybody else who comes on in and listens. Well, that’s going to bring the pitching coach out to the mound to have a word with Nester Cortez as it is. Runners at first and second with two gone and Chapman coming to the plate. Chapman batting 231 on the year with 16 homers and 44 runs batted in. So, Chapman waiting for this conference to finish off so he can come and face Nester Cortez. I have to tell you, I do like watching Nester Cortez. I really do. He is somebody who has what I call for major league standards not a whole lot of talent. Obviously, he’s got to have some talent to get to the big leagues, but he doesn’t have a lot of big league talent, but he really gets the most out of what he can do with his abilities. And it’s fun to watch him pitch. And here’s the first pitch delivered to Matt Chapman. It’s a breaking ball that’s taken for a call strike. The count is 0 and one. Chapman in last night’s ball game. He went one for three as the lefty Cortez delivers. There’s a breaking ball swung on. This ball is lifted into center field. Drifting over to his right is Merryill. He’s underneath it. He’s there to make the catch. And that is going to retire Chapman for the third out of the inning. And that will do it here. Giants get a run back and even the score at one. One run in the inning on the benefit of three hits. No errors and two runners left the board. We are through one complete in San Francisco. Your score is the Padres’s one and the Giants won. Stick around everybody. We’ll be back in just a few with all the action right after this timeout. If you’re going to throw the term legend about, here is one for you. This is our friend Steve Rodmacher. Be sure to check him out as he posts a video every single day on his channel. Let him know lasts baseball sent you. Here’s Steve. This is Steve Rodmacher and I’d like to introduce you to my channel. If you haven’t seen it before, these are all the things I enjoy. Sports, autographs, relics, non-sports hall of famers, pseudo sports, Star Wars. That’s my channel name and my name. And I would really appreciate if you would come check me out and maybe even subscribe if you like it. Thank you for that for now. And back to your ball game. Welcome back everybody. It is going to be Ramon Lauraniano, Josea Glaciius, and Jake Roninworth to come to bat here for the Padres’s in inning number two. Lauriano on the season hitting 286 with 16 homers and 54 runs batted in. He takes a first pitch breaking ball over for a called strike and the count is quickly 0 and one. Robbie Ray 24 pitches in the first inning for the San Francisco lefty as Ray ready to go again. He rocks himself into the motion and delivers. There’s a fast ball swung through and missed and the count now goes to 0 and2 on Lauriano. Well, Lauriano was with the Oakland A’s. He was pretty solid. He has his time with the Guardians. He’s been around a little bit. And certainly Lauriano is probably his unfortunate part for him is he po positive for peeds. Had to spend some time on the suspended list. There’s a fast ball that misses upstairs and the count goes to one and two. But he is pretty productive as one would have it. Certainly defensively when he was with Oakland in patrolling center field he had a arm that was amazing. There’s a breaking ball swung on. It is lifted foul down the first baseline into the seats and the count remains a one and two. But certainly with his bat, he has had some moments and this year for sure he is having himself a very productive year. He’s an important piece or for the post run here for the Padres’s. There’s a fast ball swung on and lifted fouled down the right field line giving chase as the right fielder Fitzgerald, but he’s going to watch it slice into the seats. The count is going to remain at one ball and two strikes. Our friend Will says he’s listening from Boston. We appreciate you for doing that. One of the finer cities. I really enjoyed my time in Boston, but it’s been a number of years since I’ve been there last. There’s a breaking ball that misses down and gets away from Lauren. And the count is two and two. So, two balls in two strikes. Boston, Massachusetts. I can tell you exactly. It’s been over 31 years since I’ve been in the city and that would have been a time when I saw the Mariners play the Red Sox at Old Fenway. There was a fast ball misses inside and the count now runs full and it was the big unit was on the mound for the Mariners that night and he was going headto-head against Aaron Cely. Great matchup. And here comes the pitch. It is a fast ball swung on. has popped up on the first baseline moving over but watching it reach the seats just behind the first base dugout as the catcher Patrick Bailey and it’s going to keep the count at three and two. Our friend Los says he’s from Los is from Hartford, Connecticut. I have to say I’ve never been to Hartford but Connecticut they say is a pretty cool state. There’s a fast ball swung on this ball’s lined into right field. It’s going to get down for a base hit. as Fitzgerald will field it. He’ll throw it back in. So, Ramon Lauriano aboard with a leadoff single here to start the second inning. That is going to bring up the designated hitter in Jose Glaciius. Our friend Gracie Lynn makes an appearance tonight. Welcome Gracie. Hope your flight back to the US of A was a good one and that you were able to get your animal through the border safe and sound. Here comes the first pitch to a Glacius and it’s a breaking ball swung on. It is lifted down the left field line. If it stays fair, it’s going to be trouble. And this ball is going to be gone. A home run. And Eacius on Q with our friend Gracie stopping in. She was calling it last night that why Jose wasn’t in the lineup. He just makes it a different vibe for the Padres’s. and he just takes Robbie Ray Yard with a two-run shot to increase the Padre lead now to three to one as Lauriano scores in front of him. And Eglacius comes around in front. That is Eigius’s first home run of the 2025 campaign. And it was an absolute rain maker. That ball was hit up in the air, but at the same time it was also a wall scraper because I think it hit in the first row and then it bounced its way up into the seats a little deeper. And that brings up Jake Croninorth to the plate and he hits a ground ball up the middle. It is fielded by the shortstop Adamus and he throws it on the first base side of first base. I don’t know if they going they’re going to rule that as a hit anyway. Croninworth able to beat it out. As I say, Adamus fielding it with that purple glove. If I was me, I’d probably give him an error or wait for the scoring decision on that one. I think if he would have fielded it, and it is going to be an error charge to the shortstop because I did feel that if he would have set his feet and made the made a good throw, he would have got the out. My cool hooks back in the house tonight. Appreciate you for being here. The first pitch delivered to Freddy Fine as a breaking ball down and the count’s 1 and0. Gracie Lynn says it’s a predicament for the Padres’s. They’ve got a lot of offensive guys. Yeah, I got to tell you as that breaking ball was swung on and missed. That’s a good predicament to have when you’ve got depth and there this Padre lineup is deep. I just don’t know. I’m not convinced that their pitching is going to be good enough to take them through the playoffs. There’s a fast ball that is swung on and lifted foul down the right field line and the count goes to one and two on for me. So runner at first is Croninworth. There’s nobody out. Padres’s already have two runs on the board. They’ve made the lead three to one as the pitch is on the way. There’s a breaking ball. The miss is down and the count goes to two and two. Michael Hook says, “The one night I take the under. We have runs on a block and crazy at bats.” Yeah, that under, whatever the under was for this ball game here might be shot pretty quickly as the lefty Ray works himself to the set. Although with Cortez on the mount, I don’t know if I would have taken the under tonight in this one. Here’s the pitch. Slow breaking ball. Swung on. It’s grounded over and just foul past the bag at third base. Chapman had came around it and fielded it, but that is going to keep the count at two and two to Ferine. So, just going back up to Will’s original question was do we have social media? We do. We but we don’t necessarily use it. We use it for other stuff, but even there it’s not used a whole lot. And our general business here, I hate to say it, but we don’t always want to try to attract every single kid. There’s a fast ball swung on. Grounded to short. They go to second for one. Back to first. That is going to be a double play. It’s going to be of the 643 variety. And that is going to retire Croninorth for the first out at second. Back end is for me. And it’ll bring the top of the order. Tatis Jr. coming up as Tatis is coming up. He’s 0 for one tonight. He popped to short his first time up. Is saying go for the Giants. No, I don’t think so. There’s a breaking ball that misses down and the count is 1 and0. Our friend Gracie had to bring her cat back up to the States from Costa Rica. There’s a breaking ball. The miss is down and the count now goes to 2 and 0. Yeah, I’m sure the Discord stuff would probably be something that would be cool. I, as I say, I haven’t spent a whole lot of time other than reading the messages that you send me back and forth. There was a breaking ball waved out and missed and the count now goes to two and one. And certainly heading out of town here for a couple weeks isn’t going to help that get any better. So, two balls and one strike as the lefty ray delivers. There’s a fast ball taken at the knees for a called strike. The count now goes to two and two. Michael Hook says scoreless until the end now like the like a normal MPB game. Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to happen as there’s a breaking ball that misses down. That’s now 3 and2 to Tatis Jr. Last time I looked in on the Pirate game, it looked like they had a positional player in pitching against the Brewers. Brewers were already putting the putting the boots to the Pirates tonight. It looks like that game has finally or mercifully come to an end. 14- nothing the Brewers with the win. They beat up on Paul Skins. There’s a breaking ball that misses down and it’s going to be ball four and Tatis is aboard with a two out walk. And that’s going to bring up the first baseman, Luis Arise. And at this rate here, it sure doesn’t look like it’s going to be a long night for Robbie Ray. Here comes the pitching coach as both of the pitching coaches are wearing a path out to the mound here in the second inning. They’ve had visits already. Robbie Ray is taking it all in right now. Our friend Mike in the house tonight. He says a Discord server for the channel would be pretty cool. Great way to post a little update. Yeah, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Yeah, the Mariners, if the Mariners pitching can get going, it looks like they got the offense sorted out. They’re going to be a tough ball club here down the stretch. So, as we’re back to the live action, Robbie Ray works to the set. Here’s the pitch. It is a fast ball that misses down. And the count is one ball and no strikes to Lisa Rise. If you get a chance to see these jerseys that the Giants are sporting tonight, you’ll have to let me know what they think. Uh last year was they had they look like creamsicles. These are a little different. as the Robbie Ray throws over to first base and getting back easily is Tatis. So the lefty again working to the set. Here comes the pitch and they throw over to first base and getting back easily again. So that’s the second throw over by Robbie Ray. I’m curious here if you’re going to make a big jump and go here. That’s what I would do if I was Tatis. As soon as he lifts his foot, take off and go. He can’t throw over again. Here’s the pitch. Fast ball swung on. And this one is going to be lifted foul. I don’t know what a rise was doing. If you can only throw over twice, he’s done it already two times. Get a massive lead and go because I don’t think he can step off either. Here’s the pitch. It’s a fast ball swung on. This is lifted into left field. Coming in on it and making the catch on the run is Ramos. And that is going to do it here for the Padres’s in their half of the second inning. They get a pair of runs on the home run by Jose Glacius on the benefit of two hits. There was an error and there was a runner left the board. We are now moving to the bottom half of inning number two. Your score is the Padres’s two and the Giants one. Check that three to one. We’ll be back in just a couple moments. I’ll answer your questions. Our friend Will, who is a Red Sox fan, I would take it asking questions about the Devils trade. I think the Red Sox got fleeced. We’ll be back in a minute and I’ll comment more on that when I return right after this timeout. Heat. Heat. Hello, this is Eric Fox, formerly of the Oakland A’s and Texas Rangers baseball teams. You want to learn about Japanese baseball, see Coach Fred, Last Wraps Baseball. If you want baseball instruction, see Coach Fred. You want to learn about golf, do not go to coach Fred. Fred, what kind of club is this at last baseball? We know baseball. Welcome back everybody. It is going to be the 789 hitters to come to bat. That means Jung Hu Lee, Tyler Fitzgerald, and Patrick Bailey as they will be facing Nester Cortez here in the second inning of work. Just taking a peek here. Uh the Gracie Lynn asked who did they get back for Netor to uh Rafi Devers. First pitch breaking ball taken for a Colin strike counts 0 and one to Lee. Lee hitting 256. Six homers and 46 runs driven in as there is a fast ball that misses down and away and the count goes even to one and one. Well, just as our friend Will has pointed out, Jordan Hicks, Kyle Harrison, or two of the pieces, and there was somebody else that went over there as well as that ball is softly grounded over to second. Fielding it on the run is Croninworth, and he’s easily going to throw Lee out at first. It’s a ground out four to three as Lee is in the books for the first out of the inning. That’ll bring up the right fielder and Tyler Fitzgerald. Our friend Tim checking in tonight as well. It’s great for you to be here. We will be on late night for Japanese baseball action and that will be Friday and Saturday North American time as we’ll bring you the base stars and the Dragons. So hopefully he can make it in for some of that action. Breaking ball to Fitzgerald misses upstairs for ball. The count is 1 and0 as the lefty de delivers again. There’s a breaking ball that misses outside and the count now goes to 2 and 0. So two balls of no strengths to Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald was recalled earlier today. The pitcher Wizen Hunt was sent back down as the pitcher delivers a fast ball that catches the outside corner and it’s now two balls and one strike. Mark says, “Like your work. Sounds like you’re having fun. You ever do local games?” I’m not sure what local would be for us. as the pitch is a fast ball that misses upstairs and the count now goes to three and one. So, three balls and a strike. That’s right. Tibs was flipped for Dustin May. Dustin May has been a bit of a disappointment in Boston so far. There’s a breaking ball that’s taken for a call strike. The count goes to three and two. I have to say I really like Dustin May’s stuff. Although I haven’t really seen him much since he’s come back from the Tommy John surgery, but he has the ability to be pretty darn good as the lefty Cortez delivers. There’s a fast ball swung on its chop foul over on the third base side. The count remains at three and two. All rails says that the base stars need to get their stuff together. Yeah, the swallows are bit of a problem. They’re not flapping their wings at all. Certainly anchored in the bottom position. There’s a fast ball that’s swung on. This ball is belted down the left field line, but it’s going to hook foul. The count is going to remain at three and two to Fitzgerald. Gracie said Wizenhut really labored the other day as Cortez rocks and delivers. There’s a slow breaking ball swung on. It is popped up into right center field. Coming over underneath it is Merryill and he’s there to make the catch. That is going to retire Fitzgerald for the second out of the innings. So, two Giants in the books. That’s going to leave it up to Patrick Bailey. Well, Patrick Bailey had an entertaining night last night, at least from a visitor or a visual standpoint. He struck out three times, batting all from the left side. Tonight, he’s going to try his hand on the right side. And all three of these strikeouts were called looking. I I know there’s sombrero happen on a daily basis in Major League Baseball these days as there’s a breaking ball that misses down and the count is 1 and0. But how many times do you get three strikeouts and all called looking? I’d like to know that. That’s a stat we’d have to dig into the archives and try to find out. There’s a fast ball that misses upstairs. It’s now two and0 to Bailey. I was saying last night when Ud Darvis U Darvish was pitching up against him, I said I’d just challenge him with straight up good oldfashioned fast balls right down the middle as there’s a fast ball that misses low and it’s now 3 and 0. Now let’s see if he can hit it. Mark says, “Do we do high school stuff, D3 or any of that stuff?” Nope, nothing at all. This is all we do right here. There’s a fast ball that misses upstairs. It’s going to be ball four and Bailey is going to be aboard with a two out walk. It’ll bring up the top of the order in Helio Ramos. And for Ramos, well, he’s 0 for one tonight. He struck out his first time up. We just don’t really have the time to dedicate ourselves to one team. We’ve done what seems to be more Giants games this year than anybody else. Gracie Glenn says, “How would he even watch high school baseball?” Well, certainly in Japan, it’s watched a lot as there’s a breaking ball that misses upstairs and now Forina is called time. He sees something and he’s going to go out and talk to his pitcher Cortez. He has just thrown five balls in a row. Mike says, “Loads of room for improvement.” Well, one of the problems with the base stars as we sort of jump a little bit off topic is their big gun and best hitter in their lineup in my opinion, Shugo Macki, had some surgery. He’s going to be out for a bit. Not sure what the timeline for him to return is. There’s a breaking ball swung on and it’s fouled right into the mask for me. That’s going to run the count even to one and one. Yeah. So, no, nothing locally at all with that regards that law says we need you for Monday Night Football when that comes around. Unfortunately, my Monday nights are pretty tied up. I don’t I don’t even get a chance to watch much football these days. There was a breaking ball swung on and missed. And the count now goes to one and two. Mike says, “High school is massive in Japan. It’s aching to major junior hockey.” Absolutely it is. There’s a breaking ball waved at and missed and Ramos is down on strengths. He’s gone for the second time tonight via the strikeout and he’s so mad he does a Bo Jackson and snaps the bat over his knee. That’s a highlight in itself right there. So Ramos is gone with a lot of frustration. No runs in the inning, no hits, no errors, and one runner left the board. Your score as we are through two complete. It is the Padres’s three and the Giants one. Stay with us everybody. We’ll be back in just a little bit. Appreciate you all for hanging out with us tonight on the Last Rams baseball YouTube channel. Be right back after this. Time out. It is 3-1 Giants as we move to the top of the third. Here is our friend Steve enjoying a beer. Oh, hello. Oh, hey. Yep. Yep. I’m just sitting here listening to Freddy call another game here on YouTube. Oh, yeah. Going really good. He’s calling a great game. Really exciting. Lots of stuff going on. You’re lucky it’s commercial break right now. I got a second. Oh, yeah. Of course. I’m having a cold one. Oh, yeah. I got plenty of videos coming up this week. You should stop in, check them out, leave leave a like, you know, tell other people. But oh, Freddy’s coming back. I got to go catch the game. I will check check in with you later. You have a good night, buddy. Bye. Welcome back everybody. It is going to be the three, four, and five hitters to come to bat for the Padres’s in inning number three. That’s Manny Machado, Xander Bogarts, and Jackson Merrill. My friend Gracie Lynn says the CFL actually has exciting broadcasters. Yeah, they have to have exciting broadcasters, I would say, because it’s to keep the people awake. The first pitch is a breaking ball that misses inside and the count is 1 and0. So, one ball and no strikes. Lefty again delivers. There’s a breaking ball that misses down and the count now goes to two and 0. The CFL is I don’t even know if it’s popular in the areas where they have teams. It seems like in different areas other than Saskatchewan or the rural Alberta teams. Fast ball that swung on and missed and the count is two and one where it’s really the only game in town. Two balls and one strike to Machado. Getting the lefty ready to go again. Rocks and delivers. There’s a fast ball swung on and it is a lifted foul over on the first base side. the count goes to two and two. I will say this, I do think Tony Romo’s broadcasting skills were better than his quarterbacking skills. You can take that for how you wish, but he does prepare himself very well for the games. There’s a fast ball swung on. This has popped up into right field. Fitzgerald underneath it. Now he’s coming in and he’s there to make the catch. And Machado is going to be retired for the first out of the inning. One gone and that’ll bring up the shortstop in Xander Bogarts. Well, it was two cracks at the knee that took it for Ramos to be able to do that. And how hard is it? Well, it’s actually surprisingly could be easier than you think depending on the handles of the bat. Some handles are fairly thin handled so could be a little easier. There’s a fast ball that’s taken for a called strike. can count someone one to Bogarts. Some guys swing their handles are a little bit stronger. Some guys like the bone down a little bit more. So if you have a more handle that’s boned down a bit more, a thinner handle, you could snap it easier. There’s a breaking ball waved that missed. Count now goes to 0 and2 on Bogarts. Gracie Lynn says that the CFL has had media growth ratings. There was a fast ball taken at the knees for a called third strike. Ah, Bogart stood there like the house by the side of the road. He watched it go by. He’s gone for out number two. And that’ll bring up the center fielder and Jackson Merrill. I was thinking tonight about the former Red Sox could have, would have, should have been in the lineup here as our friend Will was in here earlier asking about the trade about. I think the Red Sox could have got way more. There’s a breaking ball that misses down and away. Keep on track. We’re starting to get CFL tracked as opposed to talking about baseball. Sorry, Gracie. As Robbie Ray ready to go here as he kicks and delivers. Fast ball swung on and lifted foul down the left field line and the count goes to one and one. My beef with that is is that I just think that for whatever reason they wanted to get him out and in fairness, they’ve got a lot of young players. I I can’t remember. I think they traded Bla1 Jordan to the Cardinals if I’m not mistaken. And he was another player that there was they were expecting a lot of things from as that fast ball swung on and lifted foul and the count goes to one and two. Mark said he’s he was a diva. Yeah, you might be right, Mark. Now he’s playing first base. But that being said, you brought in Alec Bregman. You’ve changed the composition of the team. You’ve got Roman Anthony Marello Meyer. You had Christian Campbell up for a bit. There’s a breaking ball swung on and missed. Merryill’s down on strengths. He’s gone for the third out of the inning. And that is going to do it. That’s four in a row now retired by Ray after his rocky inning and two/3. No runs, no hits, no errors, nobody left the board. We are now moving to the bottom half of inning number three. I’ll be back in just a couple moments. It is the Giants trailing the Padres’s three to one. We’ll be back in just a few right after this from our good friend Matt. Well, you’ve got to have an ace in the hole. A little secret that nobody knows. Life is a gamble, a game we all play. But you’ve got to save something for a rainy day. You’ve got to learn to play your cards right. If you expect to win in life, don’t put it all on the line for just one roll. You’ve got to have a nole. In honor of Helio Ramos, here he is with a little timeout and musical tune. Welcome back everybody. It is going to be the two, three, and four hitters to come to bat here for the Giants in their half of inning number three. That means Schmidt, Endeavors, and Adamus. Red Sox are cheap, and I think that is absolutely correct. Will the owner who said he was going to spend that maybe had the best contract with that bookie bets deal is looking like a miser these days. San Francisco taking endeavors. That is yeah great deal. Kyle Harrison I don’t know if he’s going to survive in that ballpark as Schmidt fouls away the first two pitches he sees from Cortez. Snowballs and two strikes. I I’m just not convinced that he’s built for Fenway and I think that certainly he’s a lefty. Uh he could be in a big time big time predicament. I’d ra actually if I had my choice I think Dustin May could have a better career than Harrison there as that fast ball misses outside. It’s now one and two to Schmidt. Cortez getting the signing and he goes into the into the motion. There’s a fast ball missing outside. The count now goes to two and two. I really do believe that Dustin May could give you a Nathan Evaldi type comeback portion of his career. Breaking ball swung on and fouled away and the count remains at two and two. I could see Evaldi way that Evaldi pitches there. But just the power arm of Dustin May, the movement that he has, if he could harness it, settle it down, I think he’s going to be really fun to watch in Beantown. There’s a fast ball. Let’s take it for a called third strike. Ah, Schmmedy stood there like the house by the side of the road. He’s gone for out number one. And that is the fourth strike out in the books here for Ramon Lauraniano or for Nester Cortez. Mark asked me the question, who’s my favorite Red Sox player all time? Well, not really a Red Sox fan. There was a fast ball swung on and lifted foul and the counter is 0 and one. Had a lot of respect for Jim Rice and Dwight Evans. Really liked those guys back in the day. Got to see Stripsky at the end of his career. Didn’t really watch him in his best years as time’s been called by Devers. No balls in one strike. I don’t think he felt that he was set. Hook says Wakefield and Pedroya as the pitch is on the way. There’s a breaking ball that misses down and away and the count goes even at one and one. Well, arguably one of the fellas I coached with was the hitting coordinator for the Red Sox during their first World Series victory of the 2000s. So, I got to say or franchuck would be one of the ones. There’s a fast ball that misses upstairs and getting a chance what being on the road with Orv to hear all kinds of crazy stories. Or has turned 80 years old this year as the lefty rocks and delivers. There’s a breaking ball that is swung on and lifted foul into the seats and the count goes to two and two. So from a Red Sox standpoint, probably pitcher without a doubt Roger Clemens. I don’t have to think twice about that. So, when I think of positional players, I was giving the hitters who I liked, but certainly Rocket Roger was my all-time favorite. There’s a fast ball on the outside corner taken for a called third strike and devils is down on strikes. That’s three strikeouts in a row recorded now by Cortez. And that is going to bring up the shortstop and Willadamus. And steroids or no steroids, got to tell you, that’s what I would want. And there’s a would I would want Roger Clemens as my guy. Fast ball taken for a call strike. The count’s one. And I can tell you from Orb’s perspective, he had told me the classiest Red Sock that he had ever come across. Fast ball swung on, lifted into center field. Camping out underneath it is Merryill. He’s going to be there as battling the wind. And now he makes the catch. And that is going to do it. Adamus has gone for the third out of the inning. The Giants go quietly in their half of the third. got no runs, no hits, no errors, nobody left the board. We got a third of the game in the books. It is the Padres’s three. The Giants won. I’ll come back and tell you who Orf said the classiest Red Sox is in his entire time when we return after this timeout. Welcome back everybody. It is going to be Raone Laureniano, Jose Glaciius, and Jake Croninworth to come to bat. Friend Mark said, “Any good talent coming out of the BC area lately?” Uh, I would say and have to do this. Gracie said about working on the audio balance. Come back to Mark’s thoughts first of all with Gracie. Yeah, I want to get an audio mixer. That’s something I don’t have. And the problem is is the YouTube stock music that you pull down. Even though you set it at the same when you’re converting it into a video, there is no I don’t say no balance. I have it all set at the same. And then sometimes it’s louder, sometimes it’s not. And that is one of the things that we want to do for the channel. We wanted to do it this year, but also not going to put a whole lot more money into the channel that I don’t have to. Uh there’s other things that we can spend on and so certainly that is one that is on the way. We want to get an audio mixer and that might be a 2026 thing. We can control that from our end. There’s a first pitch fast ball that is swung on. This ball is going to be lined into left field. It’s cut off by Ramos. Oh, what a great play. Digging hard for second is Laureniano and he is going to make it in there safely. So that’s his second hit of the night. Absolutely scorched. But I got to say, Ramos did a great job getting over to cut it off and he almost was able to bring that one back in to keep the runner Laureno at first, but tip your hat to Lauriano. He was running hard out of the box, unable to make it into second. That brings Jose Aacius to the plate. He homered his first time up as the lefty kicks and delivers. There’s a first pitch fast ball that misses way upstairs. So, back to Mark’s question, any talent coming out of BC? Well, there were a few kids drafted this year. One of the kids that was drafted who I do know was a left-hander, Shane Brennham, taken with the very last pick of the draft by the Dodgers, and he was not signed. There was a fast ball ticket for a called strike, counts one and one. He is signed to go to the University of Michigan. He is a small lefty and I haven’t seen the numbers. I always say I always get I’m always curious about the numbers when you’re holding the radar gun. Then you get to know for sure. So here comes the 1-1 offering as the pitch is on the way. It’s a fast ball swung on. It’s going to be lifted foul over the first base side. The count now is one and two to a Glacius. So one ball on two strikes as Laureno establishes his lead over at second. The lefty kicks and delivers. And there’s a fast ball swung on and fouled away. And the count remains at one and two. So, one ball and two strikes. Yeah, Mr. Irrelevant. That would be it. So, he keeps that Michigan pipeline going. They’ve had a few kids, Canadian kids playing at the University of Michigan. There’s a fast ball swung on and fouled away and the count remains of one and two. I think O’Halerin who’s in that the Blue Jay organization. He was a pitcher at the University of Michigan. I think he was a Canadian kid. Gracie Lynn said, “Don’t forget about the classiest Red Sox player.” Yeah, I got left you guys on the hook and you’re still on the hook. So, or Franchuk said the classiest player that was with the Red Sox when he was there, of course, as a player, current player, because he also said things positively about some of the retired guys. But the classiest player was Trot Nixon. He said Trot Nixon handled himself with a lot of class as the pitches on the way to a glacius. It misses upstairs. It runs the countdown to two and two. He said when Trot Nixon was on a rehab assignment and he was working with them, he said just some of the things that he did and how he handled himself around the younger players. He was a first rate individual. So here comes the offering from the lefty as it is a fast ball swung on and lifted foul as the glacius continues the battle here. Two balls and two strikes at seven pitches now already in this at bat to a glaciius and he has had a steady diet of fast balls. And here’s the pitch. Another fast ball swung on. This ball is looped softly over to second, fielding it to Schmid. It was a nice play by Schmidt. Schmidt kind of moved toward the ball as if like he was going to catch it. Lauraniano had to freeze. He ends up getting back to the bag at second base. Schmidt feels it on one hop and throws to first. That was a really heads up play by the second baseman. And so that is going to retire the Glacius on the ground out four to three. He’s out for the first out of the inning, but quality at bat for him as he took eight pitches out of Robbie Ray’s arm as Ray does the old spaghetti move and that chases Lauriano back to second base. Jake Cronorth up at the plate here. 0 for one tonight. He reached on an error his first time. Gracie Lynn breaking out the jokes here as the lefty delivers. There’s a fast ball that’s check swing fouled over on the third base side. The count is one and one or 0 and one. I was doing that a lot a little bit last night. I was getting ahead of myself a little bit. I don’t know. because of the early mornings and the long days. But as the offering on the way, it’s a breaking ball that misses down and Lauriano has stolen third base. You can see he was itching to run and he was able to take that from Robbie Ray. He’s got himself a stolen base. That’s his fifth of the year as he’s now at third base with one gone. Pitch was down in the dirt. So it was a ball to Croninworth and it’s one ball and one strike to the second baseman of the Padres’s as the lefty was delivers a fast ball that’s fouled away and the count now is at one and two. Yeah, Schmidt is the second baseman. It’s Chapman who is at third. I don’t know if Schmidt plays much third base as there’s a fast ball that just misses down and the count goes even to two and two. We’d have to go to our crack team behind the scenes to see if Casey Schmidt has had much time as a third baseman in the big leagues. He does play third and he has played shortstop as there’s a fast ball swung on and this is fouled away. The count remains even at two and two. So Schmid has played actually this season the most amount of games at second base and then first base and he has played some third base giving Matt Chapman some time off. There is a fast ball that misses outside and Bailey tries to throw down to third to pick Lauriano off, but he dives back safely. That is now three balls and two strikes to Croninworth. So I guess that’s their answer there. Most of his time is at second base and then third. I’m a little surprised more first base than third base. And here’s the pitch. It is a fast ball swung on and fouled away. And the count remains at 3 and two. Loss to mute my hooks with all his crazy stuff in the chats. I don’t necessarily mind that there’s a fast ball swung on. It is grounded off the glove of the second baseman. Schmidt, pardon myself, into right field. And now they got the runner hung up between first and second is Croninworth is in there and he’s going to get tagged out. So the ball went off the glove of the second baseman Casey Schmidt. It is he dove to make the play. Couldn’t come up with it. Lauraniano comes in to score the fourth run here for the Padres’s. It’s going to be an RBI single for Croninworth and then he is going to get gunned down and it’s going to go 4-8 to three to four on the put out. 48-3 sorry 48-3 to6 and so he is going to be gone for the second out of the inning. And that’ll leave it up to the catcher and Freddy Fine. And Fine takes a first pitch down for a ball and the count’s 1 and0. our friend My Cool Hooks over there. Well, I have to tell you in fairness, my Cool Hooks compared to some of the stuff the other night as there’s a breaking ball swung on it breaks the bat and leaping up the catch is Matt Chapman and Chapman comes down with it for the third out of the inning. I’ll tell you the other night stuff that drives me insane when we’re doing the Japanese games as Freddy Fine has gone for out number three. Well, the Padres’s add to their lead. They get a run in the inning on the benefit of two hits, no errors, and nobody left the board. Your score as we move to the bottom of the fourth. It is a 4 to1 ball game. We’ll be right back after this. Appreciate you guys for hanging in here with us on the Last Raps Baseball YouTube channel. We’ll be right back in just a few after this timeout. Heat. Heat. The score is 4 to1 for the Padres’s as they are taking their act to the bottom of the fourth inning defensively against the Giants. We’ll be back in just a couple moments after this from our friend Steve. Hello guys. Thank you for joining Freddy here on his baseball game. and I’m Steve Rodmacher and my channel is really all about everybody including all my international friends. We have such stuff as non-sport packs from Canada, the OP Cheese. We have the Greek Freak. We have money from around the world. We have LRA. We have yen. We have Franks. We have pounds. We have Deutsch marks. We have all kinds of cool stuff like that. We even have some cooler things like Japanese women wrestlers and OPG baseball cards or I cannot read the back. We even have unopened material like the royal family. I know it’s backwards from London, England. Thank you for watching. Back to Freddy. Back in the saddle here as Wilmer Flores takes a first pitch ball outside and then it is a fast ball ticket for a called strike and the count goes even at one and one. Our friend Brixton back in the house pumping a fist for the Padres’s. Welcome back. Glad you could be here as there is a breaking ball swung on and missed and the count goes to one and two on Flores. So Gracie Lynn said said it best. When we do the Japanese games, we get people coming in always asking where can you watch and asking questions, repeated questions about the betting line. There’s a breaking ball swung on. It is lifted into left field. Moving over to his right and making the catch is Laureniano that is going to retire Flores for the first out of the inning. And that’ll bring up the third baseman and Matt Chapman. And so, yeah, that becomes where it’s frustrating. And you mention it and you say, “Well, just rewind the game a little bit and you can listen in. And then you get somebody else that comes in and somebody else. I go, “Yeah, great. You’re new to the channel. If you took the time to actually listen to the channel, then maybe you would get that information earlier. There’s a fuss ball that’s taken for a call strike count as 01.” It’s not like they come in and say, “Hey, thank you for your service and we want you to tip you for it or whatever else. It’s just all of a sudden somebody coming in demanding where you watch it.” Well, it’s pretty easy. Let your fingers do the Google walking and that can help you a lot on your own. Here comes the pitch. There’s a breaking ball that misses down and the count goes to one and one. But that’s the Japanese league and that’s the other part. So those in with regards to the emojis and all the rest of that stuff that’s not a big deal for me. It’s just the I call the nonsense of the those type of people that come into the NPB game. There’s a fast ball swung on. is belted and is going to be lifted foul into these seats. The count goes to one and two. I wonder what Matt Chapman’s spray chart looks like if you include foul balls. I bet you his spray chart would be from left center field to the parking lot probably over on the third base side just way out in front hook barreling a lot of stuff and there’s a breaking ball in the dirt and he swings and misses at that. He’s gone for the second out of the inning. And now that is going to be at least by our count six in a row retired by Cortez. Will says anywhere that we can send tips. Well, you could if you so desire, you could always send a super chat through YouTube. If you want to do it via PayPal, you could do that, too. That’s on there. But honestly, you know, if people choose to do it, that’s awesome. If not, then it’s not a big deal. We just enjoy doing it and having you hang out with us. There’s a breaking ball taken for a called strike and the count is 0 and one. Nah, we don’t do Venmo. Just uh just YouTube, PayPal, that’s about it. PayPal’s on our channel. Breaking ball swung on and fouled away. We have a regular listener from the UK who usually listens to us on delay. We haven’t done as many middle of the night games as we’ve done in years past on the NPB. Although maybe when I come back in September. Oh, there we go. There’s a double clutch from Nester Cortez as he delivers a first pitch fast ball to Jung Hu Lee. It’s grounded over to Machado at third and he is not going to get the speedy Lee as he’s going to beat it out for an infield single. We haven’t seen that tonight. Nester Cortez worked three and two/3 innings without doing any hesitations or double clutches. That sure didn’t fool Jung Hu Lee as he was able to leg it out for a two out single. Yeah, Mike says that’s kind of that’s kind of cool. Well, what we also do is we have uh I had a we have I haven’t activated my membership pages again. We had the memberships going. there’s a breaking ball that misses down and then if you pay your 99 cents I had a list of about I don’t know 20 options that you could go and you could pull out the stuff depending if you’re in the states sometimes in Europe sometimes wherever breaking ball misses down and the count’s one and one to Tyler Fitzgerald and you know in doing that then that at least gives some people the opportunity to you know be able to go and to see some things here’s is the one-1 pitch as the lefty again works himself to the set and delivers. There’s a breaking ball swung on it is lifted into deep left field. Camping out underneath it is Lauriano. He’s fighting the wind and now he’s going to make the catch. And that is going to retire Fitzgerald for the third out of the inning. And that will do it here for the Giants in their half of inning number four. No runs, one hit, no errors. And there was one runner left the board. Your score as we’re now through four complete innings. It is the Padres’s with a 4 to1 lead. This game has settled a little bit and that means we’re probably just around the corner for some more action. So hang tight everybody. We’ll be right back after this. We’ll answer all your questions when we return as well. Here’s our friend Matt. Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Namaste. Hey, I hope you guys have been enjoying the game. My name is Hollis. I’ve got a YouTube channel called Another Hollis Build. Um I love baseball cards. I open up brand new product for you guys. I open up old stuff. I do breaks. I do auctions. All kinds of stuff concerning baseball. I’m Frier’s faithful Padres’s to the end. I also love Garbage Pale Kids and my animals. I have a ton of animals. It’s like a mini petting zoo here around my house. I also love my city, San Diego, baby. I take you all around the city and show you what’s up. Um, if you guys dig stuff like that, cruise on over and check it out. It’s another Hollis build. If you dig it, subscribe. I I’d really appreciate to have more follow me along on the journey. Hey, either way you guys have a wonderful day or a beautiful, beautiful evening. No matter which one it is, make sure that you make it great, my friends. Big up Last Wraps Baseball. Yeah, Freddy. Let’s go. One love and peace. Yeah, man. Welcome back everybody. Our friend Will Woods says, “What’s my favorite ballpark?” Well, I can tell you I’ve been in I’ve seen baseball officially now in trying to think three countries in Europe, Canada, the US, Japan, and soon to be Taiwan. And our friend Gracie Lynn’s going to tap out. She’s got to get going. Great to have you here with us. And so I can’t comment on Taiwan yet. And I haven’t been to all the ballparks in the MLB as there’s a first pitch fast ball swung on. It has popped up off the bat of Fernando Tatis over on the right side. Over underneath it is Schmidt. He’s going to make the catch and Tatis is going to be retired for the first out of the inning. Gracie Lynn, welcome back. We’re glad that you are back in the saddle. And you know when Gracie Lynn leaves, that’s when all heck breaks loose. So Gracie Lynn, thanks for popping in tonight. and I’m sure we’ll be talking to you in the next couple of days. One gone here and it’ll be Luis Arise who comes to bat. He is 0 for two tonight. He has struck out and flown to left and he takes a first pitch fast ball at the knees for a called strike and the count is 0 and one. So no balls and one strike. The lefty Ray kicks and delivers again. There’s a breaking ball missing outside. So probably my favorite ballpark. Well, I really like to go to Tiger Stadium, old Tiger Stadium in Detroit. That was about 20 minutes from where I used to live, and we used to get there all the time as the pitch is on the way. It’s a fast ball swung on and fouled away. And the count goes to one and two on a rise. And that was for many years. Probably saw if I didn’t see hundreds of games there, probably 200 or 300. was a partial season ticket holder one year, but it used to see probably 10 to 15 games a year easily over the span of a good solid 20-year window as the pitch from Ray is on the way. There’s a fast ball swung on. It’s grounded to short, fielded neatly by Adam. He throws to first and rise is in the books on a ground out. Six to three for the second out of the inning. I did like Fenway and Wriggley. Certainly the nostalgia of both of those ballparks were there. But I would say of all the current parks that I’ve been to and I’ve been to I like Seattle. I certainly like the Petco down in San Diego, but probably the one that I’ve been to that I do like is in Pittsburgh. I just wish they could put a better team on the field. Here’s the pitch from Robbie Ray and it’s a breaking ball that misses down and the count’s 1 and0. Certainly the field in Pittsburgh at PNC is a lot better than the product that they rolled out. As the 1 is on the way, there’s a breaking ball swung on invest. The count goes even to one and one on Machado. So that would be my first choice. In Japan, I really like the park in Hiroshima, the Mazda Zoom Zoom Stadium, the more modern one, outdoor park, as that breaking ball misses down. Count goes to two in one. That was pretty cool place to see a game. And certainly the Japanese parks, the Hoto Field in Coobe where the Orcs Buffaloos used to play and where the Orcs or the Orcs Blue Wave used to play. The Orange Buffalo play there some games. Fast ball swung on and fouled away and the count now is two and two to Machado. I like that ballpark as well. Not because of maybe the stadium, but because of the dimensions of the field. And there is a fast ball swung on and lifted foul. It’s going to be on the first base side of home plate. The count remains at two and two. Yokohama was pretty good and I certainly like the flavor of the Swallow Stadium as well. They’re talking about getting rid of it. That would be an utter shame as Babe Ruth and Lou Garri had played games in that stadium and there was a fast ball that swung on. This ball is lifted into deep right field. This ball is going to drive Fitzgerald back to the warning track and almost to the wall and he makes the catch. And that is going to do it here for the Padres’s in their half of the fifth inning. Well, we are halfway through this one as the Padres’s go in order. No runs, no hits, no errors, and nobody left the board. We’re now moving to the bottom half of the fifth. Your score is the Padres’s for the Giants one. Stay with us everybody. We’ll be back in just a couple moments after this little timeout. Hey. Welcome back everybody. We’re going to be back in just a couple moments after this musical timeout. It is a 4-1 lead for the Padres’s. We’ll be right back. I’ve got it mixed up over here. I say the Giants are in the lead. That ain’t correct. It is the other way around. We’ll fix that and be back in just a few. Heat. Heat. Welcome back everybody. It is going to be the nine one and two batters to come to bat for the Giants. That means Patrick Bailey, Helio Ramos, and Casey Schmidt. Our friend Mike says the Jingu Park where the Swallows play is definitely super out of date as the first pitch breaking ball is swung on. It is take on one lined on one hop to the second baseman Croninorth and ends up going off his glove. He can’t make the play. We’re going to wait to see what the official score decides on this one. Patrick Bailey get himself a hit here. Well, we’ll have to wait here because if that is the case, then it’ll be another error here for the for the first error here for the Padres’s. No announcement on that yet. So, that brings Ramos to the plate. Ramos 0 for two tonight. Has struck out both times at the plate and he takes a fast ball upstairs for ball one. Counts one and0. They did rule that as a base hit for Bailey. So, he gets off the Schneider. He’s been on base twice tonight now as there is a breaking ball swung on and it is lifted down the right field line, but it’s going to drift its way into the seats and the count now goes even to one and one on Ramos. Just back to Mike there a couple moments ago as he was saying that they were talking about that the Aerysugawa Park in Tokyo was going to be expanded or renovated to be their new home. Well, the problem that I’ve heard was they were talking about knocking down the Jingu stadium and to make it and develop it into condominiums and that type of stuff as there is a breaking ball swung on it has popped up over on the right side of the infield. This is going to be trouble as Croninworth is going to be the one who’s going to make the catch. Arias was getting turned around backpedaling and all kinds of crazy stuff. So, the wind is showing up in a ugly way here in San Francisco. That is going to be a out recorded by the second baseman Croninworth for the first out of the inning. That’ll bring up the second baseman in Casey Schmidt. And so much like in I really I I do agree it’s out of date when you look at like stadiums like where the Red Sox play and the Cubs as the pitch is on the way. There’s a fastball ticket for a cold strike. They lose out on luxury box. They lose out on major corporate pieces. They’re also their stadiums are, you know, not like 45 or 50,000 where you could pack more people in. As the pitch is on the way, there’s a breaking ball swung on as lined over the head of the third baseman Machado in the left field. Rounding second and stopping there is going to be Bailey as firing it back in is Laureniano and Casey Schmidt has his second hit of the night. So that’s going to put runners at first and second and that is going to bring Raphael Devers to the plate. Joe Mansman in the house. Hopefully Joe, you got the game blasting over the airwaves at work. Mike says the same thing about the condo development plan. So De steps in as the lefty works himself to the set. Here comes the pitch. That’s a fast ball taken at the knees for a called strike. The counts 0 and one to des. Been to the jingu a few times. Only seen games there twice. Was able to catch up a little bit over there. It’s a fascinating stadium as the pitch is on the way. There’s a breaking ball that misses outside. Count goes to one and one. The It is so poorly serviced. I I remember, you know, lineups at the bathrooms. When you think about it, when the stadiums were built years ago, you’d have these long lines at the bathrooms, people having to go as there was a fast ball swung on and fouled away. And the count now is one and two at Everevers. And that would be the case at the Jingu that they have their bathrooms are inadequate. People have to go down in between innings. The next thing you know, you’re standing there for two innings. That was like old Tiger Stadium, but reminiscent to that of Fenway and in Chicago, too. There’s a ground ball hit to the shortstop. Oh my goodness. Ground ball hit to the shortstop Bogarts, who was playing up the middle. He had to move to the right side. He flipped it backwards to the second baseman, Croninworth, at the bag. And Croninworth, the ball was on the ground. And now they’re going to ask for some help because they feel that they got the out. It was a poor toss by the by the uh shortstop Bogarts, but it was coralled by Croninworth and it looks like they are going to get the force. However, they’re going to have to review this first and I think he did have control by the time Schmidt slid into second base, but we’re going to have to wait and see here. Originally didn’t have it so much, but yeah, I think he had it. And I think Schmidt’s going to be out. Mike was talking about the possibility of the plan in Arisawa would have been 15 minutes from Raongi in the heart of Tokyo. That would have been kind of cool. But unfortunately, much like the Central League, that would have been a problem. And it is going to be a fieldielder’s choice. So Schmidt is gone. It’s going to go six to four for the out at second to replace to retire him. It’s going to advance Bailey over to third. Safe at first on the fielders choice is Divers. And now it’s going to bring Willadamus to the plate. And it’s going to bring Mike Schil out of the Padre dugout as he is calling for the right-hander. And it is going to be the end of the night for Netor Cortez. Well, Cortez is still responsible for the runners who are on the corners. Schult is taking him out. We’ll be back here in just a couple moments with all the action. It is a 4 to1 ball game for now. We are in the bottom half of inning number five and I got to get ourselves up to date on all the ticker news where we can. We’ll be right back in just a moment. Hey, where are you going? It’s a it’s a pitching change. Come on, sit back down. You don’t go out there. Don’t go get no food or anything. You’ve got a big decision. Are you going to throw in there Raleigh fingers? Maybe Goose Causage? How about maybe Mariano Rivera or Lee Smith? Dennis Sakersley. Who knows? It’s a pitching change. Come on back. You know who I would pick for this? A nice tall one. There’s my pitcher. That’s my pitch and change. That’s a winning combination. Come see my channel. You know, every day is opening day. And according to Bob, I must be in the front row. Welcome back everybody. That is our friend Steve Rodmacher who is keeping us all entertained. They are going to the right-hander. It is going to be David Morgan, the 25-year-old right-hander who is coming on into the ball game. He is making his 28th appearance as the rookie. He’s worked 31 and two/3 innings. He’s allowed 22 hits, six runs, all of which have been earned. Walking 11 and striking out 32, pitching to a 1.71 ERA. So, Nester Cortez on the hook for the runners who are on the corners. Outside of that, he does what Netor does and he pitched fairly decent. So let’s see how David Morgan fares here coming on in relief and he is slated to face Willie Adamus. And so for Adamus he’s 0 for two tonight. He has struck out and he is flown to center as the right-hander ready to go to work and kicks and fires. There’s a fast ball ticket for a call strike. Count is quickly 0 and one. That ball had a lot of movement on it. It was funny. I was playing catch today and I was just trying some different grips and throwing with some different things. I’ve seen in the Japanese league where they throw it’s almost a not a split finger but they straddle the one side of the one seam of the ball as there is a fast ball swung on and fouled away. Count goes to 0 and two on Adamus. And so I was playing with it and for whatever reason my ball seems to cut a lot and then when I move my thumb up the side I can throw it where I can and turn my hand over and the ball seems to sink a little bit. So that’s kind of fun to be able to still do some of that stuff. Still be able to throw and play with some different things. I just don’t throw very hard anymore. There’s a breaking ball that misses down. I’m not sure I ever threw hard like these guys did to begin with. So, one ball and two strikes. Robbie Ray looks like he will be coming back out for another inning as the right-hander Morgan delivers. There’s a breaking ball. Take it for a called third strike. Adamus can’t believe it. But I got to tell you, two nights and watching Willie Adamus, I think he needs to be sat down for a little bit to clear his head because that pitch looked pretty darn good to me. There was no runs in the inning. There were two hits. There was no errors. And there were two Giants left the board. We are now through five. Your score is the Padres’s with a four to one lead. We’ll be back in just a couple of moments as Morgan was able to get out of it. That is pretty good for him. And we’ll be back in just a few after this. Heat. Hey, heat. Hey, heat. Oh, hail to Kenny Weaver, everyone, as he is joining us tonight. We haven’t seen you around in a bit, Kenny. Glad you could make it in. And just like that, we lost five people from the stream. I don’t know what you did, Kenny, but we’re glad to have you. And welcome to the stream tonight. The first pitch that is coming up, it’s going to be Bogarts, Merrill, and Lauriano, the heart of the batting order here to face Robbie Ray in the sixth inning. A little surprised that Ray still has made it this far. I thought at first he wasn’t going to get there. 93 pitches for the left-hander as he will start the top of the sixth inning as the lefty Ray ready to face Xander Bogarts for the third time. Bogarts is one for two tonight. He has a double and struck out looking and he pitches a ball that’s bunted and it’s foul. It’s going to get way up into the seats. Had to be about 15 rows behind home plate. So Barart starts in the hole at 0 and1. Kenny Weaver, if I’m not mistaken, is another East Coaster. We have a few guys in the Massachusetts, Connecticut area who are listening in tonight as the pitch is on the way. And another sign of a bunt from Bogards, but that ball is down and the count now goes even to one and one. They have Gage and BH throwing in the bullpen for the Giants. So Robbie Ray here gets into trouble. He’ll have some support. There is a fast ball swung on and fouled away. Count now goes to one and two on Bogarts. This game has been fairly quick moving tonight. That is a plus, that’s for certain. But the Padres’s have done most of the damage here so far, leading four to one in the top of the sixth inning. as the lefty Ray getting his signs from Patrick Bailey. He rocks himself into the wind up. There’s a fast ball swung on. It’s grounded over to second. Fielded on the backhand by Schmidt. He fires to first and Bogarts is retired on a ground out four to three for the first out of the inning. That’s going to bring up the center fielder and Jackson Merrill. And for Merrill, well, he’s 0 for two in this one. He has struck out both of his times against Robbie Ray. He had a pretty good last night or a pretty good game last night, did Merryill, as he had reached base three of the four times he came to bat as he takes a fast ball up and in for a ball and the count is 1 and0. So, one ball and no strikes. That’s right. Kenny says a Kentucky man there as the lefty delivers. There’s a fast ball swung on Ball’s lifted into left center field. This ball is going to get down and it’s going to get all the way to the wall. Merryill rounding first, digging for two. Jung Hu Lee picks it up, fires it back in, and Merryill has got himself a one out double here. And that is going to bring up the left fielder in Raone Laureno. And all eyes on Bob Melvin. Bob Melvin for whatever reason always seems to be a batter late to come and get his starters. So Robbie Ray is going to face Lauraniano here. Lauraniano two for two. One of my favorite Kentucky people. Sam Hullbrook, the former umpire, was a Kentucky resident. He was a pretty much a character. Here’s the pitch. Fast ball misses upstairs. The count is 1 and0 to Lauriano. I bet you he has some stories to tell. So, one ball and no strikes. Robbie Ray ready to go back to work after getting a baseball that he likes as the lefty works himself to the set position. Here comes the 10 offering to Lauriano. And the pitch on the way is a fast ball swung on and fouled strength back. And the count now goes to one and one. Well, you got to keep your eye on Merryill at second base. He’s jockeying like he wants to run. He’s only got one stolen base, surprisingly this year, but he can move a little bit. Former shorts stop turned center fielder as the lefty Ray kicks and delivers. There’s a breaking ball down. Nice stop there by Patrick Bailey. Count goes to two and one. The 22-year-old Jackson Merrill last season had 16 stolen bases in 19 attempts. This year, he’s only had three attempts and he’s only got one bag. So, he doesn’t run. He hasn’t been running this year. Wonder what the rationale for that is. Or maybe the opportunities haven’t been there for him. So Loriano who went to get some more stickum for the bat steps back in. I say stick them probably some pine tar. They really don’t use pine tar so much anymore. They use the stick or sometimes the spray as the 1-1 is on the way. There’s a fast ball swung on and missed. Sorry, it’s now two and two. It was two-1 pitch. Again, the lefty works himself into the set position as he kicks and delivers. There’s a fast ball that misses down and in. And now the count runs full to Lauriano. The right-handed hitting DH. Josea Glacius is waiting his turn on deck. So, here comes the 3-2 pitch on the way. Breaking ball swung on and it’s going to be lifted foul down the right field line and the count remains full. Ray is now at 105 pitches. Have to wonder at what point in time he is going to be running out of steam and if he’s going to be able to face the glaciius. Here’s the pitch. Fast ball swung on. This ball is lifted into straightaway center field. Moving back underneath it is Lee. Tagging at second and advancing over to third is Merryill as the throw comes in. So Lauriano is going to be retired for the second out of the inning. Merryill advances to third on that fly ball and it’s going to bring Hog Eacius to the plate and it looks like it is going to bring Bob Melvin out of the dugout. Are we going to have a pitching change or is it going to be the pitching coach? What do we have here? Nope. Just brings Patrick Bailey to the mound as they’ve got their gloves covered here. It was a Glacius who homerred in the second inning off a Ray. Glaciius also grounded out. I’m curious here because Jose Glacius, I believe, if I did my homework, they may have crossed paths as teammates with the Tigers. Robbie Ray was a Detroit Tiger after coming to Detroit in a trade with the Diamondbacks. It was a three-way trade. I think Yankees, Diamondbacks, and Tigers all made a deal. And Ray had got there and he may have had some time in Detroit with the Glaciius as the lefty ready to go at it here. And the first pitch on the way is a fast ball center cut for a called strike. And the count is 0 and one. So no balls and one strike. Glacius waggling the bat. Two gone here in the top of the sixth inning as the lefty Ray kicks and delivers. There’s a fast ball that misses upstairs and the count goes even at one and one. So, one ball and one strike again. Leaning in to get the sign is Ray and he’s working as quick as he can be. Pitch on the way. Another fast ball misses up and away. count now goes to two and one. That always always used to irritate me when you’d hear something like and that’s his first home run of the season. And that of course was what the Glaciius did back in the second inning, hitting his first home run of the season. That always drives you nuts. Can the lefty Ray holding set now delivers. There’s a breaking ball taken for a called strike. So now two balls and two strikes to a glaciius. And here we go. Here comes the 2- two. Bailey working off a one knee and Ray kicks and delivers. There’s a fast ball at 95 that misses upstairs. It’s now three and two. So let’s see if it’s going to be good oldfashioned hard ball from Robbie Ray. Lucius ready to go again. So, three balls and two strikes. I have to think this is the last pitch that Ray is going to deliver here tonight. Pitch number 112 on the way. Fast ball swung on. Well, maybe not as that is fouled away and it count keeps the count at three and two. So, now 112 pitches for Robbie Ray. We mentioned this in one of our earlier streams. We said how many pitchers have gone over 110 pitches this year? And I remember locating it earlier that it was Eric Fetty and Framber Valdez. Valdez at 117. And then of course Gavin Williams when he took that no hitter into the ninth inning against the Mets the other day when Juan Sodto took broke it up with a home run. That was another game that the pitcher went over that I believe he has the most pitches in a ball game. As the pitch on the way is a fast ball swung on. This ball is lifted into deep center field. Moving back and backpedaling to make the catch is Jung Hu Lee. And that is going to do it as Eglacius is going to be gone for the third out of the inning. And Robbie Ray, well, good on him. Throws over 110 pitches here tonight through six innings. And you got to believe his night is done. No runs in the inning, one hits, no errors, and one runner left the board. Your score as we move to the bottom half of inning number six. It is a 4-1 San Diego lead. Stay with us everybody. We’ll be back in just a couple moments. Our friend Joe Mansman is in the house here and we don’t mean to tease him about his Mets. We do like the Mets, but we also enjoy a good ball game and that’s what we have here tonight. Let’s see if the Giants have anything in them to come on back. We’ll be back in just a few right after this. Thank you for that introduction, Freddy. Hey guys, Steve. come back at you today and every day is opening day on my channel. I open everything from hot sauce to beer to devild eggs to cans of soup to ravioli to sport card packs like you wouldn’t believe. I open blasters of stuff. I open regular boxes of stuff. Speaking of hot sauce, I open hot sauce, which is often gifted to me from the community. I have it all. I open up Star Wars by the tons, including the Family Guy Star Wars. I have a bunch of wrestling that I do open and I do non sport cards like crazy. As you can see, we have it all. I even open Marvel. Tons and tons of Marvel cards. But you never know on my channel, you just may have a little trouble with tribles, too. Remember, opening day every day. Thank you, Freddy. See you in the funny pitches, guys. Welcome back everybody. David Morgan still in the game. Delivered a first pitch fast ball to Flores who fouled it away. Count is 0 and one here. Flores one for two tonight as he delivers a fast ball upstairs that just misses and the count goes to one and one. Flores has driven home the only run that the Giants have scored tonight with a single RBI single in the first inning. He is officially one for two in the books as the right-hander Morgan holds set. Now he kicks and delivers. There’s a fast ball swung on. This ball is lined into left field. It’s into the corner. It’s down for a base hit. Cutting it off is Lauraniano. He fires it back in. Oh, what a play and what a That is Raone Lauraniano at its finest in the outfield. He cuts the ball off before it gets to the wall and he fires a onehop shot back into second base and it’s going to hold Flores to a long single. That is what speed and a plus arm in the outfield can do for you. That is going to bring up the third baseman in Matt Chapman. Our friend Kenny Weaver says Steve Rodmacher is the man. Steve Rodmacher just does not get enough love. puts out a video every single day as he pitches a fast ball that misses upstairs and the count is 1 and0 to Matt Chapman. Every single day he puts one out. He’s been a trooper. He’s been doing it for the last, I don’t know, six years or so. And he’s just stuck at the 570 some odd subscriber mark. Here’s the pitch. It is a fast ball that misses inside and the count now goes to 2 and 0. What he needs is that one viral video that will send him over the top. I’ve seen some interesting things that, you know, there was an old Scottish guy walking his dog and then he went off on TikTok. The next thing you know, as the pitch is on the way, a 98 mph fast ball misses inside, it’s now three balls and no strengths to Chapman. Just little things like that. All of a sudden, you get a nudge. Somebody gets something positive that comes their way and it explodes for you. Here’s the three- 0 pitch as the right-hander delivers. There’s a fast ball at 96. It misses way upstairs. That’s going to be ball four. It’s going to put runners at first and second. It’s going to bring Jung-H Lee to the plate. And our friend Michael Hooks. Well, unfortunately for you, this is not what the doctor has ordered. So, it brings Jung-ho lead to the plate who is one for two tonight. He has raised his season average to 258. Had that single in the fourth and he grounded out in the second. And now they have a conference on the mound as the Padres’s pitching coach is on his way out. And you’re going to have a few words here with their right-hander Morgan. The pitching coach is Ruben Nibla or Nebla if that’s how you say the name properly or Nibbla. Nibbla Nebella as he is out there having a word with his young right-hander. Four balls in a row to Matt Chapman and he’s going to be facing Lee. There is action in the pen as Jason Adam is up and throwing. Well, that conference is over and we’re ready to go back to the action here. So, runner at second Flores, runner at first, Chapman. I saw a flash come across the screen. I guess the show Otane had hit into a triple play. I wonder what that will be. I’m sure it’ll be on highlights. Anytime you get a triple play, but certainly one that would involve Otane would be even more interesting. So, here comes the offering to Lee. It’s a fast ball swung on. This ball is lifted into right field and making the catch is Tatis as he has to leap to catch it. Flores is not going to be able to tag. He’s going to stay right on the bag and that’s going to retire Lee for the first out of the inning. He hit the ball right on the screws, but right to the glove of the right fielder, Tatis Jr. And that is going to bring up the right fielder and Tyler Fitzgerald. Or is it? Looks like Dominic Smith has grabbed the bat and he’s come into the on deck circle. So, looks like Fitzgerald’s night is going to be done. But on top of that, they are out to talk to the pitcher again. Are they going to make the change or is Morgan still going to be with us here? They must be giving some instructions to Morgan because the right-hander Smith is about to be announced. So, they’re probably talking over how they want to pitch him. So, that conference of Padres’s is over. It was a Friars convention on the hill. Runner at second, Flores, runner at first, Chapman. One gone here in the inning. And Tyler Fitzgerald has been pitch hit for by Dominic Smith. So Dominic Smith into pinch hit. Batting from the left side here. He’s hitting 279 on the season. He got the start in last night’s ball game. And there’s a first pitch fast ball swung on and hammered foul over by the Padres’s dugout. The count is quickly 0 and one. Our friend Mike Cool Hooks has got his fingers crossed. He doesn’t want any more runs to be scored. Can’t say that I necessarily blame you. So, no balls in one strike as the right-hander ready to go again. Kicks and delivers. There’s a breaking ball waved out and missed. And now Morgan’s ahead of Smith way in front at 0 and2. So, no balls and two strikes. Interestingly enough, it is a 14game hitting streak that Smith has going right now. Didn’t make it into the lineup tonight. That would kind of suck if you lost your hitting streak and a pinch hit appearance. And if this was the only at bat that he got tonight, I know people don’t worry about stats, but that would be disappointing. You don’t see the big long hitting streaks in baseball. There’s a breaking ball that just misses upstairs and the count goes to one and two. So, one ball and two strikes. Smith again waiting on the offering from Morgan. Here comes the one, two pitch on the way. Fast ball swung on and lifted foul. It’s going to reach the seats over on the third base side. Count remains at 1 and two. And you look at it, he’s got the longest hitting streak in baseball as of games through yesterday. Smith at 14. Tyler Soderstrom had 11. And then going into tonight’s game, Otani was at 10. There’s a fast ball swung on his grounded through the right side into right field. And stopping at third is going to be Flores. Chapman is going to be safe at second. Dominic Smith continues the hot hitting, his 15th game in a row as he’s got a base hit single to load the bases. And now that’s going to bring up Patrick Bailey. Now that in itself is a conundrum because Bailey may have used up his token earlier as he had a hit and a walk in this one. He’s certainly not one of the more productive players in which to do it. And it is going to bring the manager out of the dugout as Mike Schmemell Mike Schult is going to come take the ball from David Morgan. It looks like Adam is coming in in relief. And we’ve got ourselves a timeout here. We’ll be right back in just a few. Our friend Mike Cool Hook says he tapped out. Probably a better decision to do that. Better to have something than nothing, but we’ll be back in just a couple moments after this from our friend Steve. Hello everybody. Steve Rodmarker come back at you again and during this pitching change for a change of pace. Let’s open some baseball cards. We’ll get through these quickly. 2023 Tops big league. We have rookie card of Tyler Freeman to go along with a Matt Chapman. And why not a Jake Croninworth shoot them Jake. We do have a rookie card of Brett Batty. That’s pretty cool to go along with the uncommon Carlos Koreah. Pretty common to me, but what do I know? Trey Manini to go along with a rookie of Kodi Sanga. Freddy, tell them about Kodi. And one of my favorites, Devin Williams of my Milwaukee Brewers. All right, looks like the pitcher is coming in. Freddy, you can take over now. Welcome back everybody. We do have the pitching change and it is going to be Jason Adam coming on in relief. He is going to be the third pitcher used tonight by the San Diego Padres’s. For Adam, well, he’s enjoying himself a pretty good year. He’s got a a win loss record of seven and three. He’s making his 58th appearance. He’s worked 57 and a3 innings so far this year. And on top of it, he’s allowed 44 hits, 15 runs. Only 11 have been earned. He’s walked 25 and struck out 63. That is where we stand right now in this one. So, Adams completing his tune-up tosses and he is ready to get going. He’s come into a tough situation. The bases are full of Giants. There’s only one gone here in the inning and Patrick Bailey at the plate. And so he is batting from the left side and the first pitch is a center cut fast ball for a called strike. The count is 0 and one. So I was mentioning yesterday, you might as well take your chances and throw the ball right down the middle to Bailey because he hasn’t shown that he can hit much. Not having a very good year offensively, only batting 217. And now time has been called by Bailey as he steps out of the batters box. So, we’re going to hit the reset button. Dominic Smith with that base hit. He’s come out of the ball game. It is Drew Gilbert into run form at first base. That was the other change as he will most likely take over in right field as the right-hander Adam kicks and delivers. There is a fast ball swung on and fouled away. And the count now goes to 0 and2. So, no balls in two strikes. So way ahead in the count here is Adam as Bailey sets back in batting from the left side here. It’s the first time tonight. Fast ball swung on popped up just behind second base. Moving back underneath it is the shortstop. Bogarts waves everybody off as he makes the catch. And that is going to retire Bailey for the second out of the inning. And that’s going to leave it all up to Helio Ramos. Well, for Ramos tonight, it is a night I’m sure he would like to forget up to this point, but he has the chance to make amends for it. He is 0 for three in this one. He has struck out twice and popped to second. Mile Cool Hook saying that he maybe he should have stayed in. Yeah. Well, the Padres’s bullpen is probably the best in the biz. There’s a first pitch fast ball swung on. It’s popped up over on in foul territory on the right side. Underneath it is Aras. He’s there to make the catch. And that is going to do it as A Ramos is going to be gone for the third out of the inning. And the Giants squander a golden opportunity and they can’t cash anything in. There’s no runs, two hits, no errors, and three runners left aboard. And if you’re keeping track along with us, that’s nine left aboard here for the Giants tonight. Our friend Kenny’s tapping out. Kenny, appreciate you for being here. Your score as we move to the top of the seventh inning. It is a 4-1 Padres’s lead. We’ll be back here in just a bit. And Kenny, thanks for stopping in. We’re glad glad to have you with us. We hope to see you again soon. We’ll be back on the airwaves again next week for some late evening baseball on the east coast or in your case in the great state of Kentucky. Hang tight everybody. We’ll be back in a few Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Welcome back everybody. We are moving ourselves to the top of the seventh inning. The back third of the ball game is upon us and coming to bat here for the Padres’s be Jake Croninworth, Freddy Fine, and Fernando Tatis Jr. The Giants have made a pitching change as they’re going to their bullpen. They are calling on a left-hander. And this is going to be Matt Gage. And the first pitch is a fast ball that misses down and in. And the count is one ball and no strike. So check that. Did that get to be called the ball? That was a strike. Then the second pitch was a ball. So one and one to Jake Croninworth. The pitch on the way again. Breaking ball swung on and grounded up the middle. Fielded on the backhand by Schmidt. He throws to first and they are going to be able to get Croninworth on a ground out four to three. He’s gone for the first out of the inning and that’s going to bring up Freddy Fine. So while I was getting information done here on Matt Gage, I have to tell you Matt Gage has had a pretty good year this year all things considering. We were talking about him in one of the prior streams. It’s his second team that he’s been with this year. The Detroit Tigers were the first. He pitched in six games for the Tigers. Fast ball taken for a called strike. Council one to Fine. For the Tigers, he went five and two/3 innings, allowed seven hits, didn’t allow a run. Walk two and struck out three. Excellent work by Gage. Breaking ball swung on. This is going to be looped into right field over the head of Des. And F means got himself a one out single. That’ll be the top the order in Fernando Tatis Jr. So here he goes to San Francisco Tigers for all that good pitching. DFam and he gets picked up by the Giants. Well the Giants he’s had appeared in nine ball games. He’s worked 12 and a third innings. He’s allowed six hits, walked three and struck out 10. And he hasn’t allowed a run. So 17 18 innings actually this year now if you include the first out and he has yet to allow a run and there’s a slow breaking ball that catches the outside corner and it counts 0 and one to Fernando Tatis Jr. for Tatis Jr. he is 0 for two with a walk tonight as the lefty Gage ready to go again. Lefty Gage kicks and fires. There is a breaking ball that misses upstairs and the count now goes to one and one. So one ball and one strike. Padres’s four Giants one. Runs have come in the first, the second, and the fourth for the Friars. Pitches a breaking ball. The miss is down and in. And the count now goes to two and one on Tatis Jr. My cool hook says runners in scoring position is always so bad for San Fran. Well, the problem with San Fran is they’ve stranded nine runners in six innings so far. Haven’t been able to have a clutch hit as there’s a breaking ball waved out and missed and the count goes to two and two. And I don’t think it’s just runners and scoring position. It’s being able to string hits together to put together an inning where you can put a crooked number on the board. The Giants just haven’t seemed to be able to get that rolling. And my cool hook says they leave him on base every game. Yeah, that’s unfortunate. Here’s the pitch. It’s a fast ball swung on. This is going to be grounded through the sixhole into left field. So, Tatis has got himself a single that’s going to advance for over to second and it’s going to bring a Louisa Rise to the plate with runners at first and second and only one gone. And that would even doubly hurt if you’ve got a chance to score some runs. You got the bases loaded, you don’t cash in anything, and the next thing you know is the other team can come back and put a couple of runs on the board. Well, they got Budo up and throwing. Gage, the lefty ready to face the left-handed hitting Arise as he kicks and delivers. There’s a breaking ball. Take it for a called strike. Counts 0 and one. Arise 0 for three tonight. He has struck out, popped or flown to left and grounded to short. Arise had a tough night at the office last night. He grounded out to every infielder. He was 0 for five as the pitch is on the way. It’s a breaking ball that just misses down and the count now runs even at one and one. So, one ball and one strike. Michael Cole Hook says he’s hard to believe they couldn’t put runs up on the board in the bottom of the last half inning. And I have to agree with you as there’s a breaking ball swung on. It is lifted foul down the left field line and the count is now one and two. So a ball and two strikes. More action as we said in that bullpen for Frisco as they do have the right-hander heating. See if Gage can get through Arise. Here is the one-two offering. Pitch on the way. Slow breaking ball swung on. Grounded over to first. They go to second for one and they’re not going to be able to get anybody on the backside. Arise able to do it. Nice play there by Rafi Des who is often much maligned for his defense. But it is Arise is going to reach on the fieldielder’s choice. It’s going to erase Tatis. He’s gone three to six for the second out of the inning. Safe at third is for mean and it’s going to bring Manny Machado to the plate and Gage blew a attire getting over to first base over there. That was the thing. And Bob Melvin has come out to take the ball from him. We are going to have a pitching change here as they are again going to the bullpen. Hang on everybody. We’ll be right back in just a few. It is a 4 to1 ball game. We’ll get you that update when we return in just a moment. Here is another timeout from our friend Steve. Hello everybody. And you know why we’re here. Well, of course you do. You’d be nuts not to be here to watch Freddy call another game. Freddy the King of Kings on baseball commentary. You know what? Come to think of it, with Freddy, there’s absolutely nothing hotter than listening to him broadcast. Not even the Reaper Triple XX Puckered Butt Squeezings hot sauce. We’ll just give it a whirl here. All right, Freddy. Cheers. Mhm. Holy cow. That may be a close second to you, Freddy. Still the hottest broadcast right now on YouTube. Peace out. Call a great game. Welcome back everybody. We do have a pitching change as the Giants are going to their bullpen. It’s going to be Jose Bhau, the right-hander, 27 years old, coming into the ball game. He’s going to be making his 39th appearance of the season. the one-time New York Met is making his fifth appearance for the Giants. He has worked four and a third innings. He’s allowed one hit, walked two and struck out five. So, BH on in relief here of Matt Gage. And so, the runners who are on the corners, they are responsible or Gage is responsible for those runners. It is going to bring Manny Machado to the plate. So Budo ready to face Machado here who is one for three tonight. A single he scored a run and he’s flown out to right field twice. So Budo ready to go as Machado waits on the first offering from the righty and it is a breaking ball that’s waved out and missed. Count is quickly 0 and one. Chado hitting 297 on the year 20 homers and 72 RBI’s again. Budo works himself to the set position. Here comes the pitch. There’s a breaking ball that misses way outside and the count now goes to one and one. So, one ball and one strike. When this game is over, we’ll give you the full roundup from around Major League Baseball as there are all kinds of games that are now finals across the MLB as a breaking ball misses down. It’s now two- one. Trying to keep tabs on the different scores ourselves here. Detroit Tigers were down 93 entering the top of the ninth and they’ve cut the to 96 against the White Socks. Breaking ball misses down and away and the count now goes to three and one on Machado. Waiting on deck is Xander Bogarts. There’s a couple other games still going on as the Athletics are beating the Rays 5 zip and it’s 5-5 with the Dodgers and the Angels pitch on the way. Breaking ball misses down and away. Machado is going to get himself a walk. That is going to load the bases and that is going to bring Xander Bogarts to the plate. So, welcome to the game, BH. And he walks the first batter that he faces. Well, not the worst thing. how you set up the force at any base. Brings Bogarts to the plate who’s one for three tonight. He’s got a double in his three trips. He’s also struck out looking and grounded to second as the right-hander delivers the first pitch. Fast ball swung through and missed. Count is 0 and one. Team that you got to keep an eye on right now is the Cleveland Guardians. Guardians won again tonight. They’ve increased their record to 62 and 56 and they are gaining ground on the Tigers in the Central. Here’s the pitch. Another fast ball swung on him and missed and the count now goes to 0 and2 pitch that looked like they were sinkers. Really tight rotation. Milwaukee Brewers talking about hot. They continue to roll. They got their 75th win of the year. And the Blue Jays have joined the 70 win club as they knocked off the Cubs today. As I say, we’ll get you all that a little bit later. Here’s the pitch to Bogarts. Breaking ball swung on and grounded foul over on the third base side. Count remains at 0 and2. So, no balls and two strikes to Bogarts. Bases are full of friars. as Buudo ready to deliver. Here comes the O2 offering. It’s a breaking ball swung on. It is lifted into deep left field and camping out at the edge of the warning tack as Ramos. He’s there to make the catch. And the Padres’s, they strand a whole bunch here in the inning. There was no runs in the inning on the benefit of two hits. There was no errors and there were three runners left aboard. Your score as we move to the bottom of the seventh inning. It is a 4-1 Padre lead. Looking ahead, it’s going to be Schmidt, Devers, and Adamus to come to bat here. Be back in just a couple moments after this timeout on the Last Drafts Baseball YouTube channel. Stay with us everybody. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Welcome back everybody. It is going to be the two, three, and four hitters slated to come to bat here. That means Casey Schmidt, Raphael Devers, and Willie Adamus. We’re just waiting to see if it is still going to be Jason Adam. And it is going to be that for sure. So Adam is going to stay in here to face the two, three, and four hitters. And the first pitch coming up here to Casey Schmidt is a breaking ball that drops in for a called strike. And the count is quickly 0 and one. So no balls and one strike. Schmidt tonight is two for three. He’s got a single, a double. He’s also scored a run, which is the only one for the Giants as the pitch on the way is a fast ball missing upstairs. And the count runs even to one and one. So, one ball and one strike. Again, the right-hander working to the belt as he holds to the set position. Pitch on the way. Breaking ball swung on. This is going to be looped into left center field. It’s going to get down for a base hit. It’s going to be Schmidt’s third hit of the night as he’s got a single. And that’ll bring up the first baseman and Raphael Devers. That wasn’t a bad pitch. It actually was middle in. And good job there by Schmidt to keep his hands inside it. To get himself a base hit there. Well, that brings to the plate who is one for three tonight. He’s got a single in three trips. He’s also struck out looking and bounced into a fieldielder’s choice. And the first pitch to Devers is a breaking ball that misses off the outside corner and the count is 1 and0. Seemed like a different time when Nester Cortez was in this game. It feels like it was yesterday, but he definitely in did get the start. Here’s the pitch. It is a breaking ball. Take it for a called strike. Oh, the count goes even to one and one. Friend Martin says, “Glad to see Schmidt having a good end to his season, but totally wasted on this team.” Well, I guess they’re gonna have to find out if he can play every day between now and the end. But he’s had a couple of decent ball games. There’s a breaking ball missing outside of the count now two and one to De is going to have to get a pitch, one good pitch to hit in this at bat and he hasn’t seen it yet. So, here comes the 2-1 offering as the right-hander delivers. There’s a fast ball swung on. It’s going to be lifted. Foul. I don’t even know if that was the best pitch of the at bat. Deborra is pretty antsy at the plate. So, two balls and two strikes it is. Desance waiting on the offering here from Adam who kicks and delivers. There is a breaking ball swung on. It’s grounded over to first. Aras goes to second for one. Back to first. And it’s not going to be in time. That’s going to be a fieldielder’s choice. It’s going to go 36 in the books. Schmidt’s going to be retired at second. And I think all day long you make that trade on the base pass if you were the Padres’s. So, you’re going to take Devers over Schmidt for sure. Tip your hat to Devers. He was racing all the way down the line. I don’t think they’re going to challenge that one. But we’re going to have to wait and see. No, I don’t think they’re going to go upstairs. So, that is going to be a fieldielder’s choice. Devils, as I said, not necessarily known for showcasing his wheels, but he did there. And there is a first pitch breaking ball swung on and missed. The count is 0 and one to Adamus. Adamus tonight 0 for three has struck out twice. He was coming off a ball game last night where he wasn’t a whole lot better. He was 0 for four with a strike out. And there’s a breaking ball swung on. This ball is lifted into right field. Camping out underneath it is Tatis. He’s there to make the catch. I don’t think he saw it. I don’t think that he was able to see the ball. It looked like it was he lost sight of it and then he kind of got underneath it. But regardless, that’s the second out of the inning. And that’ll leave it up to the designated hitter in Wilmer Flores. Martin says he definitely deserves a long look. It’s unfortunate he’s putting it together when they’re falling out of it. Well, maybe he keeps that run going into 2026. It is disappointing because there’s 43 games left going into tonight and the Giants have been going in the wrong direction as that fast ball misses up and into Flores. Flores tonight two for three. He’s driven in the Giants only run as the right-hander Adam holds set now delivers. There is a change up that misses down and the count now goes to 2 and 0. So, two balls and no strikes. Padres’s enjoying a 4 to1 lead here as the pitch on the way is a change up that’s taken for a cold strike. The count now goes to two and one on Flores. Got the right-hander working to the belt. And he kicks and he fires. There’s a breaking ball swung on. This is grounded foul over on the third base side. Counts two and two to Flores. Third base umpire tonight in tonight’s game is Quinn Walcott who worked the plate last night and he fielded the ball and threw it to the ball. Dude, there’s a breaking ball swung out at miss and Flores is down on strikes. He swung at a pitch that Jav Bayz would chase after. It was in the other batters box and he is going to be retired for the third out of the inning. No runs in the inning. There’s no hits, no errors. One runner left aboard. Check that. One hit in the inning and one runner left aboard. Your score as we move to the top of the eighth. It is a 4-1 Padre lead. We’ll be back here in just a couple moments. We appreciate you guys for hanging in and I’ll answer Martin’s question and comment on that in just a moment when we return after this timeout. Welcome back everybody. Our friend Martin says, “I wonder if we’re going to see Bryce Eldridge, but Posey seems to be in no rush. Can’t say I disagree.” Yeah, I don’t know what Eldridge is doing. I know he had a pretty good start to the season and then I just kind of fell off my radar. That’s the other thing. I I kind of wondered why they would trade for Devers, make him the first baseman. And you think about it at third is playing at third base is Chapman. And you know, when you have Chapman in that situation, you know, you look at it and you say, well, they’ve got him locked up for a little bit. Where does that put the big first baseman? You don’t want to bring him up and then let him languish. Got to be able to play. Got to play every day. Well, it is going to be Jackson Merrill, Ramon Lauraniano, and Jose Glaciius slated to come to bat as it is a pitching change here for the Giants as it’s going to be Carson Seymour coming in. Relief. It’s my first time seeing Seymour pitch this year. So, he is a right-hander. He’s making his seventh appearance of the year. He’s got a record of 0 and one. And the first pitch on the way is a fast ball that misses inside for ball one. He has worked 14 innings. He’s allowed 17 hits, nine runs, seven have been earned, walking four and striking out 12. So, one ball and no strikes to Merryill as the pitch on the way is a breaking ball that bounces up to the plate. The counts two and 0. Merryill doubled his last time up and he was stranded at third. His other two appearances he struck out. So, officially one for three in this one here tonight. as the right-hander delivers again. There is a fast ball swung on. This is going to be lifted foul into these seats over on the third base side. Merrill has raised his season average. Well, he’s got it at 261 as the right-hander rocks and delivers. Fast ball swung on. This ball is belted into deep left field. This ball could be trouble and you can add some points to the batting averages. Jackson Merrill has gone the other way with a solo shot to start the eighth inning. And that is going to increase the score line to 5 to one for the Padres. So, a little bit more breathing room for San Diego as Merrill rounds the bases and that is going to bring up the left fielder in Raone Laureno. So unfortunately for the Giants, them fading out of the playoff picture, the Padres’s are not only moving up the ladder, they’re going to be knocking on the door to take the Dodgers out of first place in the West before you know it. The first pitch fastball is taken up and away and the count is quickly 1 and0. The current standings, the Padres’s find themselves one game behind the Dodgers, breathing down their necks. There’s a breaking ball swung on and it’s grounded foul over on the third base side and the count is one and one to Lauriano. Lauraniano two for three tonight. A single, a double, he scored a couple of runs, stolen a base and he’s flown out. So I guess if you are the enemies of these two teams, everybody does hate the Dodgers. So a loss here for the Giants tonight would only help the Padres’s keep closer to the Dodgers. So sometimes your enemies become your friends. Here’s the pitch. Breaking ball just misses down. Count goes to two and one on Laureniano. Martin says how Merryill is pretty good and if you can’t have Giants joy, at least you can have Dodger Pain. I think there would be a lot of people queuing up for that. As there’s a pitch that misses down, it’s now three and one. And there is a fast ball that misses down. It’s going to be ball four. And that is going to be a walk to Lauriano. So the first two batters that Seymour has faced has not gone well. The home run to Merryill and the walk to Laureno. Brings up the question or at least brings a question to me. I I’m looking at next year or thinking of next year’s World Baseball Classic rosters. I would have thought Jackson Merrill might have got a sniff for next year, but I don’t know if the season that he’s put forward this year is helping his case. I would have thought that maybe he would have got the Bobby Wit Jr. treatment because I thought it was a little early for Whit to be on the last one, but he held his own and certainly this one Bobby Wit is going to be a mainstay. Everybody knows he can play. But my question will be is is Jackson Merrill going to be a part of the party? Maybe a fourth outfielder. You think if Trout and Judge are playing in the next one? One other opportunity is how many other outfield spots? You got one other outfield spot as Mel part of that. There’s a fast ball that misses inside. Count as one and0 to uh one and0 to Gavin Sheets. Sheets is hitting here for Jose Glaciius. And the pitch on the way. There is a fast ball that swung on and fouled away. And the count goes even at one and one. So Glaciius’s night is done with a home run and knocking in a pair. Thank you for your service. As Drew Gilbert races in, picks up the ball and fires it into the stands. A souvenir for the San Francisco faithful. So again, here comes the pitch from the right-hander who kicks and delivers. There’s a breaking ball that misses way outside. The countdown goes to two and one. So, two balls in a strike. It’s been a quiet night for the ball dudes in San Francisco tonight. Not a lot of action for them as there’s a fast ball that comes up and in and the count goes to three and one on sheets. Got to tell you, Carson Seymour here has struggled since he entered the ball game. a home run, a walk, and he’s about to do the same here to Sheets. They’ve got the left-handed hitting Croninworth on deck. There was a fast ball swung on it, missed. The count now goes full Sheets. Giants in the hole. Five to one. Top of the eighth inning here as the pitch on the way. Fast ball swung on. Grounded softly to second. They go to second for one. Back to first. It’s not going to be in time. It’s going to be a fieldielder’s choice. It’s going to erase Laureniano. You want him off the base pass. He’s gone four to six for the first out of the inning. Safe on the back end is Sheets. And that is going to bring Jake Croninworth to the plate. Well, for Croninorth tonight, he is one for three. He’s reached base twice. He has singled, he reached on an error, and he has grounded out in his three trips. And the first pitch on the way is a fast ball ticket for a called strike. And the count now goes to 0 and one. Croninworth defensively tonight has been busy and they could use him to add to the offense here as the breaking ball misses down and the count now goes even to one and one as the Padres’s are looking to generate yet another run. And the pitch on the way. Fast ball swung on. Lined to the glove of the second baseman Schmidt. And they are going to double off Gavin Sheets. It’s going to be a double play. It’s going to be four to three as Sheets is gone for the third out of the inning. And that will do it here. Hits the ball on the screws. Does Croninworth, but right to the glove of the second baseman, Schmidt. One run in the inning. It was the home run by Merrill. No hit. One run, one hit, no errors. Nobody left the board. Moving to the bottom of the eighth inning. It is a 5-1 San Diego lead. We’ll be back in just a couple moments. Thanks again for hanging in here with us tonight on the Last Ravs baseball YouTube channel. Be right back after this timeout. Hey, hey, hey. Let’s go. Yo, I’m like an addict. Do I got to have it? I ain’t even playing. Got a really bad habit. If it moves, got to grab it. Fuse like a magnet. Lose, won’t have it till I’m doomed in a casket. I ain’t playing. Got a weird mind. If you work 8 hours, I’mma work nine. If the shoot tastes sour, you should taste mine. I’mma stay in power for a long time. Get up now. I ain’t a quitter. Toss me the ball. I’m a really big hitter. Big picture, I’m a straight killer. I send the song to the highest hitter. Got juice, got gas, I’mma move fast. New shoes, new tracks. Like, who’s that? I’m new. Come back. Welcome back, everybody. We are moving ourselves to the bottom half of inning number eight. And we do have a left-hander coming in for the Padres’s. It’ll be Idrian making his 58th appearance. He’s 9 and4 on the year, has an even 2.0. 00 ERA in 54 innings. So Morahone in and Jason Adam out. So Morahone ready to go as the lefty will take over here. Matt Chapman, Junghu Lee and Drew Gilbert to face him here as the pitch on the way. Breaking ball waved at and missed. The count is quickly on one to Chapman. Chapman 0 for two tonight has struck out flown to center and walked. Batting from the right side here against the left-handed slants of Pitch on the way. Fast ball misses upstairs. Count now runs even to one and one. So a ball and a strike. Bottom of the eighth inning. The Giants got to get some offense going. They need some instant runs. There’s a fast ball that swung on and missed. That was at 97. Count goes to one and two as Chapman has asked for his timeout. I was talking about it before they how they hit the reset button here and how they do it. I’m just one thing I’d like to see a little bit more of is where they can freeze the pitcher. There’s a fast ball that is at 98 just under the hands. That runs the count to two and two. I’m impressed by Morahone here. He can really dial it up as the offering comes. It’s a fast ball swung on. This was fouled straight back. So, Chapman was on the pitch, but it count remains at two and two. So, two balls and two strikes. And the lefty kicks and fires. There’s a breaking ball waved out and missed. Chapman’s in the books. He’s gone for the first out of the inning. And that’ll bring up the center fielder and Junghu Lee. Michael Hook says it’s an Otani homer that has put the Dodgers up six to five. Been perusing that a little bit. It was Otani who lined into the triple play earlier on. So, he’s going to be all over the highlight reels tonight for the right and the wrong reasons. There’s a fast ball taken for a called strike and the counter is 0 and one to Lee. Lee’s got a single in three trips again as the lefty delivers. There’s a breaking ball swung on, grounded back to the pitcher. Oh, what an athletic play by He was falling off to the third base side. He had to reach back with his glove. He makes the play and he throws out the runner going to first. That’s going to be a ground out. One to three for the second out of the inning. That is going to bring up the right fielder in Drew Gilbert. Well, for Gilbert, he’s batting from the left side. He’s one for three tonight as the lefty leans in and gets the sign. And now he works himself to the set position. And here comes the pitch. It’s a fast ball ticket for a called strike. The count is 0 and one to Gilbert. Gilbert got his first career hit in last night’s ball game. He did get the start. Got the monkey off his back. I think he was 0 for 14 to begin his career. There was a fast ball swung on his chopped up the middle. fielded by the third baseman Machado who is well into the six hole. He’s going to fire Gilbert out at first. It’s a ground out. Five to three. He’s gone for the third out of the inning. And that is going to do it here for the Giants in their half of the eighth. They go quietly and in order. No runs, no hits, no errors, nobody left the board. We are now moving to the top of inning number nine. Your score is the Padres’s five. The Giants one. Stay with us everybody. They’re into the deep potter now. We’ll be right back after this. Hello, this is Eric Fox, formerly of the Oakland A’s and Texas Rangers baseball teams. If you want to learn about Japanese baseball, see Coach Fred, Last Wraps Baseball. If you want to baseball instruction, see Coach Fred. You want to learn about golf, do not go to Coach Fred. Fred, what kind of club is this? At last scraps baseball, we know baseball. Well, you’ve got to have an ace in the hole. A little secret that nobody knows. Life is a gamble, a game we all play. But you’ve got to save something for a rainy day. You got to learn to play your cards right. If you expect to win in life, don’t put it all on the line for just one roll. You’ve got to have a n. That’s right, everybody. Even though we’re doing the Padres’s and the Giants, that is our friend down in San Diego, Matt Hollis. It is another Hollis build. Be sure to check him out after the game. Coming to here in the ninth inning, it is going to be Freddy Fine. And then the top of the order in Fernando Tatis Jr. and Luis Arise to face the Giants relievers here. We’re just getting a confirmation as it is. We still have Seymour, but looks like he is still going to be on the hill. So, he’s coming back out for another inning as he’s ready to face Fermine. And he kicks and delivers. There’s a fast ball taken for a called strike. And the count is quickly 0 and one to Fine. Firm mean one for three tonight. He’s grounded into a double play line to third and singled in his three trips. As the pitch on the way is a breaking ball that catches the outside corner for called strike. the council on two. You see for me didn’t like that call. So no balls and two strikes as Seymour delivers. There’s a breaking ball that misses down and the count now goes to one and two. So one ball and two strikes. It is again the rightander rocking into the motion and delivering. Pitch fast ball misses outside. Count now goes to two and two. So, two balls and two strikes. Top of the ninth inning here. Padres’s with a four to one lead. Fast ball swung on. Grounded up the middle. Fielded neatly by the shorts stop at Damas. He fires to first and Fine is going to be retired on a ground out. 6-3 for the first out of the inning. And that’ll bring up the right fielder in Fernando Tatis Jr. Well, for Tatis Jr. officially one for three. He has also drawn a walk in this one. So batting against Seymour here for the first time. Takes a 97 mph fast ball on the outside corner for a called strike. You can see the San Diego players are not really happy with the strike zone right now. The home plate umpire as there is a fast ball ticket for a called strike and it’s now 0 and2 to Tatis Jr. played umpire here tonight is Paul Clemens, but the last couple of batters here not been impressed with the calls. Here’s the pitch. It’s a breaking ball that misses down and they’re going to get rid of that one there as he’ll get a new pitch or a new baseball here for Seymour. So, one ball and two strikes it is to Tatis Jr. Again, Seymour delivers. There’s a fast ball at 98 under the hands. Backs. Tatis Jr. off of the plate. Two balls and two strikes. Getting the right-hander holding ball close to his chest. Delivers a breaking ball. Swung on. Grounded to short. Adamus throws to first and Tatis is going to be retired at a ground out. Six to three. He’s out for the second out of the inning. That’s going to bring up the first baseman and Louisa Rise. Well, it’s been a tough series for Arise. 0 for five last night, 0 for four tonight. Looking to get off the Schneider as the pitch on the way is a fast ball that misses down and the count is 1 and0. Friend Mike Cool Hook says the Giants bats are so awful. Well, their lack of clutch hitting is another thing that is not very good. They’ve left 10 aboard here tonight as that pitch misses down and the count now goes to two and0 on a rise. Again, the righthander Seymour delivers fast ball swung on chop foul over on the first base side. Two balls and one strike it is. Reminder, once this one’s over, we’ll give it the full roundup around Major League Baseball as the games are slowly coming to a finish as the pitch is on the way. There’s a fast ball that oo just misses inside now. Three balls and one strike to arise. That had a lot of back door run to it. A cut. Myself as much surprised as anybody as the pitch on the way. There’s a fast ball that misses down and in. It’s going to be ball four. Arise is going to reach base. That is going to bring up Manny Machado to the plate. It is the bottom of the ninth inning in Los Angeles. The battle of the two clubs Dodgers with a six to five lead in that one over the Angels. Here’s the first offering to Machado. Breaking ball swung on, popped up, foul over on the first base side of home plate. Count is 0 and one to Machado. Seymour ready to go back to work again. Working quickly as he kicks and fires. There’s a fast ball missing outside. The count runs even to one and one. So, one ball and one strike and the right-hander kicks and fires. There’s a fast ball swung on, grounded over to the right side, fielded by Schmidt. He throws to first. Machado is going to be gone on a ground out four to three. He’s out for the third out of the inning. And that is going to do it here for the Padres’s. No runs in the inning. No hits, no errors, one runner left the board. We’re moving to the bottom of the ninth inning. Last chance saloon for the Giants coming to bat here will be scheduled Bailey Aramos and Schmidt. We’ll be back in just a couple moments. We’ll see if the Giants can pull a miraculous comeback or if the Padres’s will just finish the deal. We’ll be back in just a few right after this. Heat. Heat. Hey, hey, hey. Welcome back everybody. It’s going to be the 91 and two hitters to come to bat here in the batting order and it is going to be the closer surprisingly. Robert Suarez coming in. would have thought that maybe Padres’s might have gone in a different direction, but he is going to be the fifth pitcher used tonight by the San Diego Ball Club. So, Robert Suarez on in relief as he is completing his tune-up toss is making his 53rd appearance. He is 4 and4 on the year. So, Suarez coming in here in relief. Suarez has worked 50 in a third innings allowed 37 hits. 19 runs, 18 have been earned. Pitching down that 322 RA and the first pitch fast ball misses way upstairs to Patrick Bailey. One ball and no strikes. Bailey tonight is one for two. He’s got a single and two trips. He’s also drawn a walk as the right-hander delivers again. There’s a fast ball swung on it. goes straight back. Count now even at one and one. So, one ball and one strike again. Bailey digs himself in as Suarez ready to go back to work. Here’s the pitch. Fast ball misses down. It’s now two and one. So, two balls and one strike and the right-hander delivers. It’s a fast ball swung on and lifted foul. It’s going to reach the seats down the left field line. Count goes even at two and two. Just a reminder on the channel, we will be back on the airways for Japanese baseball Friday, Saturday night, North American time. Of course, Robert Suarez was formerly a Hansen Tiger. There’s a fast ball taken at the knees for a called third strike. Oh, Patrick Bailey, we saw him do it three times last night and he’s done it again tonight. Looks absolutely lost at the plate. That’s going to bring up Helio Ramos. And for Ramos, well, he is 0 for four tonight in this one. Struck out twice, popped the second, and popped the first. Pitch on the way. Fast ball misses. Up and away. and the count is 1 and 0. And then next week, we’re going to do these same two ball clubs on Monday and Tuesday night. We’re going to do the game between the Giants and the Padres’s from Petco. Fastball ticket for a called strike and then that would probably put a finish on our games. I don’t know if we’ll do anything Wednesday or Thursday next week. Have to wait and see to play it by ear a little bit. Here’s the pitch. Fast ball at 100 mph. Swung on and fouled away. And the count remain is now at 1 and2 to Ramos. We’ll be not back on the airwaves until the month of September as we are going to be overseas in Asia for a little bit. Here’s the pitch. Fast ball swung on, grounded over to the right side, fielded neatly by the second baseman, Croninworth. He’s going to throw Ramos out on a ground out four to three. And that is two on the books. And now the Giants are down to their final out. It is going to be Casey Schmidt coming to the plate. Schmidt tonight is three for four. He’s got a couple of singles and a double. Our friend Cool Hooks is wishing death on the Dodgers. I can see exactly what’s going on. It’s bases loaded situation I think over there with one gone. Fast ball that misses down and the count is 1 and0. Looks like Zack Neto is at the plate. We’ll keep an eye on that one while we’re here. There’s a fast ball at 99 taken for a called strike. counts one and one to Schmidt. I don’t know if it was the walk to and that. Oh, there’s a pitch. It’s a fast ball swung on. It’s going to be another hit for Casey Schmidt. His fourth hit of the night as he hits a single through the four hole into right field. So, the Giants still have life. Now, they got a base runner and it’s going to bring Rafi Devers to the plate. Divers tonight one for four. He’s got a single in four trips. He has reached base three times. He’s got on a fieldielder’s choice a couple of times and he did strike out looking. So this brings Devers to the plate. I’m curious to see how Suarez is going to pitch to him. I’d just go right after him with my number one pitch, which is your fast ball. There is a change up that swung on and tap foul over on the first base side. Got to love it when your chains up change up flies in at 91 miles an hour. That’s a problem most pitchers would love to have. So my cool hooks a little bit disappointed in his Giants. There’s a fast ball ticket for a called strike and the count now goes to 0 and2. I don’t I think is going to produce. I just don’t know if the rest of the team that’s around him is going to be able to live up to expectations. And it is a tie game as the Angels have locked it up with Trout coming to the plate. One out, actually two out and the B and runners at first and second as that fast ball misses outside to devers. So the Giants are down to their final strike here as the right-hander Suarez delivers a fast ball that misses down and away and the count goes even to two and two. So, do you want to take your chances with Trout or do you want to let Taylor Ward beat you? Because in that game, Trout is up to bat. A chance to win it for the Angels. Here comes the pitch from Suarez. Fast ball at 99. Swung on and hammered foul. Oh, the ball dude was getting out of the way. So, the count remains a two and two to Des. Got to make a play there, bald dude. But instead, he was Well, he tried to make a play. He almost wore that right in the face off the ricochet off the tarp. Oh, that would have been interesting. As time has been called here as the ball dude had to go out and retrieve the ball. So, two balls and two strikes to Des. He was just happy to let it lie there on the field. Here comes the pitch. kicks and fires. There’s a fast ball that misses upstairs at 100. Three balls and two strikes now to Des. Wouldn’t this be interesting if the Giants were able to get the tying run to the plate? So, three balls and two strikes and the right-hander delivers a 100 mph heater and he blows it right by Devers. He’s gone for out number three and we won’t have to worry about that scenario. No runs in the inning. They did have a hit. There was no errors and there was one runner left the board. Your final score is the Padres’s five and the Giants one. Stay with us everybody. We’ll come back and wrap up all the scoring from around Major League Baseball. We’ll be back in just a little bit after this. And we’ll also give you the rundown of this one as well. Padres’s win 5-1 over the Giants. We’ll be right back in just a few. Giants responded in the bottom of the first after a strike out by Helio Ramos upstepped Casey Schmidt with a double. Then Rafi Des singled and then it was a after Willadama struck out. It was Wilmer Flores with a RBI single to bring home Schmidt to tie the game at one. But after that, it was all San Diego. In the second inning, a leadoff single by Ramon Lauriano. He was brought home on a two-run homer by Jose Glaciius that made the score line three to one. In the fourth inning, a leadoff double by Laureniano. He stole third.
