Pitching matchup. We saw that weekend series in Arizona. Bradley Blaylock and Eduardo Rodriguez. Bradley Blaylock enters a game looking for his second win this year. He’s 1 to 37.89 earned run average that last start at Arizona opposite Rodriguez five earned runs and four and two thirds. He walked three and struck out four, a 10 pitch walk to Geraldo Perdomo. That is classic Perdomo and now there is one on and nobody out for, could tell Marte 11 reached for and popped up into shallow center. It is Doyle who is coming in and he’ll make the catch. Not a long look for the sign from Goodman. There goes Jerry, he’s off and running and that’s ball four to Corbin Carroll second walk in the inning for Blaylock and they got something cooking here. Chance for Gurriel in the clean up spot. And now there are two men on base for Lourdes Gurriel Junior on a couple of first inning walks by Blaylock. Gurriel gets it in the air. This is headed to right center field, it’s carrying, it’s on its way and it’s gone. Lourdes goal Junior makes it 30 out of the gate, the cleanup hitter, clean it up. It’s a three run shot for the Diamond Lourdes. It’s his 15th and the Diamondbacks jump out in front nice and early it’s 3 to 0 stakes make it 12 straight games. The Diamondbacks have scored within the first three innings of a ball game. They hit for back. Freeman holds at second tying run will come to the plate in Brenon Doyle got a three run lead here just let your pitcher try to work out of it. Especially with two outs runners on the move Herrera throws through to second Marte is able to get to it. Herrera hits a fly ball to right field. Come on ball. Keep going. There it goes and it’s gone. Jose herrera makes it five nothing Diamondbacks and he got just enough to get it out of here and it’s five zip at the top of the game. We said that. Blaylock has a tough time keeping the ball in the ballpark. Now that’s 11 home runs that he’s given up and in less than 45 innings pitched, Jerry walked and scored to lead it off off the bag Perdomo out at first. What a play by Colorado. That thing hung up there forever and aaron Shunk made it out. Yeah, it’s a good play all around. Even kyle Farmer, he does a good job keeping his eyes on the baseball going to make a play but Shunk beats him to it has the angle. Blalock for having some heads up awareness. And for the third time in four innings, the leadoff man on against Bradley Blaylock. Thomas drew a but that one ends up up the line to it quickly, Thomas headed towards third and he was in a dead sprint to get to that baseball. It took a perfect throw to get him and he made a perfect throw , got him on the sweep tag. He’s got that big wingspan at 65. Darrell’s got the pitch. A coach out there to have a conversation trying to survive this fourth inning at least and maintain that 50 gap. That’s two on and two out. Now for 11 is rope to right field. Marte hits it off. The Herrera will score perdomo coming home. Marte pulls into second with a two run double and it’s seven Diamondbacks. Oh, he has killed the Colorado Rockies this year. That was 112 off the bat and that’s going to do it for Bradley play, lock, seven runs allowed seven. Nothing is the diamond back lead. Rodriguez has been terrific on the mound as he works to Kyle Farmer. You see, drive on the board touch him all time. Kyle Farmer, number six for the vet 7 to 1. Arizona Eduardo Rodriguez, five innings of one run ball. So far, the D backs have a 7 to 1 lead and Rodriguez, I mean, if he just continues to do what he’s been doing is really going to get the Diamondbacks off on the right foot of this four game set and gonna get another out right here for Locklear who drifts over into foul territory and that’s the first out in the sixth. And any time you roll into Coors Field for four game series, you want to save as much bullpen as you can in those first couple of games, Doyle hits it on the ground up the middle of the center field to be a one out single. That’s the sixth hit for Colorado. Five of them are singles. They’ve been scattered. The exception of Kyle Farmer home run that led off the fifth. Locks got it for one, took off the force, get the tag. They got the tag on Doyle at second base and that will end the inning. A slick double play turned by Tyler Locklear. Top of the order for Arizona Perdomo leads off a walk and a run scored in the first inning and a ground out and Then a base hit another run scored in the fourth. Perdomo shoots one by, he’s on board for the third time tonight and he’s got his second hit inside out swing and just drills this ball the other way. It was down and away fastball. And now here’s Marte who’s got a two run double on the card. He’s one for 37 to 1. Diamondbacks here in inning number seven, Marte is aboard. He follows the single with a walk and now there are two on and nobody out and Corbin Carroll kind of looking for the finishing shot here and there’s the slug, it splits the gap and here we go is able to get over there and cut it off. Perdomo will score. Corbin’s got the RB I double and Marte stops at third. It’s 8 to 1, got a good pitch to hit and just hit a solid line shot that’s going to do it for Anthony Molina. Here comes Warrens to make a pitching change. Rodriguez seven innings. He gave up one run, six hits a walk, six strikeouts. Just what the D backs need in game one this series. You don’t want to come in here and give the Rockies any hope come in here and shut him down completely the way he Rod did tonight, the bullpen some credit tonight. They’re going to work five and a third innings and at the moment they’ve allowed just one run. Nick is not going to rub that left hand, but he felt it that came rocketing back but he got the leather on it and the left hander Jalen Beaks out to get the final three outs. 46 appearances for Jalen who worked one and two third late in that Tuesday game at Texas did not give up a hit and was the winning pitcher in that game against the Rangers deep left center field off the bat. He is gone do with his 11th big fly of the year. That’s a fastball from be just middle, middle, a little on the inside part of the plate. One and two. The count, two outs bottom of the ninth and he finishes things off in style and the Diamondbacks come into Colorado and they keep the winning mojo going and they get an 8 to 2 victory. They have won six of their last seven and they have won nine of 13 since they were trade deadline sellers, a huge huge tip of the cap Eduardo Rodriguez who pitched a GEM tonight when the team really needed a game, one of a four game series that could put him over 500.
