Dialing up intensity at training camp | 1920 Football Drive

There’s something special about this organization. That’s it. That’s it. Competition exists at all levels of our roster. Oh yeah. 1 2 3 win. I got in a day ago. Poke County, Florida. Lake Wells, Florida. That’s where we from. But my family is all over the place in Florida. For real. I got two kids, a little boy, a little girl, and then I got a wife. I’ve been with since high school. I think the best part for us, we’ve been able to see each other grow, go from young adults to adults, watching her learn how to, you know, I mean, be a mother. Her watching me learn how to be a father, be a adult, and see my dreams come true. And same for her. So, it’s been fun. I think it’ll be a competitive camp obviously after meeting the coaches and new players and stuff like that. Hopefully, everyone trying to make me better and then I’m trying to uh earn a spot. Every year you got to, you know what I mean? Earn your role during count. You get banged up a little bit. So, this right here, it’s like a cold therapy. It’s something that helped me at least learn how to start recovering better and stuff like that. My little boy Cart, he into cars right now. He got a lot of them. Right before I was going to take off, he gave it to me. So, this just give me something to think about him. Year three is a big year for me and year for us. It’ll feel obviously a little different. You know what I’m saying? Change is different, but I’ll be able to, you know, I mean, highlight my play style and this defense. The ceiling is very high. We want to be the best in the league, and I feel in my heart, and I feel the work that we’ve put in that this year will be different. It is report day. The 2025 Chicago Bears season is officially underway. Here we go again. Year two. Bear down, baby. It’s day one of the future is what it is. It’s day one of the future. Very excited to kick off the first NFL training camp. It’s been a blessing to be able to be out there, compete, just grow that bond. The best against the best. So just looking forward to continue to get better each and every day. It’s going to be a good year. We got extreme good coaching staff here. Our coaches, our players, everyone’s excited to get our fans going and get that energy up. Caleb, how do you feel about the infrastructure that’s in place for you? You know, everybody’s excited, myself included, but excitement does nothing. You know, you got to go out there and put in the work to actually enjoy what we have. Let’s get it. Let’s get it. Let’s get it. You know, competition, I think, exists at all levels of our roster. that’s going to bring out the best in all of our guys. What we’re looking for, it’s dependability, it’s consistency, it’s production on a day in and day out basis. And it’s going to be some hard work. He’s going to coach the guys hard. He’s going to be on them about the details. The coaches, man, we’re going to be here every step of the way. And we got your backs. Believe it. We do everything we’re going to do is for the team to help us win. When you set the standard, the standard is standard and it’ll be evident on the guys who all in on the culture and what we going to do, what we building. And by the time we get to that first game, any guys that going to have that Chicago Bear, they’re going to be definitely earned. Everybody’s bought in, excited that it’s going to be a very intense, competitive, physical training camp. We talk about how competitive this division is, the black and blue division, NFC North. So, we’re excited to get everything kicked off. I believe in the story behind the story. And this young man right here, Kendrick Lamar, performed at halftime of our last Super Bowl. It was the most watched halftime show in the history of the National Football League. Set records. This young man here that we know by mustard, the Jean Isaiah McFarland is his real name. Over a sixmonth period, he sent Kendrick Lamar a song clip that he had written 450 times. 450 different opportunities that he had written. Finally, he sent one and Kendrick texted right back and said, “We got one.” Why is that important? Is I’m telling you, there’s something special about this organization. Coach Johnson, his staff, Ryan Poles, all of you in here, we got one. But the key to it in life is so many people are maybe one clip away from that opportunity to have not like us. They stop at 449. So please be relentless, be fearless, work hard, be disciplined, be transformative, keep believing, keep pushing, and never forget. You never know when that next little extra effort is what’s going to allow us to tip it over the top. God bless you all. Let’s go get it. With Dennis Allen at the helm of the defense, intensity isn’t optional. It’s the standard. What up, Cook? What’s up? Good to have you back. What up, fellas? I’m outstanding. Why wouldn’t I? Huh? We get to do this. Ain’t nobody Ain’t nobody got to do it. We get to do it. We get out of stretch. We got Cook. Coach’s got 40 of them things today. All right, here we go, man. Everybody up. Everybody up. Defense, everybody up. Here we go, Cook. I’ll say feet. You get your feet moving. I’ll say down. You hit your belly. We’ll count them for you. All right. Got 40 of them. Here we go. All right. Here we go. Feet down. Down. Down. Down. down. Down, down, baby. We say you got to pay the toll. It’s like being in a fraternity in college. You got to go through rush week um and you got to go through some some tough things. And really, it’s about kind of bringing those guys together that they have something that they can bond with. You know, when we get guys that come in throughout the course of training camp or throughout the course of the season before they can be a part of the defense, they got to they got to go through the initiation and pay the toll. 40. Yeah, it’s always been 40. It’s just buy in. My first impressions of Coach Allen’s new scheme is it’s very aggressive, very attacking, very uh dominant. Run it again. Good. I’m here. I’m here. I’m here. Call him off. Get lined up fast. Find him coming out. Finish. Nickel. Come on. Jog it back now. Train yourself. Let’s go. See him coming out. Push yourself. Push yourself. There you go. He’s flying around making plays, being nasty, taking the football away. Um, you know, making plays all over the field. Definitely going to hold you accountable. Catch. Ah, buyer. Dennis Allen is very impressive from a standpoint of a defensive coordinator. Very complex. His scheme within itself brings out the best in a lot of players because of the confusion that it creates for the quarterback on the other end in his decision- making. If we can get him to freeze or to not want to throw the ball here and indecision on his checks and things like that, it allows us to make plays. He’s known for having top 10, top five defenses. So, that’s what we’re expecting for ourselves this year. We just got to take advantage of the opportunities. Get ready to play. Let’s make a play, bro. Bow bow. He’s stuck. I know, coach. I know. It’s just for me. That’s just to turn me up. Coach, I got you. I’m turning myself up, coach. We’re starting to see some of the physicality that we’re looking for. And that’s the hallmark of a great defense is great defenses play a physical brand of football. And I’m beginning to see that as we put the pads on. It’s real football right here. I’m running through it off the line today. on track. Call me a track. The intensity obviously when you combine Ben Johnson and DA, everybody’s getting pushed to compete every single day. And that’s just the message. Don’t apologize for competing. Let’s keep grinding, bro. T3. Fight one dude at a time. You can’t fight both of them. Beat the one in front of you. That’s it. That’s it. That’s it. Oh yeah. You was at Washington the whole time? Yeah. Yeah. Huh? Clemson. Yeah, bro. You probably went even No, I was there before that, bro. Hey. Yeah, facts. Facts. Facts, bro. No facts. That’s a fact. You already know. Keep balling, boy. Already. Javon Dexter, he’s disruptive in the run game. Something to deal with in the past game. He just continue to get better. You know what I’m saying? And this effort that he playing with lately, I mean, it’s been amazing. You can see him running all the way across the field. It’s just a young player continuing to get better. And he at that that year three mark when he can make a real big jump. and I’m definitely anticipating it for him and I’m going to do everything I can in my power, you know, to help him continue to be better. I couldn’t have a better running mate on the inside right now. So, I’m I’m super excited to be playing with him. Let’s go. Bring it up. Come on. Come on, man. Come on. Hey, bro. It’s going to set the tone for the whole camp, man. For the whole year, bro. Dominating on three. 1 2 3. We’re going to be a tough, nasty, violent defense. I want the guys to understand that it’s a privilege to play on this defense. [Music] It’s iron sharp as iron. These the dog days in training captain. That’s what make a man out of you and that’s ultimately what brings the team together. Good. That’s a nice job. It’s a nice job. This is water. Think of your daughter. Hot thing. [Music] as nasty as we going to dominate. That’s what we want. That’s what we want to be. That’s our identity. Nothing less. That’s what we pride ourselves on. You keep the violence, you keep the intensity, you keep the effort. We coach everything else. Like that. Everybody good? Hell yeah. Let’s go, man. Hey, appreciate y’all boys. Keep working, man. Break it down. Co, you turn this up already. Oh, here we go. Dominate on three. One, two, three. Dominate. Good job, man. Good work, man. Keep pressing. [Music] Family and football go hand in hand. And at Bears Family Fest, both were on full display. I saw his number two. He’s right there. Here they come. Daddy. Daddy. Daddy. There he is. He said, “Do a flail. Do a flare up. Look out, brother. Oh, it’s a lot of people. We learn that you want a little bit. I kind of do. You know, there go crazy. [Applause] Bomb. Get him. Bomb. Yes, Minnie. Yes, that L. Come on. Hey, let’s go. Let’s go. Yo, let’s go. Get right up here. Sergeant Field, man. Daddy, what’s up? [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Tradition runs deep in Chicago. And for the Bears rookies, that means paying their dues both on and off the field. I don’t know the tradition [Applause] I’m going let you hear without you know I chose Let Me Love You because that was just a song I’ve been listening to for forever and it was something I actually knew and I know I could sing without an instrumental if I had to or you know whatever the case may be. I felt confident um and yeah went up there and I think it was a decent performance. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Baby, I just don’t get it. You enjoy being hurt. I know you smell the perfume. Okay. The makeup on his shirt. You don’t believe his stories. You know that [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you every night. [Applause] Colston Lovelin didn’t miss a beat in his performance and Declan Doyle brings that same attention to detail to every snap on offense. Let’s go, Swifty. Big day. Let’s go. What’s up, bro? How are you? What’s up, boys? Go to work today. Let’s go. I’m very excited to be kicking off the first training camp with the Bears. Our guys are working really hard installing the offense and starting to master some of these little minute details of of what we’re getting done. You know, our guys are working at it and we’re excited about where we’re going. In and out. Let’s go. Break the huddle and go. Hey. Hey. This is full speed tempo to the ball. Okay. Full speed tempo to the ball. Reloading. In the huddle. In the huddle. In the huddle. In the huddle. Our overall mindset for training camp is that everything matters. We’re installing with our guys and trying to make sure that we leave no detail unturned. We’re setting the tone by making sure that we uphold that standard every day. Play call. You’re going to spit it to them. Pick who you’re going to tell them and we’ll roll. Okay. Trying to get as many reps as we can in 8 minutes. Okay. Q’s get a ball. My relationship with Caleb so far has been great. The chemistry aspect has been really important since we got here. Spending time with him. give me seeing how he sees the game and making sure that we’re all on the same page in order to ensure that he’s able to grow. He is so much more comfortable right now. We go from gun to under to the tight ends are moving, the receivers are moving. We’re adding a few more every single day. He’s doing the work behind the scenes that no one else is seeing. Let’s go. Oh yeah, baby. Let’s go. Today is that day. It’s the first day for the rest of our lives. How nice is this? Jeez. You make me better. You make me better. Ben and Deaclyn so far have been great. uh to get to learn from and and their system has been a lot of fun to learn and and be able to go execute out on the football field. Their main focus is on the physicality within the offense and I think that plays well and to my style of game as a tight end and a do things in the run game and then off of those things in the pass game as well. So you can be really dynamic in the things that you do in both the run and pass. Our percentage was pretty good there, huh? That was good percentage there. Yeah. Five. Dang it. Sweating. They are absolutely nuts. Very detailed, honest, super intense, aggressive, and crushing us every single day. Making sure that we know what our job is. Young guys kind of call it aura. He breathes competition. You could just tell just the intensity. And I think that type of energy raises the level of everybody in the team. You know, you’re only as strong as your weakest link. So that’s what we’re trying to preach every single person in the building. We’re just trying to get 1% better every day. What’s hard about it is that you really got to be in your playbook and know every last detail of that playbook. If not, you going to get the evil eye or you just going to get yelled at to get in the right spot. So I try to stay away from 11. Hey, the offense, you know, it does literally everything in the playbook, you know, from run game to pass game, have you out wide, have you in the back field and tight in line. A lot is required of you and a lot is asked of you on a daily basis. So for me, it’s kind of getting back into the normal way that I think that things should go. I feel comfortable with what we’ve put in. Ben’s offense isn’t just something that you’re going to completely and totally be encompassed in full understanding of year one. You know, it’s something that kind of takes a little bit of evolving to to get there. From what they’ve given us, you know, has been in the installs and the knowledge that they’ve given us. I feel like I’ve retained it very well. I can go out there and have success within it. Yo, let’s go today. Oh, you miked up. [Laughter] What’s going on, coach? Hey, I’m miked up, baby. Just to let y’all know. I’m miked up, bro. Say hi to both. Take a shower yet? Yeah. He has worn the same clothes for the past week and a half. Crazy. People one of these earlier teach I ain’t telling nobody. It’s better when we don’t tell people, right? Nope. No, it’s not. It’s not better. Already. Let’s get a Let me get a fist bump. Let me get a fist bump from the big boy. Oh, yeah. I want a fist bump from All right. So, let’s win the day. Short a day ain’t as long. Tomorrow’s gonna be different. But today, man, focus on it. Let’s get it done. All right. Yeah, baby. Win it on three. One, two, three. Win. Fine. Get Oh, yeah. Give him a pump. pushing that. You were in his body. You were grabbing him. He pushed. You just said he pushed and you had his jersey. He had my jersey. You heard him. [Music] Hey, he jumped me. That’s fair. I’m over here. Hey, push for push. Push for push. I ain’t seen it though. That’s the thing. You got the You caught me though. I ain’t going to lie. You caught me for sure. Oh, love with the touchdown. Yeah, baby. I like it like that. But I believe it when I tell you I like it like that. Give money on me. Get money on three. 1 2 3. Get money. You want to race? You got it. You got it. You got it. Yep. Good race. Good race. Good race. [Music] With each practice, the team has been making strides. Come on, y’all. Woo! Come on. Dig deep. Dig deep. Let’s go. Now with roster spots on the line, it’s time to put that progress to the test. Next time on 1920 Football Drive. [Music]

  1. I agree with Nick but Brou is right also. If Josh or Lamar beats Mahomes a couple times in the playoffs and make the Super Bowl a couple times then maybe you can argue they are better than Mahomes. Burrow too if he beats him again but until Mahomes still the best he literally owns them 😂

  2. Last year’s Hard Knocks felt too polished, too “G Rated”. This team feels a little grittier. We’re building up our swagger, our MOJO, let’s go! 🐻⬇️🏈

  3. Shoutout the 1920 Football Drive film crew… Idk if you all learned extra production things from Hard Knocks last season… but this season of 1920 is a whole new level, and much better than HK now.
