Royals Demote Falter to the Bullpen After 2 Starts

  1. Hate to see that for him. On another side note Adam Frazier has been hitting over .300 since returning to the Royals.

  2. I hated the trade when it happened, but I didn’t realize how bad Falter had been this year with the Pirates and how much of his success was held up by a hot month. Here is how his game split was for the Pirates this year:

    * March/April: 5.93 ERA and 4.79 FIP in 6 games
    * May: 0.76 ERA and 3.60 FIP in 6 games
    * June: 5.14 ERA and 5.35 FIP in 5 games
    * July: 4.10 ERA and 6.49 FIP in 5 games

    I actually understand the “he was a non-tender candidate” claim after doing a deeper dive on his numbers. He’s been bad to atrocious outside of that ungodly May he had.

  3. LOLOL wheres the two dumbass from the high ERA thread saying they miss Falter, or all the whiney babies sad we traded him.

  4. Tempted to bring up the quotes I had about how terrible his underlying numbers were.

    He was extremely lucky and due for a regression. It would’ve been great to swindle a team but at the end of the day they have the same (and better) data than we do so I think everyone knew the truth.

  5. It seemed like even when he pitched well and his pitch count was low, the bullpen was getting ready for him during the 5th inning. Even by today’s standards that’s ridiculous for a starter. But man he sure got results at times. I suppose if he was a non tender candidate here, he’ll surely be one in KC too and maybe both sides would have interest in reuniting to fill out the rotation next year. I wouldn’t mind Falter as a 5th starter or swingman at all.
