PCA says he doesn’t have any worries about the Cubs’ 2nd half slump. Thoughts?

  1. I mean playing worried isn’t really going to help. They can be better than this and need to get out of their heads

  2. Even if they were playing as well as the 1st half they would still be losing the division. The brewers are just unnatural at this point. They won again today after being down 8-1 for the 13th straight time. Ridiculous. Historical.

  3. What do you want him to say? “Everything’s gone to shit, there’s not hope, trade everyone especially me.”

  4. He’s 23, and he’s one of the only spark plugs on a team of very muted, impersonal guys who are all older than him.

He probably has a lot of feelings about it but his personal slump and his standing in the team mean he can’t say shit.

  5. The Cubs and Dodgers are both slumping offensively right now. LA’s bullpen is a mess having blown 8 saves since July 4th contributing to their fall out of 1st place

  6. He’s one of the younger guys on the team. No way he’d bad mouth the team or call out other guys publicly.

  7. It’s fine hearing him say that. There are *other* people I certainly wouldn’t want to hear that from.

  8. I mean he’s not wrong. It’s just the Brewers are on such an insane run it makes it look much worse than it is.

  9. It’s time to bring in a petting zoo and shake up the energy around here.

  10. Some of these guys need to go to the bar, have a couple of drinks, and find themselves some slumpbusters.

  11. I mean, ultimately what is there to worry about? This season might very well shot and no amount of hand wringing will change that. Just swing through it and keep working.

  12. this team is done.

they haven’t had a sense of urgency all season and it’s showing clear as day. when the brewers were catching up in the division happ insisted that the guys weren’t worried and there wasn’t panic in the clubhouse 🤦‍♂️

  13. I seriously think i jinxed the Cubs. I’m a life long Cubs fan. I visited Chicago with my family 20 – 28 of August, went to two games: one at Wrigley against the Royals and one against the White Sox at Rate Field and got massacred at both games. To top it off, a child hood hero of mine, Ryne Sanberg, also passed. It was a beautiful vacation and beautiful days at each park, but damn. Rest well my brotha – I’ll continue to show my son videos of your game!

I’m going to the game on the 27th against the Giants and I’m damn nervous. That being said, this slump can’t last forever. There is PLENTY off time to turn this around and it could be one for the ages! We’ll all be back on the wagon.

  14. Dude has to worry about staying on second base instead of sliding over it, overrated bum
