Final 3 Outs: Brewers secure their 13TH STRAIGHT WIN!

Top of the order for the Reds. Fredel Steer Ellie Dela Cruz the Giant 50 lbs horse across the strike and it’s 0 and one. It’s amazing. I mean they they lose Josh hater. No problem. They got Deon Williams. Lose Devin Williams, no problem. Bereavement, right? Fraternity, they put up 10 runs. Next man up mentality and an organization that prides it [Applause] 0 and2 to Freedom. and he fights it off. Reds need a base runner. As you pointed out, this is a ballpark where one swing can change things. You see that the best closers on the season two the battle here. Knocks it foul. He’s got his work cut out for him. Top of the order. I know they haven’t done anything for a while now, but a guy at the top that sets the tone for him. That’s an understatement. 20 straight have been retired straight by this Brewer Bullpen. Swing and a miss. That’s a strike out and a throw him out. And the Brewers have the since 2018, I told you, six postseason appearances. And the year they didn’t go to the postseason, I think they won like 86 games. 7644 on one of five. One of five not to win a World Series. Could this be the year? There’s a strike to steer. As we’ve noted, they’re still not the favorites for a lot of people, writers, betting organizations. They still think they’re teams with better odds to win the World Series. But if you’d watch this team like we have over the last two weeks, the games up in Milwaukee are just an absolute mosh pit of hits, great pitching. BR and beer. Going in that place and winning can be really difficult. They get behind their team. They’re tailgating all day before the game and and these guys environment. Some of these guys are not household names. But you know what? They are rock stars in Milwaukee. Oh, sure. They are rock stars and they should be Miguel. Ready? Here’s the one-two. Good take. Trevor McGill can’t get in the chase, so I bring it just back in. Pinpoint accuracy with that breaking ball right down away. Toughest pitch to hit in baseball [Applause] by this bullpen. Dela Cruz two-run double. The Brewers chance getting louder. And they cruise down the first baseline. Ball is there. Flips. Got him at first. 13 in a row for the Brewers. Tying the franchise record. The best team in baseball shows it tonight. They come from behind. Down 8-1. Andrew Vaughn with a three-run homer. Christian Yelich with two homers and four hits. And the bullpen saves the day, retiring 23 straight to end. [Applause] Amazing. What a performance by the by that offense. You know, you look at good teams and obviously the best team in baseball right now, the Milwaukee Brewers. You can’t give teams like that a second chance. Three errors for the Reds tonight. Couple double plays that should have been turned. A ball just out of reach down the left field line and they take advantage of it. You keep giving them second chances, you’re going to pay. Credit to this Brewers offense for not giving up a really good game tonight and that bullpen was unbelievable. Chris Gell an absolute study told us is that quiet leader that keeps us all together. Man, it was 81. The Reds were rolling. This place was bouncing down to Heidi Wattney with Christian Yelich. Heidi Christian Yelich 13 straight wins. What do you think is behind this magical run? taking it dayto day and you know we compete really hard every night and we don’t care what the score is. We’re going to we’re going to play all nine and uh it’s a big credit to the guys. Yeah. Down eight to one. Comebacks are nothing new for this squad. What makes you guys such a resilient bunch? Um you know we just saying that let’s chip away, you know, let’s make this thing interesting. We’ve got seven, eight innings left to play. Like you know, let’s make it interesting. Let’s make this thing close. Let’s get it within a swing. And we don’t need to get it all back here in this one inning. like you let’s just make this thing interesting and we’re going to play to the whistle. So, uh that’s exactly what we did. You made it interesting with your bat, specifically the Bob Uker bat that you had made for players weekend last year. Two home runs tonight. [Applause] How are they going to do you like that with ice and water bottles in there? I know, right? Well, we had to dodge most of it, but um you know, using the uke bat, I didn’t know if I was going to use it or not. And then, uh Shaw, our equipment manager, like, “Dude, you got to do it at least one time.” Hit a homer with it. We both got a good little laugh about like, man, he would have thought that was pretty awesome. But then he would have probably liked the jam shot double better. Uh just cuz that was uke. But uh you know, go figure. You know, that guy’s that guy’s always up for uh for a good time and and a good joke. So, uh, of course that happened when when you’re using his bad and, uh, it’s just a great win for us. You know, we just battled and we got contributions from so many people and, uh, that’s what our team is about, just just that fight and fighting and, um, we have a big belief in that room that we’re always going to be in the game and, uh, really really proud of the guys tonight. There might be some Uker magic in that bat. You might have to stick with it all weekend. You know, you were triple shy of the cycle and you have three cycles against the Reds. Do you know that? Yeah, everyone was giving me a hard time about it in the dugout. Um they were pretty sure, you know, like they were just all waiting for it, but that’s so hard to do. You got to get lucky. You know, I got to hit the ball to the right part of the park and um they were all definitely definitely aware of that. How about the job from the bullpen tonight? I know Miz is the headline grabber and usually so great for you guys, but 23 straight retired by your bullpen. Yeah, I they did a great job, you know, just passing the baton and you know, those guys have have been huge for us all year and uh they they step up. You know, guys are put in a situation. DL, you know, he had to battle through some innings, but uh we got him some runs there. Everybody was just telling him, “Go throw a zero for us. We’re going to win this thing.” And uh that’s exactly what he did, and we just continued to battle all night. It’s August 15th. You guys are undefeated this month. Are you unstoppable? No, we don’t care about that. We haven’t we haven’t accomplished a single thing yet. We, you know, we haven’t won anything. We We’re just one day at a time. It it doesn’t matter what we’ve done. Uh we still have a long way to go. There’s a lot of games left in this season and uh we’re just taking it day by day. So, you know, we don’t care about all that other stuff that happened before. Uh, we’re just about about tonight and playing as hard as we can. Bigger goals. Thank you, Christian. You got it. Thanks. Back to you guys. Thank you, Heidi. Terrific job tonight down there.
