Rangers vs. Blue Jays Game Highlights (8/16/25) | MLB Highlights

One of the best stories for the Blue Jays this season and what he has done stepping into the starting rotation, he’s got a 282 earned run average, a bouncer to third in comes clement to back it and make the throw. There’s a fastball right at the top of the zone as Lauer gets W Langford for out number two, the one thing about eric Lauer, you know, he’s not going to line up the red but he pitches very aggressively and he hits that hard out to left field and tough play out there for Snider. He was caught in between and that one knocked down and he doesn’t get a good read but he recovers and Then just misses it. Outside ball. Four, missed off the plate with a slider and that’s a walk to make it 1st and 2nd 2 outs in the air to right center. Lots of room for Dalton. And that is out. Number three, Lauer gets out of it and they faced Patrick Corbin today. He’s making his 23rd start of the year 6 to 8 record four flat , er, a 260 batting average against Welcome back, George Springer just back off the concussion. I missed 16 games and that is strike three calls springer down looking and Corbin gets his day started right, pay off on the way and that one is up. The middle Durant will take it to the back at the out the first double play and I’m not sure what happened to Guerrero. He may have slipped coming out of the box or something. Hika launched his eighth home run of the season yesterday, a three run shot hit on a line looping and caught on the backhand side short by bot awkward sound off the bat for Hika one fly ball left field Schneider on the track makes the catch for the second out and a little bit further than expected contact off the bat looked like a routine fly ball but it kept carrying, took him all the way to the warning track in left field. Durant swings and hammers went down the left field line. It took him towards the pole. That ball is fair and it bounces off the wall to Schneider. So Ezekiel Durant who had a really nice home stand with his first at bat here on this road trip delivers a two out double three, one hit on a line caught by Jimenez positioned up the middle to take a hit away and keep it scoreless middle of the second. And now Bocet who factored in yesterday in the big four run rally finds this one to left and a drop for a base hit. That’s another step toward 200 hits for the season. As Harshaw hits it hard, left center field, it’s down for a base hit the shed around second on his way to third and in there and the Blue Jays have runners on the corners with one out, Ernie Clement with a chance to give the Blue Jays the lead here early this afternoon and he lines this one to left field for a base hit and Moore the is on his way in. Our show is going to be held at third. It’s an double for Clement and it’s one to Blue Jays. That’s his fourth hit in five at bats against Patrick Corbin and he makes the most of it drives in the first run of this ball game to give the Blue Jays the lead. It looks like a cutter that didn’t cut. And that’s what happens to those cutters when they spin out over the plate. And at a minimum you want to cash in. Marshall got a deep left out Miles straw with a three run homer and it is 4 to 0 Blue Jays time and time again. The bottom of this Blue Jays lineup comes through with big at bats third homer of the season for Miles as Jimenez rolls one to the right side and that’s going to skip beyond Durant into right base hit 1 to 1 pitch. Schneider lines it up the middle into left center, up to second base goes andres Jimenez Da Schneider 2 to 2 and they are two on with two out and it’s inside ball four and that’s going to load them up for Bo. This has been a long, tough inning for Patrick in right center field of the glove. Two runs are home. Here comes Guerrero and he’s safe seven to Langford goes off his glove. Everybody is running on the full count but watch the slide by guerrero. He’s going to reach to the back side of the paint with his right hand. That’s going to be difficult. Texas is going to review that. Of course, it’s a great effort. Is it enough to keep this call at safe? The Rangers have challenged the field is overturned. Runner out. Texas retains a two run. Rangers now have had a runner in scoring position in all of the first three innings. They stranded all three base runners so far one to two pitch and that’s lined into right field. A base hit. Haggerty got a good start. They’ll wave him. Haggerty scores on the berger opposite field hit and the Rangers get a run right back and that one is up the middle, that’s a base hit. Berger turns second but he’ll hold. Rangers have a couple of two out runners again. You got to pitch ahead in this situation, got a five run lead and your strength is throwing strikes, fly ball left field, Schneider over towards the corner has room to make the catch and that will do it for the top of the third inning. But this is the guy who delivered the big hit last inning miles strong with that three run homer of a stunning moment. Strauss hit another one to deep left field. His second. What a day for Myles Straw, two homers and five RBIs already in this one on his team feels like they’re a regular. They all feel like they’re going to have a moment every day to do something special after stranding five runners in the first three innings. Lauer has retired five in a row , saddle hard out to right field down the line and that one is off the fence and in play and Langford slides into second with a double, that’s a one out double in the fifth hit off the end of the bat. A fly ball left center field Schneider into the gap makes a one handed catch keeps Langford at second two down line to left and a dive by David Schneider. He made one of those a couple of days ago, going back, had an error on him in the first today. So, you know, he feels good about that. He just saved his pitcher a run here is Staton via one for one, a single pitch roped out to right field deep headed to the wall. See you later, a two run homer and the Blue Jays have put up 10 in this game. They lead 10 to 1 in the bottom of the fifth. This offense has just been relentless, especially with the addition of Dalton Varsha who’s swinging the bat. Well, basically a flick of the wrist there from Varsha on a fastball on the outer third. He got around it for his 13th homer of the year chops this one to third and he’ll beat it up infield hit and it will load the bases. Maybe not what he dreamed of when he thought about his return as his first hit back, but he’s enjoying it nonetheless. He will take it, that’s for sure. Hustling out of the box just chops it to third, comes across from his position, but can’t make the play ball four and that will force in a run to make it 11 to 1. Bruce Bochy’s not having a giggle. This is no fun at all for one of the most highly respected people in the game. Here’s one high in the air to left off the bat of davis Schneider. It’s gone three run home run for Schneider as the Blue Jays are piling on here against the Rangers Peterson. He does move Langford to second , get him on, get him over, get him in. The Rangers are going to score on a position player pitching and they’re going to do it a base hit into left center. It gets Langford to the plate 14 to two grounded to third. And that is the ball game, the Blue Jays with a win much different than last night’s game.

  1. Oh my. We lost. What a surprise. Well fiddle tee dee! This is totally fine. I'm not going to swear, because you would need some kind of emotion in order to do such things. Phil Maton and Joc Pederson are obviously double agents for Houston. Oh well, At least the Cowboys are gonna…..well actually, at least we got Cooper Flagg to look forward to. Rangersforever❤
