Top MLB Plays of 8/16! (Davis Schneider’s TERRIFIC grab, Trevor Story’s STELLAR throw MORE!)

And he rips one to right. Here comes Marcy. He dives and he made the catch. Jacob Marcy a fullfledged dive to his backhand. Took him onto the warning track near Pesky’s pole and he made the grab to take extra bases away from Willier Abrau. Great play from Marcy. So 1-1 to Crawford. The pitch lifted in the air. Shallow center. Lindor out. Mullins charging in. Lindor makes the over the shoulder catch. Tremendous play by Lindor with his back to the plate. That is just a heck of a play. That’s not easy. You got to negotiate a center fielder coming in. That’s an all-star play. For the league lead and he takes a breaking ball into center field. Well struck. Back on it is Scott all the way to the track and he makes the catch. You really don’t think about him having that kind of power. He’s more of a speed batter, but you know that the center fielder has some speed and Victor Scott and that can be a tough one. Hit right at you, but he went straight back to the wall. I didn’t think he was going to catch that. That’s two great plays that he has made in two nights. Victor Scott the second that we hadn’t seen. That was some play. Ground ball backhanded by Mlan out at second. Batty the first for a double play. How did he do that? Nolan the magician. Mlan, the Harlem Globe Trotters or something. Deliver the pitch, turned around, caught it behind his back, Fed Batty, who threw to Alonzo to get out of bases loaded in the third. And he can’t help cracking a smile. That’s a big time moment there for Nolan Mlan. And the 2-1 hit to the hole. Story throwing and got him. Outstanding effort by Trevor Story. My goodness. Derek Story at shortstop. That was the classic patented Jeter jump throw. He doesn’t even think twice about it. Soon as this ball’s hit, he knows he’s going to the jump throw. Hits the webbing. One step jump throw on the money. My goodness. Set this place on fire. Trevor Story tie in the 3-1 win. Thomas drives this to center with some carry. Doyle onto the track, leaps, and makes the catch with the wall. The twotime gold glover out there, Brentton Doyle. What a catch. That one might have gone out had he not timed that late perfectly. Tracks it all the way back and makes a leaping catch, taking away extra bases. Ground ball to short. Ortiz diving staff gets up, throws a first. Got him. God, unbelievable play by Joey Ortiz. A full dive to his left, to his feet, a spin, and an absolute dart to first. Do not take him for granted, Brewers fans. Nobody’s playing that position like Joey is right now. Line to left and a diving catch by Davis Schneider. Davis Schneider with a big play out in left to take a hit away. Well, he made one of those a couple of days ago going back. He just saved his pitcher a run. Schneider coming in to make a nice diving play. And it’s still 81 Blue Jays.
