The Rockets seem like they want to lean into double bigs, which is definitely a very cool identity to have. Sengun can also easily man the middle on his own, as shown for much of last season. But it will be cool to see how Amen Thompson "five-out" lineups perform next season with KD in the mix.
Do folks have thoughts on when that sort of lineup might be most effective? Maybe a Timberwolves matchup? Where the Rockets don't have quite their usual rebounding/Sengun postup advantage against Gobert, so they run him off the floor with spacing instead?

Yes yes yes!
WINGS AND WINGS AND MORE WINGS
It’s kind of funny that our small ball five out still has two 6’11” players. That lineup could be deadly, especially if Sengun and Adams are exhausted/resting back to backs etc
This account again? I think this is a bot. All it’s ever posted is stuff from this random website no one has ever heard of. This makes SI articles look competent lol
at this point it’s leveled up to Triple Bigs or Quatro Grande
but yea excited for so much more as well. small ball, infinite defense switches, growth from all young guns 🥂
Not really. The dumbest thing the Rockets could do is play KD against a bigger team. If Jabari and DFS can manage Rudy and Randle, OK…but they are giving up 70 pounds, and lots of length. Naz Reid is even heavier than Gobert.
Me as well, this lineup could be so funny and satisfying to watch
Yes
5 out lineups with switch everything on defense will be nasty
Sengun is going to get traded for Embid.
