  1. Dear lord baby Jesus, please let this be the end of our offense looking completely lackluster. Amen.

  2. Playing like a wild card team. That’s fine, but they were playing like a division champion in the first half of the season.

  3. A win. A series win.

Completely egregious for Counsell to pinch hit Shaw in that situation. Tucker looks lethargic and disinterested. Dansby can maybe hit with RISP?

  4. I know it’s just one series and just the pirates, but this one felt really important. Let’s finish the season strong!

  5. The whole league is talking about these Cardiac Cubs. Two comebacks in a row.

    Wins since August 16th:

    – Cubs 2
    – Brewers 1

  6. Nice W. I loved the moment in the dugout between Matt Shaw and Justin Turner. That’s what leaders do

  7. Today’s the first day that the Cubs have picked up a game on the Brewers since July 30th, when they beat them to end their series.

  8. I, for one, propose we install big-ass fans on top of the stadium blowing outwards to offset days like today where multiple would-be homers stayed in play. And damn they needed that series win badly, now to start a Brewers losing streak.

  9. I’m an optimist, I rarely complain about manager decisions or people slumping etc… In fact I’m usually the one defending them.

I’m going to question why Shaw was taken out to get one at bat for Cassie there. This has been a reoccurring theme post asb. It seems like CC is looking for any reason to sit Shaw.

I really hope someone in the media asks him that question and doesn’t take “we want to get cassie some ABs” as an answer. That is not a good enough answer.

That was a very important inning. Why are you showing no confidence in the player that has been the most consistent batter post ASB?

  10. Sure looks like acquiring Kittridge was a deft move. Two 1 run leads and 2 saves with Palencia unavailable.

  11. Two in a row, one more and we have a winning streak fellas.

Shoutout Dansby for getting the job done.

  12. At least PCA’s bat seems to have come alive with another two hits today. At this time of year, a win is a win; I’ll take it however it comes.

  13. Happy to get a series win, even if it felt like it shouldn’t have been so difficult.

Crazy to think that the Brewers’ loss today was their first loss since the finale against the Cubs to close out July. Since then, the Cubs have lost three series. The lunatic in me who knows how random baseball can be can just as easily see the Brewers sweeping the series as I can see the Cubs actually winning the series.

  14. I don’t know whether this series had great pitching or both offenses are just dog shit, but it was really competitive nonetheless.

  15. One team has a winning streak going into the game tomorrow and it ain’t Milwaukee!

  16. Looks like PCA is starting to come around. Tucker and Suzuki look like they forgot how to play baseball.

  17. Teams hot at the right time and brewers just lost. Big time swing heading into a crucial 5 game set!!

  18. It’s weird but this slump caused me to have a mental health breakthrough.

I’ve always been a doomscroller but seeing the internet make the same sort of posts about sports as it does to important news and watching myself respond the same way has been eye opening. I never really watched any sports before this season so all of this behavior is new to me. It’s much easier to accept all this as just talk when it isn’t some big world event.

So thank you, and also touch grass.
