Mariners OF Victor Robles, in a rehab assignment at Tacoma, gets hit by a pitch and responds by throwing his bat towards the mound. He then advances towards the pitcher before being stopped by the umpire and teammates. He was obviously ejected

  1. This needs more context. Robles has been bean ball practice by this team all weekend and had to come out of a game earlier this weekend after being hit as well. While I dont condone his actions, thats why Robles lost his cool.

  2. Third time Robles has been HBP from the same pitcher. Understandable he’s upset.

Still not right to throw his bat. Instead, get revenge the old fashioned way:

Grind up his parents into a large vat of chili and then trick him into eating his own parents in front of all of his friends.

  3. He hit himself then rages on the pitcher…

  4. 3rd time he’s been hit by that pitcher in the last year. That pitcher deserves a bat throw.

  5. If that’s not a suspension for the rest of the season, MLB’s punishment system is messed up.

  6. Rehab assignment is worth crashing out like this alone… add that it’s a dude who has hit you multiple times this season….like Robles is playing in that game so something like this doesn’t happen. The dude wants to be ready to play playoff baseball not get hit by some dude nit good enough to be up in the big leagues still.

  7. turnabout is fair play. pitchers throwing those rocks to the head is no joke. The league probably will come down hard on the batter if that trend ever takes off but I would entertain going to court. F the unwritten rules. This is one of the trashiest parts of baseball.

  8. Did the bat go anywhere near the pitcher? Throwing a bat and throwing a bat at a pitcher are slightly different things

  9. Nothing says locked in and ready to play baseball like getting a suspension while on a rehab assignment.

  10. I’ve honestly wondered why this doesn’t happen more. I feel like it might be my first reaction too if I felt a HBP was intentional, to sling a helicopter out there.

  11. Rather than charging the pitcher, punch the catcher…at least you get some satisfaction than running to mound

  12. Definitely had to respond 3X being thrown at! But ya, next time charge the mound the old fashioned way.

  13. Put yourself in Robles’s shoes here – guys trying to come back from a really bad injury, his mother just passed, and he’s been hit four times in as many games on his rehab assignment. All of the sudden, this guy who literally has hit you 75% of the time, beans you again, this one near the head. Not saying he should’ve thrown the bat, but jesus
