Orioles vs. Astros Game Highlights (8/17/25) | MLB Highlights
Parker today, the Houston Astros wrap up a three game series with the Baltimore Orioles is the conclusion of a six game home stand for the Astros and it’s the rubber game of this series after the Astros picked up a 5 to 4 win in 12 innings over Baltimore yesterday. This is a crazy, crazy weekend for the Birds in the day. Makes his big league debut. Christian javier, you see the numbers he has been able to put together in his career in those three starts in six appearances against the Baltimore Orioles. A sub two, a and whipped under one also 31 strikeouts in those games as well. And holiday lifts it to right center to his right. Sanchez makes the catch so one out nobody on for Jordan Westberg, 21 pitch to left field going back there to make the play Taylor Trammell there two away on the ground. Altuve is there and a 10 pitch. First inning for christian javier Astros coming about Dean Kramer coming off the second longest start of his career eight innings, a one run baseball last time against the Seattle Mariners where he was stellar. He’s made more appearances and starts than anybody in the Orioles rotation. The 11 chopper out to third base dropping back as Westbrook fields belt high on to first and Pena is out one away for carlos ground ball up the middle base hit in the center field, picked on a cutter at the knees and Carlos Correa has the first hit of the ball game that brings up Jose Altuve and he has great numbers against Kramer seven for 14 with a home run and three doubles. One. Oh, he hits way up into the rafters near shortstop anderson , looking up towards the roof, makes the catch to the back of the dirt. Second out here of the bottom of the first sanchez swings and misses five straight splitters for Kremer to end the first inning. We’ll see a Colton and Samuel be back in the second two outs here in the second inning and here comes the first major league at bat for Samuel and he got hit. Welcome to the big leagues Samuel. Be a rude welcome at that as he takes a fastball up and in. So that is one way to reach base in your first big league plate appearance. The two and mayo lifts this one shallow right side. Altuve along the back rim of the infield dirt makes the catch after going to his left to retire the side. Diaz serving as the designated hitter. He will do that on days where he does not catch he’s got big time pop ground ball up the third base line backhanded by Westberg throw to first just in time. We’ll see if the Astros challenge and the Astros are going to challenge. What’s your call? I think he got there. He’s there by the Diaz at third and Kramer will try and retire Melton and keep this game scoreless. 1 to 2 that is hit on a line out to shortstop. Nabbed by Henderson from shallow left throws to first. They got him. Gunner Henderson with a nifty play on a backhand in a shallow left. He dropped back a step did a little twirl squared himself up through to first Melton is out and the Orioles do not allow a run in the bottom of the second. Houston Westbrook at the third straight single by the Orioles and they’re loaded up and now the best hitter in baseball right now with runners in scoring position to the plate. It’s gunner Henderson, here’s the pitch curveball, poke to right and hit well back on it. Sanchez on to the warning track and he leaves and he makes the catch. He robbed a homer going to be a sacrifice fly. Orioles take the lead but it’s a home run robbing grab by Sanchez in right field and there’s two away at the apex of his jump. His elbow was at the height of the yellow line crowd got a good look at it clearly over that wall maybe by about 4 ft. That’s how high Sanchez jumped for it. This one to center field, Jacob Melton is there that will retire the side. Orioles get a run on a sacrifice fly with the play of the day coming from Jesus Sanchez one nothing Baltimore. This is concerning for Houston christian Javier out after three. So we just got word that christian Javier came out of the game due to an illness. So Dubin did not pitch in yesterday’s ballgame. The Astros needed a little bit of length from him. Samuel Bailo, the top 15 prospects in major league baseball. He’s making his major league debut and hit by a pitch. This could be two to second for one on to first in a double play. Just what Sean Dubin and the Astros needed a 563 double play and there’s two hours 1st and 3rd, nobody out. And now Jackson Holiday 11 pitch , smoke past the dive of the third baseman in the left. Here comes Beavers down to score. Dylan Beavers scores his first run in the major leagues on the opposite field. Single by his buddy Jackson. Holiday extends the lead to 20 with Jeremiah Jackson moving up to second base. Three straight singles from the Orioles here against Westberg has lined out to deep left and singled to right. He got a cutter on 3 to 1 driven to deep right center field and of the visiting bullpen which is about to be activated because Jordan Westburg has just knocked sean dan out of this game and blown the doors off the fifth, a three run home run Westberg 15th to jump into the team lead tie with Jackson Holiday and the Orioles lead by five in inning five. So 21, nobody out here comes Jordan Westberg again, the 22 ground ball towards the hole pass the diver pen and the left Jackson speeding around third coming down the line from up with the throw. It’s cut off. The run will score as JJ slides across the plate. Jordan, we got a three hit day. He’s driven home four and the Orioles have a six nothing lead. First pitch to Rutman is pulled and that is snag by the first basemanDub-n. Dub-n. He drops it but he gets it to or covering first base for the out. Rutman retired 31 on the ground out. He will pick up an RB I driving home his 28th of the year and he hits this one high in the air right field. That could be out of here. No, it’s robbed by sanchez. He does. That is no way to treat a debutant be was making a bid for his first hit in the major leagues. It would have been a goner instead it goes into the glove of Sanchez again and let’s not forget the fantastic work that we watched today by Dean Kremer scoreless inning streak. Now at 13 in a row, a career high in pitches and in whips for his career. And in fact, he gets whip number 20 on pitch. Number 17. The first time he’s ever thrown a 107th pitch in the big leagues. Two outs here in the seventh inning, the 22 pitching a line drive out to right field. Jackson breaks to his right, he’s there. He makes the catch to retire the Astros in the seventh inning and helped Dean Kramer spin the gym a three hit shutout through seven frames on a career day for Dean Kramer. More pitches than he’s ever thrown more whips than he’s ever generated. And he’s fired another zero through seven in the lone star state and the bases are loaded for Jordan Westberg already with a career high for RBIs 22 pitch. Little looper out to left charging on. Trammell goes into a slide. He can’t make the catch. Beaver stops at third. It is 80. Baltimore on the blue hit by Westberg 31st pitch of the inning from Williams ball, four bases loaded walk. I don’t think Gunner knows it. That ball four, I think it’s ball four go to first take your base. So Dylan Beavers will score a run on the cheap as everybody can advance nine Orioles ground ball base hit. There you go. A Rutman. The RB I single from Rutman means it’s now a 10 nothing ball games has a chance to take care of those first hit jitters to one pitch, that ball ripped to right center field. Samuel Basso’s first major league hit is a two run single. August the 17th of 2025 in Houston, the first of many for one of the game’s best young stars in the making. Now they’re two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Victor Caratini to shorten that ends a 12 nothing win for the Baltimore Orioles in Houston bucket for the Birds. Give the Orioles another series win against a great team from the A LS.

Thank you Orioles
Come on I need those rangers high lights…………………………
win the close games
get completely destroyed in the blowouts
Generous of the Astros to provide the Orioles with batting practice at their home⚾🎯
I was watching Fantasy Island reruns the other day. Thought I saw Altuve on the show 😂😂😂
The Orioles are a completely different team since they gotten their new manager
Im the kid in the green jacket when cheerleaders where the box off is at
As a Mariners fan, I very much approve of this game!
The Baltimore Orioles are 57-67⚫️🟠⚪️🐦⬛
If Orioles could go 24-14 in last 38 games, they would finish 81-81. That would be a step in the right direction.
Astros did nothing to fix that atrocious relievers/closers bullpen at the trading deadline and of course it's taking a toll on them. ort needed to be dfa a long time ago. sousa and dubin cannot step a foot on the mound without filling the bases and allowing 2-4 runs per outing both needede to be dfa as well. But nothing Is going to change…
Let's go O's!
My nephew is fitting in just fine with the O's
Debutante: an upper class woman making her first appearance in fashionable society…
Go Astros
Can we all just agree that the Shawn Dubin experiment failed? And that Dana Brown should have brought in several relievers at the deadline and failed? I mean the deals he made were improvements, but only because the team was so terrible.
If not for Houston outfielder Jesus Sanchez stealing both a grand slam and a 3 run homer during the course of the game, the final score would have been 18-0.
6 runs saved but it clearly didn't matter! Still was super cool to see 2 stolen home run catches in the outfield from Jesus. I can't remember the last time I've seen that in one game!
Dean the kream machine
Astros win close games, and then they get crushed by 10+ runs
Kudos to Sanchez two home run robberies
Thanks Orioles from Ms fan
Better find score some runs! This cobbled together lineup is gonna get eaten up by the Mariners!
Reminder this could have been 19-0
Astros really let the Orioles beat them badly twice at home wow think they'll be better off as a WC team don't you think lol?
