Doesn’t help that Ian Happ let 3 straight fastball in the heart of the zone go by without even swinging.
I hope my job gives me as many chances as Ben Brown has to disappoint them

The cubs brass see something in him, maybe his fastball, maybe that knuckle curve. It isn’t working. Hindsight is 20/20 but in a perfect world he should have been down on the farm somewhere learning a third pitch. But…..cubs farm seems thin on pitching. Killian? Thompson? Wicks? The cubs just plain and simple lack pitching depth, they’re lucky they’ve gotten as much as they have from their reclamation projects.
We were at the game and my wife started booing SO loudly. And, you know, rightfully so.
He ate up 2 2/3 innings today to save us burning potentially THREE relievers on an “easy” game. And he had a great attitude about it in the post-game interview.
Since Assad’s return, Ben Brown has a lower ERA and lower WHIP than Assad, counting today.
