In your opinion is, should they roll with the guy you have fallen in love with and open your heart to in Jackson Dart? Yeah, I think they should. And here’s the thing. Jackson Dart is the hope that all Giants fans want and he’s the guy that represents the best chance to save Brian Dall and Joe Shane’s job, right? Because the reality is that Russell Wilson is on the back nine. He got somearily dismissed from the Pittsburg Steelers. He got dismissed from the Denver Broncos. Prior to that, he has been relegated to bridge quarterback status. Russell Wilson is not the future of the New York Giants. If the New York Giants with the toughest schedule in the NFL plan on being competitive this year and playing meaningful football late in December, then it’s going to have to be with Jackson Dart starting the majority of the game. So I’m not saying that Jackson Dart needs to be the starter of week one, but I would be surprised if we get to the end of October and Jackson Dart isn’t the starting quarterback. He’s shown over the first two season games that it’s not too big for him. He can handle the offense. He can have a clean operation. You saw coming out of the half backto-b touchdown drives. He can do a throwing. He can do a running. You would like to see have see him have a little more gidey up when it comes to escaping the pocket, making the decisive move to Tuck it and run. But that will come as he continues to grow with his overall feel of the game. But all in all, the kid has got some juice. And it’s obvious that the players in the game with him at the same time respond to his overall energy. So if you’re the New York Giants, you love what you see, you don’t have to rush this thing. You can let him be fully baked, but just based on what I’ve seen from him already, I would say that Jackson Dart should be the starter for the New York Giants at some point in October, but not necessarily week one. No, it doesn’t feel like they’re going to make him the week one starter. I don’t think it would be too much for him to be the week one starter, but I just think that they want to give him every opportunity to be set up for success. And a lot of that is allowing the media, the fan base to see what the offense is with Russell Wilson before they see what the offense is with Jackson Dart because it’s always easier for the veteran to give way to the rookie than the other way around. Think about how clunky the situation was with the Carolina Panthers when they had to bench Bryce Young. You don’t want to be in that same situation with Jackson Dart. Quite frankly, if you’re Brian Deb, you don’t have that kind of time. No, you got this season and this season only to show ownership that this thing is headed in the right direction. And nothing could sabotage it more than playing Jackson Dart before he’s ready and before the fan base has an opportunity to level set expectations on what the offense is with a competent veteran quarterback. I keep looking at it trying to find a place where I think Jackson Dark can land throughout the season that maybe the team is looking at it and saying, “All right, by this game, by this week, if we haven’t seen what we need to see from Rus, this is when we deploy Jackson Dart. There’s not a soft place to land. No, which is why you could make the argument that maybe it is best to throw him in the deep end in week one. You know, and talking to them over the last couple weeks that they’re thrilled with him, not what you’re just seeing on the field, but in the classroom and all the intangibles. So Mike Ting week one, it’s a no brainer he said for them to start Jackson Dart. Listen, I I’m not opposed to it, but here’s what I will say. If he struggles which inevitably all rookie quarterbacks do at some point, well, let me say most rookie quarterbacks do cuz it didn’t feel like Jaden Daniel struggled at all last year. But most rookie quarterbacks struggle at some point during their first year. I would rather he struggle after the fan base gets a glimpse of what the offense could be with Russell Wilson and or James Winston as the quarterbacks, right? Because all of a sudden now, there’s an easier bar to clear for Jackson Dark because he’s a first round draft pick because he’s coming out of old miss. going to be the inevitable comparisons to Eli Manning, a two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback in, you know, soon to be mented as a Hall of Famer, hopefully class of 2026, but there are going to be those comparisons and and I and I don’t want people to be unrealistic about what Jackson Dart can do with this group of guys around him on the offensive side of the ball. What lowers that bar from Eli Manning status is the reality of what Russell Wilson or James Winston or Tommy Devito would be as the quarterback of this group. And that’s why I think a veteran quarterback should start the season so everybody can temper the expectations around what they what they what they want from Jackson Dark. Now, when he gets in, you want to see him make a tangible difference in terms of the overall energy, the production of the offense in the team as a whole. And so I always think that there is there is a benefit to those young quarterbacks being able to sit behind the veteran, watch how they prepare, watch how they practice, go into an actual game week where the wins and losses matter and that way they can have that data point as they get ready to get their NFL careers off to a start by actually playing in a regular season game. Yeah. When analyzing this, you kind of look through all the various paths you can take, best worst case scenario. And I truly think the worst case scenario would be you throw them out there week one and it’s not good. So why would you even want to take that chance if that’s if that’s the worst case scenario, why would you want to go that route? Why wouldn’t you go with thrust? That’s why you brought him in. It’s to stabilize that position a little bit. You brought him in. You brought James Winston in because you told us you don’t want to play Jackson Dart early. Correct. And based on your schedule, I understand why. You’re at the commanders, at the Cowboys, home against the Chiefs, home against the Chargers. That is absolutely brutal. Yeah. And then you have the Saints maybe a little bit of soft spot. Eagles, Broncos, Eagles, 49ers, bears. TC is griing. I don’t know if I’m going throw the bears in that, but I’m just saying like the Bears could be sneaking good. Eagles, Broncos, Eagles.
