I’m back covering Major League Baseball here on Wager Talk TV. It’s Monday morning. A beautiful day, but I got to say it’s been a tough week for the haters. We’ve cashed in six of our last seven free picks on this channel. And today we’re looking at the Toronto Blue Jays at the Pittsburgh Pirates. Looking to be a pitchers duel here in Pittsburgh. It’s a pick them and the total sits at seven. The Pirates come in as losers of seven of their last eight overall, but five of those seven losses came on the road. Pittsburgh has been pretty good at home this season, 34 and 29 at home. And the Jays are just 500 on the road, 31 and 31. Of course, the ace for the Pirates will pitch today. Paul Skins 7 and N with a 2.13 erra. Uh that’s first in Major League Baseball, the lowest ERA in all of the major leagues. And he’s got an 0.96 whip. He’s four and four with an even lower ERA at home, 1.70 ERA at home. Skins gets it done and he’s been very consistent even though he’s coming off a tough loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, but that was in Milwaukee and Milwaukee is the best team in baseball. Now, let’s look at those Blue Jays. Of course, they’re sitting in first place in the AL East. Five games up on the Red Sox and five and a half games up on the Yankees. And they send Kevin Gowsman to the mound today, 8-9 with a 3.79 erra and a 1.05 whip. So, uh, Gowman’s been dealing as well. He’s been pitching quite well, but the Blue Jays aren’t winning as many games as you’d like to think with numbers like that. Overall, a losing record of eight and nine. And you look at his road numbers, he’s four and five with a 3.48 erra on the road. Gaussman has been good, but he hasn’t been as good as Skins. Uh the Blue Jays better team overall, better bullpen, better lineup. Pirates though, better home record uh and skins significantly better than basically anybody else in Major League Baseball right now. And with the price at a pickum, I think this is a perfect setup for a five inning play on the Pirates just betting on skins to blank the Jays for the first five innings. Uh what can I say? It’s the obvious play, but sometimes the obvious play is the correct play.
