Michael Irvin on Dallas Cowboys Preseason Week 2 vs Ravens

Hey, what’s up locker room? I wanted to come on and kind of talk to you guys about the second preseason game. I know I said the first preseason game you basically throw that out the window, but the second becomes a little bit different. You know, things go about you’re kind of starting to find out little things by that second preseason game because at least everybody has had the first and they’re kind of getting in a little bit of football shape. And and what I saw yesterday, well actually Saturday night, what I saw Saturday night was honestly a lot more of what we’ve been having. I’ve watched the Baltimore Ravens kind of run all over the Dallas Cowboys. Again, they had two bats, Ali and Johnson, both went over 60 yards in a preseason game. That’s that’s pretty good. If those two backs had 120 yards together, Ali and Johnson, what the hell you think Henry will get? You understand? That’s just a Ali and a Johnson. Sounds like a boxer. I’mma let the other thing go or Johnson thing. I’mma let that thing go. But you know what I mean. It didn’t sound like a hearing. And and if that was a Henry, oh my god, there’s no telling. If Ali and Johnson got together 120, Henry by himself going to get 300. And that’s the reality. And we can say what we want, talk like we want. I think 60 and 60 from Alien Johnson says, Jerry, go put Michael on the team or this is what we’re going to be seeing some of. So now this thing goes back to what I what I was talking about prior to all of this and in in and how you build right here and what you go and do and what I say they need to go and do is put up 35 points a game. Now I was at 28 29 30 when I see this run game this run defense and actually right now I know the run game for for the Dallas Cowboys. I I I’m calling for Doc CD and George Pickings to do a I mean you got to put up 35 points a game. That’s what you’re going to have to do. you put you’re going to have to put up 35 points a game and to keep teams out of being able to run the ball. You know, that’s number one thing. We went into this camp saying we were going to work on two things. Running the ball and stopping the run. And neither one of those in the first two weeks have you seen any glimpse of to be honest with you. So obviously week two of the preseason is down now, but there’s a lot of work to do in the next two weeks before the regular season start. Everybody’s been feeling good about the approach, but the approach gets solidified with good play. Even in preeason, I would usually say if you are the Philadelphia Eagles, um, teams like that, you know, Kansas City Chiefs, then you can kind of play around with preseason because you got your new you you you got your nucleus. You know what you have and you know it works. The Cowboys aren’t in that boat. They were not even in the playoffs last year. So, playing around with preeason is a little more dangerous. because it scares me that you’re going to be giving and getting the same things that we had last year. So, this is important. I say this game three has to give you some kind of inkling, something of what the Cowboys are be doing week one. We need to see something in week three to say, “Oh, okay. I see how that’s coming together.” So, I’ll be looking for that. In the meantime, I guess we will be getting this documentary dropped tomorrow officially. I don’t know what time tomorrow that midnight means tomorrow. 12:01 means tomorrow, but I know it gets dropped tomorrow and we will discuss it. Right here in the locker

  4. Off topic, but Shedeur isn’t safe with the CBs. Notice how some of the Cleveland Browns sideline staff stare at him with deep hate and disdain on their faces when he’s not looking. Maybe they’re jealous they were never strong, talented, smart, charming, famous, and rich in their twenties or the son of Prime, but for some reason they really hate this kid!! It’s sad, but you can’t trust that kind of hate.Someone needs to tell Shedeur don’t sit his Gatorade down or accept an open water bottle from them. I used to want him to show out and prove them wrong, but after zooming in on the faces standing behind him on the sideline with sheer seething hate, his safety is more important. It’s concerning!

  5. I’ve thought before the first preseason game that they would be a high scoring team the minute they signed GP. They can definitely be one of the highest scoring teams this year with the speed they have.

  6. So, basically, it is another lost cause of a season. Can't run the ball, can't stop the run. Unfortunately, I got it Playmaker. Just think, Jerry could have picked up the phone and called Derrick Henry or tried to sign Barkley last year. He did neither. All in? How about all out?

It will never change until Jerry sells the team to someone who cares and wants to win. 30 yrs of nothing . Dak is not even in the same league as Troy Roger and even Danny white. Jerry is not the same owner he once was. He has changed.

  35. Dallas is not interested in winning superbowls Parson wants to win superbowls it want be in dallas. I understand dallascowboys is the best brand to own Tom Landry did that but now it all about making money. So Parson must go if he wants a championship ring..

  41. If the Jones family are still running the Cowboys, and the NFL brings a second team to Dallas? I don't care who it is. It could be the Cleveland Browns, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Spokane Buttfuckers, I don't care. If that team starts with a Dallas, GOODBYE Cowboys. Jerry has gutted the soul from this team and turned it into an hopeless parody.

  42. Micah Parsons is not no run stopper yes he will be force pass rushing and i think they got plenty over pass rusher on the team .They need some big boys down there to stop that run . Which i dont think they doin a good job in doing for a couple over years now.
