Another piss poor performance.
As always I blame this loss on Matty V
Unclutch hitting. Mederos gave us a shot. Rengifo playing center field. “Competitive” team.
Even Gubie wants ABS.
in today’s game, gavin lux had 2 RBIs, which was more than zach neto, nolan schanuel, mike trout, taylor ward, yoan moncada, jo adell, christian moore, logan ohoppe, bryce teodosio, and luis rengifo combined. nice!
So who wants to talk about anything other than the Angels?
Tommy Pham’s having a crashout on twitter and just accused Addison Barger of being on roids đź’€

That ump was atrocious but even then you can’t just be giving up during the game (*cough cough* Luis Rengifo)

No one’s winning AL west today
Arte’s favorite letter. The letter L
7 1/2 games out of the Wild Card with 5 teams ahead of the Angels.
Looks like these “meaningful games” that Minisian cited as the reason not to trade away players have come to an end.
Do better
At what point do you move trout to 8 or 9th? Bro goes up looking for a walk in the 3 hole, he either strikes out or walks. We need someone to move runners over not hope they can get a free base.
It might be O’Hover 💔 0-4 w 2 Ks to bring his OPS down to .674
Rough one tonight. Definitely had our chances.
This isn’t Little League — adults rarely get benched for effort — but I would like to hear Montgomery’s thoughts on Rengifo’s jog. I feel like there are two acceptable answers:
– “We put him in a really tough position. His initial step was forward because he was trying to be aggressive. We talked it out. We’re all good.”
– “Horrible effort. I made it clear that we don’t tolerate that on the field. We talked it out. We’re all good.”
But I feel like you can’t not acknowledge it, right? On a young team, “I got embarrassed” can’t be a reason for effort.
just cruel to play rengifo in cf
We fuckin suck
Why in the halo honking hell was Rengifo playing CF in a close ball game?
Moving Teodosio from CF was a huge mistake – he saved umpteen runs in the last series. I don’t even care about analytics in this moment.
Why shift him from that space? Of course the makeshift will miss a catch. Sorriest sacks of shit in existence are the Halos front office, and that’s saying something. Unbelievable on a day-to-day basis.
Ok so, Victor Mederos is in the process of completely remaking himself as a low-slot sinkerballer and honestly I’ll take 5/3 from him at this point.
People are going to completely unfairly shit on Rengifo for that play which first of all didn’t fucking matter at all and second of all he is not an outfielder. That is not Ray’s fault. That is “our only center fielder is Diet Denzel Clarke”; that is on the FO.
We hit, we pitched, we lost. And it wasn’t that close.
