I have a hard time believing they practiced this play and nobody pointed out how absolutely terrible of an idea it is (completely ignoring the fact that it’s an illegal formation).

Didn’t this exact play work previously? Maybe it was a different team that ran it? I can’t remember the details
Edit: there was Washington’s [swinging gate](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/s/hIAlN4hKhv) play that also didn’t work but had little downside due to it being at the end of the half. I’m still remembering something different though
