Join Eric Huysman and Brett Chancey for the Locked On Astros podcast as they discuss the Astros’ inability to score runs. They have been held scoreless for the past 28 innings. Statistically, this should not happen. Hunter Brown went out and matched Tarik Skubal zero for zero, but the lack of bullpen depth for the Astros shines again.

  1. No doubt MLB has a serious umpire problem. Multiple egregious missed calls every game. Lots of issues – but it starts with the coach. Great guy – but it's like he has no feel for the game. Repeatedly waiting to pull a pitcher who is clearly having an "off" day until after the damage is done. For example it was Ort's turn tonight – he was off. But he let him roll to the bitter end. I mean – throw a strike or the game is over – pretty simple. Also, often pinch hitting for the players who are the only ones with a hit or two in the game – on and on. Young players brought up who show promise (and are at least hitting some balls) sent back down in favor of recently acquired temporary vets who can't seem to hit the ball…yikes. Put your potentially hot young players back in for the whole game. What do you have to lose? The old "temporary" vets are not getting it done. I'd rather watch the future stars play and learn than watch the old temporary vets who are not a long term fit for this team anyway struggle

  2. Ort was worst guy to put in. He gives up hits and can’t find the plate. Where was Okert? He wasn’t available? Ort would be last guy to put in. Three frigging walks! Three!!!!

  3. It's time for Corea to call a team meeting. They are a great team if they sit on pitches.
First swing strikes are killing this team. Work the count. Great hitters wait.

  4. The play at the plate that was reviewed, the umpire actually said the call was "confirmed" not "stands." They must have had some view that showed the catcher's glove and Diaz's hand touching before the glove hit the leg.

  5. STOP SAYING LEAST ASTROS R IN 1ST PLACE. WHO CARES IF YOUR IN 1ST PLACE .CAUSE 2ND PLACE TEAM IS SUCKING 2. THIS IS NOT A PLAYOFF TEAM. IF THEY GET THERE . THEY WILL JUST EMBERASS THEIR SELFS .

  6. I been saying this for a while now. It starts with Joe Espada. This is mainly where the blame lies with the calls he's made. The way he calls game's especially close one's we WILL lose more than likely. Because he doesn’t know how to adjust and make the call to play small ball. The next ones to blame are the players and there at bat approaches. The guys cannot for the life of me keep their heads down and keep their eyes on the ball to make connect. The majority of our hitters are undisciplined and their mechanics are wrong. Watch the extra innings and that will tell you the approach of just advancing the runners to try and score. This is on the Joe and the coaches. Hats off to Hunter, King, and Abreu.

  7. The team tonight were swinging at whatever Skobul was throwing. I get he’s a good pitcher but a professional baseball player adjusts to the pitching. Lots of Astro strikeouts were swinging at balls

  8. You mean NERIS AND DUBIN ??!! We brought up n who is named our LR… what about that Bul…something kid he came in for 5 innings in the marlins game …,

The HPU absolutely was calling ip top BALLS STRIKES making Hunter battle every strike … look at the pitch count

    It was obvious

  9. The astros have gotten walked off at least 5 times this season, not 2. 2 to the m’s, 2 to the a’s, and the tigers one

  10. Another brutal loss smh……….. Bases are loaded bro, you gotta throw a f@&king strike homie!!! If he hits a grand slam, then he hits a grand slam, but make him earn it. Literally gifted them that game. It is what it is, if this is the end of an era, it’s been an amazing ride (PAUSE)

  11. This team is pathetic, I'm sure they'll get shutout again today. If these players can't hit , in extra innings they need to just bunt to at least try to score 1 run.
