Houston Astros Offense Collapses Despite Key Players Returning
This was supposed to be fun. Carlos Correa’s return, Cristian Javier back, Jeremy Peña back, even Lance McCullers expected soon — but instead, the Houston Astros are in the middle of one of their worst stretches in the last 10 years.
The offense has gone cold (just two runs in four games, six runs in six games, and four shutouts in that span), Framber Valdez has struggled, and the pitching depth looks shaky. Even with the “calvary” returning, this team looks broken.
On today’s show, we break down:
⚾ Why Framber Valdez’s struggles are so alarming
⚾ The Astros’ offensive collapse and playoff implications
⚾ Why this stretch feels like the worst in a decade
⚾ If the Mariners were hot, would Houston already be out of the race?

I have no clue how the astros are even a first place team. We always have had great pitching for the most part. But this offense still has not fixed the biggest problem they have. Which is they are a free swinging team and swing at alot of bad pitches and have no plate discipline last 2 years bottom 3rd of the league in plate discipline. Guys like walker altuve dubon Diaz to name a few just hack at bad pitches all the time. 5 of the last 6 games u have faced really bad starting pitchers but have struggled. But that's what happens when you are a free swinging team u can make pitchers look good when u just swing at bad pitches all the time
What happened to everyone saying that trading for Correa that he was going to get us to the World Series. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was saying not to trade for a washed up Correa just like they traded to get back a washed up Verlander. Correa just kills rallies because he will almost fail to hit with any runner on scoring position just like he was batting in Minnesota. Thats what you get for not listening and for kepping Espada as manager. Espada is also the reason the Astros stink. The first half was only masking how bad Espada really is. Everyone was saying to vote for him for manager of the year. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hard to see this rapid decline . The Astros seem totally unprepared. Its obvious they needed pitching help but D.Brown chose to go a different route. Not bashing him , everyone makes mistakes and maybe the offense takes off and he'll look like a genius
The Astros are not a team. Just a bunch of talent searching for their way. Bad trades, bad manager, whatever the reason they are not a cohesive unit. I think the language barrier is not helping either. Half the team needs an interpreter. Hard to build any camaraderie thru an interpreter. Players are uncertain of their future. They have tried to build a team in mid-season and it's just not coming together.
This team playin with no desire or heart u got altuve just swinging at bullcrap like always and the whole team follows the leader with the batting approach
Y'all didn't have to do Altuve dirty with that thumbnail lol very very funny though 😂😂
Can't watch 3-hours of this crap 20 – minutes and the games over
Lance's game is over. But yet they keep putting him on the mound over and over same RESULTS
They’re just cold rn. All good teams are in some cold stretches. They’ll pick it back up soon. Game 2 was an obvious Vegas game to make sure the tigers won that skubal brown match up. They were squeezing the zone on Hunter so bad. Then the failed appeal by instant replay was the cherry on top 😂 it’s all good I’m sure the guys aren’t sweating it as much as we are. They’ll find their rhythm again soon (yes I know it sounds wishful)
The Astros swing at more pitches out of the strike zone than any team in the MLB. The hitting coach should have been fired 3 years ago. Why is Melton playing? Has he gotten a hit this century? Joe needs to be fired.
This free swinging has a bad, bad influence on other players like Melton and Trammel, it's like a virus. Altuve could get away with hacking at everything when he was younger, but he's not a young buck anymore and it doesn't work.
