According to The Athletic, ESPN & MLB are finalizing a deal to move MLB.tv to ESPN''s platform. Guardians are among the teams that would stream through ESPN. Article was unclear when this would happen.

  1. and what about if i live out of market and want to watch guards? honestly mlb tv has been great to me for this so i hope they don’t change that..

  2. Absolutely unbelievable, I get the MLB package every year and now I’ll most likely have to get the ESPN package with an inflated price because it has a whole bunch of other crap I don’t care about that is not baseball.

  3. Really didn’t want to be subscribing to and giving money to ESPN given that their sports coverage overall sucks now. I actually quite like being able to subscribe to guardians broadcasts (I live on the west coast now, so it’s usually my morning or early afternoon TV). Sigh

  4. I have ESPN with YouTube TV. What are the chances the “added price” amounts to more than the $99 for Guardians TV this year?

  5. I have ESPN through DirecTV streaming and I hope that gets me all my Guards games. If not then that’s fucking shitty bullshit.

  6. We need a trust buster in charge of this country again. This shit is ridiculous

  7. $100 for streaming this year was fantastic. I have a feeling I’ll be listening to most of the games next year.

  8. Well it looks like my consumption of Cleveland baseball is about to plummet next year. ESPN/Disney are single-handedly dismantling the sports landscape that we enjoyed for decades

  9. Yeah I won’t be doing that. It was nice watching them this year though. Hope the money is worth losing this generations audience cause nobody has cable anymore and ESPN is gonna be ungodly expensive 🏴‍☠️

  10. This sucks. I wonder if this will affect the T-Mobile sponsorship or free MLB given to season ticket holders.?

  11. This year has been the first I’ve ever been able to regularly watch games. I was really hoping it would stick.

  12. So it sounds like if you have cable/streaming that includes ESPN, you would then have to pay an additional amount to watch the Guards? This sounds even worse than Bally.

  13. Terrible and good bye my t-mobile all access mlb after 2028. ESPN is the worse thing to happen.

Can’t wait for them to inflate the prices and have their shitty announcers on.

MLBTv was awesome as you can listen to Hammy in sync with the baseball game.

  14. Wait so subscribe to whatever ESPN Frankenstein service they come up with plus pay an additional fee? Not doing that. Watching the Guards every night with the family is one of the only things I really enjoy doing anymore. Congratulations corporate greed, you’ve taken that from me now too.

  15. I miss WUAB channel 43. The crack of the bat. The roar of the crowd. Baseball with the Tribe…

  16. ESPN has been doing a lot of damage lately. $30/month for WWE PLE and now this?

Glad I just listen to them on the radio.

  17. They better keep all the talking heads in place, Rick Matt etc. Don’t like them all but can’t be worse than who ESPN would come up with

The GOAT move would be to get Hammy to move to TV and simulcast him to radio

  18. And this is why I couldn’t tell you who is on the Guardians anymore (despite being the biggest fan that knew their entire minor league system at one point) and am more interested in college baseball.

  19. The people who make these deals really do think we are all junkies and will just pay whatever they demand.

  20. What happened to all teams going under the MLB umbrella. They must be offering dump trucks full of money. Because as we all know money is more important than satisfying the viewers.

  21. Insane. I love the MLB out of market package… I assume the ESPN one will require a new subscription… soon these streaming platforms will start charging us for audio. For an extra $9.99 a month you can add sound to your favorite shows.
