This one is on Counsell. Absolutely atrocious decision to sit Caissie and Shaw and start Tucker. We were all confounded and we were all right.

  1. I don’t care if we traded for Castro, he’s a bench utility guy. He shouldn’t be starting every other game. Shaw is our best bat right now and Counsell wants to bench him regularly.

  2. We should not be confounded. Rookies aren’t always going to play. That’s baseball. It happens. Get em tomorrow. The brewers are also really good. This loss is not on anyone

  3. 11 games in 10 days – 5 games in the last 4 days – next off day isn’t till next week. Ur going to have to sit guys and play guys

  4. You ever play fantasy football? Just because your lineup wins week 1 doesn’t mean it’s gonna win week 10. You have to adapt and if you don’t you’re gonna lose. CC is that guy who thinks Aaron Rodgers is gonna be a stud every week

  5. As a brewer fan I have no idea why Tucker was back out there, and even though he played, it’s 100% a counsell move to keep him in the 2 spot instead of putting him down in the order. In 2020 and 2021 he had Yelich hitting 1, 2 or 3 even though he couldn’t make contact

  6. Taking 3 of 4 from the hottest team in baseball and bitching…

    Like what?! lol

  7. Still 2 more wins and 4 more cheese sticks than I was expecting. So, I feel significantly better than I did at the start of the week

Can’t say I feel confident in winning a playoff game but at least we didn’t slip to the 2nr wild card.

  8. I’m okay with Tucker taking an at bat today or two but ONKC should have at least gotten half the at bats.

  9. Well yes sports are full of ups and downs. And when our “star” player is injured we make adjustments. And when those adjustments are finally made and we win 3 games a row from those adjustments we should stick with those adjustments. Our perennial superstar who is injured and is in the worst slump of his career should be heeling up for the postseason.

  10. Stop blaming this shit on the lineup lmao some of you are so dumb. The cubs haven’t scored runs in a month. Everyone is cold besides one guy. It’s not the lineups

  11. It’s like we reacted to winning the series by backing off and treating today as ho-hum, another 1 of 162, no big deal.

  12. CC over analyzes instead of using feel for the game. Shaw especially has been so clutch lately and with all the LOB today… yeah it was a brutal watch.

Plenty of other options to rest after traveling to the angels this weekend, so that’s not a good excuse either. If anything, Caissie should have been letting a more regular player rest to still get in the lineup. Would have been a good storyline but bad feel (imo)

  13. Shaw started 10 straight games including both sides of a doubleheader. I’m sure he needed a break.

  14. One days lineup construction has little impact on the season. Overall Counsell does what he’s supposed to do.

  15. I don’t hate Counsel but if I made the lineup today Caissie and Shaw would’ve been it

  16. I mean you can’t sit him forever and we’re not gonna win every single game. I’m sure he’ll be moving him down in the lineup very soon.

  17. How Imanaga gives up just 2 earned runs in 7 innings and still loses is such a travesty but that’s the story of how bad our run support is lately.

  18. I was at the game today. I was 100% taken by surprise to see Tucker back out there today.

  19. We don’t know who it’s on since the front office heavily influences the starting lineup. It’s like that on most teams.

  20. Really felt like Counsell didn’t care if we won or lost today. I understand the argument that we need to rest guys from time to time, but we are literally starting a series against the Angels tomorrow, can they not rest then?
