TIGERS POSTCAST: COMEBACK WIN! Detroit Tigers BEAT Kansas City Royals, Zach McKinstry Has Big Night

Detroit Tigers topped Kansas City Royals 7-5 in the series opener at Comerica Park. Riley Greene hit his 30th home run of the season – a two-run shot that tied the game at 3 in the bottom of the 6th. Detroit Tigers offense poured it on in the home half of the 7th plating 4 runs to take the 7-3 lead. Zach McKinstry scored the go-ahead run and added to his big night that already included a home run as part of a 3 hit night. Casey Mize started the game for the Detroit Tigers and was roughed up allowing 9 hits, but he limited the damage to three runs in 5.2 innings pitched. Detroit Tigers continue to stay hot having won 4 in a row and 10 of their last 12 games.

  1. Interesting observation: everyone who hit for the Tigers tonight are batting in the .260's except Torkelson (.242), Ibanez (.252) and Dingler (.271) . All within .030 of each other.
