[Padres] Game 2 in Seattle.

  1. Simple reality is that while the Padres are still (generally) scoring runs and winning games, Arraez will be batting 2nd

  2. Nice to know he’s gonna bench sheets when Merrill comes back…. This stubbornness will cost us in playoffs

  3. Yk what’s funny, is I remember a few years ago when BoMel moved people around the lineup a lot, and people complained that “ballplayers need consistency”, and now the order roughly stays the same and now it’s an issue.

I don’t really think there’s necessarily a right or wrong way to approach the lineup, just because every team has different players that react differently to different things, but I do think that this says a lot about Schildt’s ability to take criticism or accept that he’s wrong. Arraez still isn’t a bad hitter, he just doesn’t belong at 2, and that’s okay.

  4. I gotta be real.  I know a lot about baseball but probably like 2% of what Mike knows.  You just hope it pays off.   I do hope OHearn is in the longterm plans somehow.

  5. Let’s let him know that we don’t like Arraez at second when they play at the Cathedral (Petco 🐶)

  6. Even taking Shildtys obsession with R-L batting my wish lineup would be
    1. Bebo
    2. Ohearn/Jackson after return
    3. Manny
    4. Jackson/Ohearn
    5. Bogey
    6. Arraez
    7. Ramon
    8. Crone
    9. Freddy

  7. At this point, I don’t see any reason to keep beating the drum to get Arraez moved down in the line-up. Shildt is going to stick with the same 3 guys at the top and move 4-7 around on a nightly basis or depending on who’s available. Just have to hope our guys step up when it counts.
