Tyrese Haliburton gets asked about his “Haliban” nickname: “It’s unfortunate… the Taliban is a terrible group of people and it’s unfortunate that on social media it’s become the thing, obviously I could never publicly acknowledge it or respond, people will come in my twitch chat and spam that”

  1. Logan’s a bit of a Japanese terrorist himself. No need to act so surprised when realizing the joke.

  2. East memewars went fucking insane during this. Knicks fans brigaded the sub when 9/11 jokes starting dropping.

  3. Sorry, Haliban. But you hit that clutch shot in MSG, you get a nickname. That’s the deal.

  4. Really appreciate that you get to see the steam engine in between Logan’s ears go to work there as he connects Haliban to NY.

  5. I wanna hear this pod but dude joined the worst possible platform to say this stuff.

  6. IMO it’s a great nickname. I also understand why it’s still not publicly acceptable. Some things used to just be for the internet.

  7. I’m not saying Jake Paul is worse than the Taliban but I find it funny that you have no issues going to his podcast given the things he’s done.

  8. As a bucks fan, I despised Hali because I thought he was a front runner with his attitude. Then the Giannis thing happened with his dad.

After he called his dad out for being wrong, I respected it.

Then he went on an insane run to the finals, including the bucks games. Even acknowledging that the choke move was silly in hindsight but he thought he had just won.

I am no longer a hater.

  9. okay we can just call him Haliburton after the military contractor that perpetrated the iraq and afghanistan war lol

  10. Personally I think it’s tasteless and people should be ashamed.

I thought Tyrese “The Oklahoma City Bomber” Haliburton was way better anyway.

  11. I wonder if Steph wishes he could use “skyfucker” for things. Like he would never say anything like that during an interview, but like, I bet he wishes he could

  12. He doesn’t want to be associated with bad people or war in the middle-east, guys. Just call him Haliburton.
