One of greatest games of basketball that was ever played by an individual and somehow it was completely overshadowed.
Poor JR. If George Hill hadn’t missed a game winning FT or if he hadn’t hustled ass to grab the offensive board, nobody would put this loss on him.
Jr smith was the patch notes
LeBron is holding back demons, sometimes the facade slips and you can see the cracks.
Bron’s face will never not make me laugh. That is a man suffering
“What the FUCK are you doing?!”
How much did GS pay JR to run the clock out? 😂
Bruh, JR telling Bron, “I thought we was up”, Bron wanted to swing in that moment.
I will love JR Smith until the day I die for this. I could not understand what was happening as I freaked out when we lost the rebound and he just dribbled awaaaaaaay.
Crazy moment
Everyone often talk about KD ruining nba history but the real villian might have been jr lol
this is still haunting me
Controversial take: JR Smith was still a net positive on this play. He got the offensive rebound, denying Golden State (and his own team) a shot at the game winner.
This was some Robert the Bruce betrays William Wallace shit.
Atleast it looked like that Lebron’s face anyway.
How could you possibly allow yourself to forget the score at this point in the damn season?
Its the NBA finals and Lebron is quite literally putting up one of the best games of all-time against the best team of all-time.
Its not just on JR because Hill has to make his damn freethrows, but Jesus its demoralizing to know you have a key teammate who can just up and forget the score at any point in a finals game.
Is LeBron’s 51/8/8 on 59/43/91 the best individual performance in a finals loss?
Will never forget the terrible leadership displayed by LeBron here. Be disappointed for sure, but his whole attitude was disgusting. Sulking like my 2 yr old niece on the bench and ignoring his teammates and coaches.
People act like the Cavs would’ve had a chance if they won the game. It would’ve been the cherry on top on LeBron’s masterclass, and the Cavs wouldn’t have been swept, but that’s about it…
Where a legendary meme was born
I thought we was up.
Lebron carried that team on his back
Lebron even tried to call a timeout too. I remember him asking ty if they had a timeout after this and his face when ty said yes said it all.
This is definitely the best individual game by a player that I have ever watched but I do believe he could have done better.
He did pout on the bench before overtime and didn’t rally his teammates. JR Smith made a generational mistake but if you are the GOAT, then he could have overcome or at least trusted his teammates to overcome the odds.
George Hill fault
He sees LeBrons face every night when he closes his eyes.
Bron played the greatest game I’ve ever seen from an individual and then JR threw that shit away. Watching it in real time was truly a movie.
Crazy thing was it wasnt just JR being dumb, Ty Lue also had a timeout he could’ve called but didn’t
“Fadeaway 3 or supercool fast break 3? I dont understand.”
Actually a hell of a rebound over a guy that’s a half foot taller than him
I was watching this live, and JR Smith wasn’t the only one. I was intently watching but I also thought Cavs were up by 1.
Henny Smith who forgot the score.
George Hill is the luckiest guy. No one talked about him bricking the free throws. JR took all the heat
This your king??
🤣🫵
The memes that came from this game was soo good man
That was definitely not 7 years ago today
I hate how folks just pretend this didn’t go to overtime
Blame the whole team for not showing up in OT. JR didn’t cost them the game, he cost them the CHANCE to win the game sooner but the game wasn’t over (technically he also saved them from potentially losing, if he didn’t secure the board)
He cost his team the game but created an all-time meme
And then LeBron punched a wall and broke his hand lol
I don’t understand why he didn’t just try to go straight to the basket after getting the rebound
I was young and a huge bron fan. I was so upset I spiked my Xbox controller at the ground and that shit bounced up and nailed my parents tv. $2000 😭😭
I’ll defend this forever. He got the rebound and secured the ball. Somebody call a timeout. It’s not all on him
That was the end of jr smith
How durant not get that board?
I am not watching that and opening the wounds again.

Dude’s been very unlucky.
LeBron did everything he could that game

Can’t get over how insane it is that a seasoned vet would forget what the score was in this situation.
Here’s [a repost](https://i.imgur.com/VyKqvzU.mp4) of an iconic gif of this by the GOAT /u/sim888
