That’s just Drew being Drew. If they were starting my 150lb ass, he’d say the same thing.
I do like the OL much better than last year’s, though. We’ll see how they gel together during the season. There were a few hiccups during stunts in the pre season they need to iron out. The talent is there, and I like Penning mauling dudes in his box much better than covering a lot of space.
Any o-line that has Cesar Ruiz and Trevor Penning starting can’t be one of the best in the NFL
Every other team must have the greatest defensive line of all time as well then

Considering how much draft capital they’ve put in the OLine, it better be one of the best in the NFL.
Also should make evaluating QBs easier.
What’s so offensive about it?
Spoiler alert: It’s not. Ruiz is a liability, Penning is still unproven, and Banks looks good, but is still a rookie at the end of the day. Drew is always going to say good things about the Saints. I love him, but his opinion is meaningless.
I think it certainly can (and should) be, with how much we’ve invested into building it.
Banks is a top 10 pick and looks promising at LT.
Penning is a first round pick and absolute mauler in the run game, and he’s got a ton of potential to be very good at LG. The injury is a concern, and definitely makes it harder to judge since he’s only just moved inside.
McCoy is a stud. Easy top 5 C in the league.
Ruiz… I’m not impressed. He was a pretty average starting RG for his first few years, and he’s been looking rough lately. He’s basically Andrus Peat 2.0, without the versatility to play OT if needed (though I guess he could play C). Still, he was also a first round pick, and frankly if he’s the worst starter on the OL, that’s not always a dire situation.
Fuaga looked solid enough for a rookie on the left, and hopefully he improves even more back in his natural position at RT.
The real question, as always, is depth. We’re just incapable of ever having a fully healthy OL room, and our depth is always pretty bad.
It has potential to be but we’re no where knowing that yet.
