  1. Hell of an outing from Javier and MLB Network put up a graphic that he was on a no-hitter and it was immediately broken as De Los Santos came in, but the bullpen kept passing the baton ending with a save for Ort.

A lot of lobsters tonight, but even though it felt dicey for a while, they fortunately didn’t come back to bite us as some late inning clutch hitting from Correa got us the lead and an insurance run so we didn’t have to clench to the finish.

  2. The Astros have been so good the last decade we have Mariners fans wondering if we’ve ’ever felt pain’.

    Lol.

As a fun fact the Mariners won a playoff series (1995, 19 years after founding) before us. (2004, 43 years after founding)

  3. Love the win. Pitching was stellar tonight. And the offense was…. So how about that pitching, yall??

  4. …seeing Carlos get interviewed by Julia again – it’s like surreal still. lol

  5. This win is for all the people that said that Cristian Javier was done during his last outing

  6. Frustrating wins are still wins at the end of the day.

Great pitching (for the most part). CJ with 6 no-hit innings. The bats able to withstand a NOBLETIGER and 13 LOB to get just enough for the win. No one got hurt. I’ll take those wins.

3 in a row. 3 games up on the Mariners. Still undefeated since Salazar came up. Let’s keep that streak going tomorrow

  7. It’s good our pitching has bounced back. Imagine if we could pitch and bat at the same time.

In other news, Meyers played CF tonight in Sugar Land and had 3 ABs. Had a decent long AB, but timing looks off with his hitting.

    Trammell hit 2 homers.

  8. Has anyone actually told Yainer that you are allowed to watch a pitch? Maybe he just believes that everything needs to be swung at.

  9. Just sitting here giggling at all the doomers in the game thread. You know who you are.

  10. A rare Muñoz blown save!

CJ dazzled and kept us in it to squeak by and take advantage of a Mariners L.

    Night, y’all!

  11. El Reptil dealt today, I didn’t even realize we had a no no going until Enyel came in and gave up a hit.

Ort looks like he’s found it again. The velo on his FB was there but now the command/control too (atleast for the last 2 games)

    Yordan is Yordan

3 games up on the Mariners!

    Shoot it!

  12. First time in a long time we had a 3 game lead. The Mariners finding a way to somehow blow that game is huge.

  13. The Astros W + Mariners L combo on a Friday night!

Bonus: Javier throwing 6 no-hit innings! It’s a shame he didn’t get the win as well, but that was an outstanding bounce back performance.

  14. > And the Astros gain another game. The division is over

I had to go check in on the M’s Doomers. lol

  15. Have we contacted Buehler yet? Did you see Kimbrel’s expression tonight? Even he can’t believe how much he sucks.

  16. If Javier is back to his 2022 self, he might be the best pitcher on this team. In case anyone forgot how good he was, he started 27 games including the postseason, and allowed 2 hits or less in 13 of those starts. 6 2 hit starts, 5 1 hit starts (including 1 in the ALCS), and of course the two no hitters he started. He only had 3 appearances all year with more hits allowed than innings pitched, and none after July 13th.
