So last night, Pelicans guard Joseé Alvarado was carded off the court against Argentina in a FIA America Cup match. And I mean, at this point, what more can you say? But we going to break it down right now in the Pelican Scoop. Y’all know what to do. Cue my music. [Applause] Pelicans. Smash that like button, leave a comment, and subscribe to stay on top of your Pel’s content. Now, Running Point. Here’s Jordan. What is good, YouTube? Welcome back to another edition of the Pelican Scoop. I am your host with the most, Jordan Kitchens. And ladies and gentlemen, I mean, is it really a Pelicans off season without something like this happening? I mean, listen. So, first and foremost, you know, I’m last night. I’m I’m trying, you know, I’m ready to go to sleep and, you know, I’m in the bed. You know, I got my socks off, rub my feet. You already know what time it is. Fan on. You already know what time it is. I’m ready to go to sleep. And you know, something goes across my timeline. Well, something gets sent to me and it brought to my attention and it’s like a video of somebody courtside against somebody in the stadium recording Joseé Alvarado getting stretched off. Not I said cart in the intro, a stretcher. You know, like this is the Civil War. He’s getting stretched off the court. No type of context. No type of oh like oh this all you see it’s all you see and I’m just like are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? Now you know me. I had to go dive in a little bit deeper. You know I had to figure out what was going on before I come on camera and what y’all went with with stuff to present to my folks to present to my community. So you know I had to go and do my due diligence. So before we get into this let’s watch the play and what exactly happened. So I have the broadcast and they’re speaking Spanish. So I put it in a little translator get some captions of what they exactly were saying. I took three years of Spanish in college and I can’t even tell you what a sink was. So, I mean, do what you want with the information. So, I can’t tell you if there this is the correct whatever was going on. Like I said, I unfortunately I’m stupid and I just speak English. I don’t speak I wish I was bilingual. So, this is the original broadcast. Florida. [Music] [Music] And as you see, Jose takes a crazy fall is riding on his back. You know, Jose, he’s a little performative. He, you know, he adds a little bit of spice to it, but I mean, this look pretty serious. You know, they trying to sit there and stretch him out or whatever. I’m not a a physical therapist. I can’t tell you exactly, you know, how do you fix a lower back contouge in the neck? Oh, and I said that no context, but they did, you know, was translated to the English version of the tweet when I seen originally. But if y’all know Jose, he takes much pride, very much a lot of pride in playing for his country, representing Puerto Rico. So, he’s going balls to the wall at all times when it comes to national games and, you know, playing for your country. Obviously, you know, you’re playing for your country. You’re playing for your heritage. You know, you feel like you got to carry the country on your back. But, Jose, my brother, let’s park the brakes a little bit, okay? Let’s park the brakes. Let’s just let’s slow down a little bit. Okay? I know you want to play for your country. I know you want to do all this. I get it. Actually, I really don’t get it. I don’t get it because I only can play for America. So, I don’t know. But I do tell you this, brother. Please slow down. You at this point, you are very important to the team. And I know I know how people going to be I get it. I know you you feel one way about Jose, you feel the other way about Jose, but regardless of the fact the Pelicans going to need him next year. Now, hopefully it’s not in an extended role like, you know, sixman. I don’t I don’t like that idea at all, but is what it’s looking like. I already did my breakdown of the Pelicans bench and how this bench looks to the 2023. I said 2023. Yeah, it was 2023. The 2023 year where they were 49 wins and almost won 50 wins franchise record. Your bench was strong. All right. You had Trey Murphy. You had Tyson Daniels, two starters coming off the bench. Now your bench is looking like, you know, it’s it’s looking real thin. It’s looking real thin. Real recognized real. And you’re looking real unrecognizable at this point. That’s just how I feel. But you know, guys got to play and we’ll see. You know, my friends over there last night. They’re like, “Oh yeah, yeah. You know, it’s all right, bro. We got Jeremiah Fields. This is perfect for fears and in a in a vacuum. Yes, it could be, you know. But hold on, hold on. Before I even keep going, Jose did post on his Instagram story that he was fine. You know, God got him and all you little praying emoji and doing all this. So, it still was just a scary moment, especially, you know, how everybody gets about anybody dealing with the, you know, being associated with the New Orleans Pelicans and injuries is like, god damn, you know, is are they really cursed or whatn not? So, I’m not gonna come in here and say they cursed because he he is all right. Um, I don’t think this is like Jose Alvarado is now paralyzed from the waist down. I’m not sitting there. Come on and reporting that. But I’m reporting that what? Slow down, brother. Jose, please. Just Hey, after this, just All right, let’s relax, you know. Let’s hit the brakes. Let’s relax a little bit. Let’s go sit in the chair, man. You know, kick your feet up, you know, still, you know, stay in shape, you know, work out and do all this, but let’s just slow it down just a little bit, man. Slow it down just a little bit. If I’m Joe Dumar, that’s exactly what I’m telling them. You know, I got me a nice polo on. You know, I polo Joe get I’m like, “Hey, my brother, slow it down. All right, you going to be intricral piece to this team this year.” Because we really don’t know at what point Jeremiah Fears is going to be, you know, are they going to ramp up his minutes cuz we got to see how he going to look, bro. He 18, 19 years old, man. He It’s going to take time, especially as a point guard in the NBA. He’s already turnoverrone and inefficient from shooting from three. Like, it’s going to take some time. So, I don’t think it’s the best to just go ahead run him out there and just all right, like, you know, hey, here, you know, let’s let’s slowly give him more and see what he can handle at first before we just start trying to throw him in a fire and just, hey, either you going to swim or you going to sink. Simple as that. I don’t I I’m not really feeling that approach. But the Pelicans are going to be desperate. Very, very very, very, very, very desperate. So, I’m 100% that you’re going to need all hands in. And all hands in means Jose, you need to be a part of the equation. So, sit your little ass down. Stop it. Chill out. You’re done. I don’t care about nothing. We We’re trying to make the Olympics. I hate to tell you, bro, Puerto Rico, you’re going to get smacked regardless. All right. You’re going to get smacked. They’re going to bend you over. Bam. Right there on the pause if needed, but we just going to keep it rolling. That’s what they’re going to do. The bigger countries, Canada, America, France, I mean, uh, Australia, all them. So, just relax. Sit down. All right, kick your feet up, man. Go, go, go, go to the islands or something, bro. Go go go go to the islands, man. You know, the season right around the corner, man. Go to the islands, bro. Relax. Relax. We need at least 60 plus games out of you, man. Just relax. Don’t sit here and you’re blowing your back out and all this and you got to get stretched off and all we getting is little videos you getting stretched off the court. So, we don’t know what’s going on. They speaking Spanish. I speak English. I’m looking like what? Huh? Huh? in in a in a FEA game, a FEA match. Hey, if like I said, if I’m Willie, if I’m Joe, I’m on the phone. Calm down. You heal up and sit your ass down. I don’t want to see no more of this no more. No time soon. You had one shot. It’s over. His shot was over. Sit down. Thankfully, it ain’t nothing worse. Or, you know, maybe you’re not telling us. I I doubt it’s anything worse. Probably just like he probably just really bruised his tailbone. probably got to sit on a donut or something for a little bit, but other than that, us Pelican fans, we already have enough stress and we just sitting there just on amped all the time about injuries. We just watched Derek Queen get hurt a couple months ago. Uh, and like balling balling. Matter of fact, he was balling against Yang in in the Trailblazer game, ends up breaking his wrist. Like, can we just get to the season? Put these boys on bubble wrap. I don’t know what y’all need to do. Do I don’t know. Oh, y’all need to go to a zero gravity tank. I need the whole team on bubble wrap, man. I’m tired. I’m tired. I’m on my My nerves going to get bad, man. Hey, man. You know, one second you see Zion out there thugging. Zion thugging. Trey Murphy hopping out of Sprinter van with snow bunnies. Derek Queen just smashing his wrist in a preseason game. José Alvarado getting stretched off the court. Like, slow down everybody. whole team. Let’s just get to the damn season, please. Please. That’s all I ask. But then y’all enjoy y’all weekend. I’ve been your host, the most Jordan Kitchens, man. I’m not really going to tell you guys hop in the comments about, “Hey, do you think Jose I we we know he’s fine, but I still got to report about what happened last night. Cuz if I don’t, I’m doing y’all a disservice.” So, comment down below. Does the team need to sit they asses down and let’s just get to the season, please. This team is injuryprone. If the wind blows, too. If the wind blows wrong, somebody bones going to fall out their body. I don’t know. I’m tired of having knees, elbows, ankles, hamstrings, achilles, labums, all all this. Everybody stop, you know, continue working out. You know, do your little but let’s just slow down. Anyways, y’all enjoy your weekend. I’ve been your host, the Mo Jordan Kitchens, and I’m signing out. Peace.
